Q: At point A when the angle of elevation is 31 degrees, the lift cars will travel at 5.0 mph. Each degree of increase of elecation decreases the speed by .2 mph. Point A and point B are 600 feet away from each other (Point B is 600 feet right, closer to the mountain). We may be able to situate the base station at points other than points A and B. What base station location minimizes the time needed to reach the top? Also assume each degree of decrease in the angle of elevation increases the speed by .2 mph. Work please? Thanks!
We need a diagram, or a better setup. Is A at the same elevation as B? Is there some third point on the mountain to which the cars must travel? If so, what is its elevation and distance? (I guess if from A Θ 31?, we need the elevation OR the distance -- we can calculate the other.) If we put the station at B, how do we get to B? And what is the travel time to get to B? Does it matter?
Q: My passenger side tire has a nail in it. Its losing air really really slowly. I will not be able to bring it in until Tuesday and do not have a spare tire. I was going to drive another car, but could I lift the passenger side with a jack to relieve tire pressure on it? Would this be a good idea?If not please let me know what I should do so I can make it to belle tire safely on tuesday for them to patch it up for me. Helpful comments only please. Thanks!
maximum secure decision is to place your spare on and get on your nearest tyre depot. There are various factors dictating as to if or no longer it somewhat is repaired, IE has it been pushed on flat? the place is the hollow? how vast is it? what's the linked fee score of the tyre? any previous upkeep? it somewhat isn't any longer cautioned to force on a tyre with a nail in in any respect . Having mentioned all that usually all you get is a nail that hasn't easily punctured the tyre. the thank you to discover that's to place some soapy water on the nail then wiggle it gently. any sign of bubbles or foaming denotes an air leak so be arranged to alter the wheel in case this happens. in spite of you do i might get it appeared after earlier too long
Q: . operated more like a flap instead of fixed angle rear wing would it help prevent the cars from getting airborne when the cars spin backwards?. Example: If the car spins backwards then the angle of wing would operate like a flap and flip toward the front when the car spins backwards thus creating downforce on the rear at high speed tracks. If the car spins foward again the wing angle would again flip back toward the back again in the norman position Just wanted some input on what effect people thought this would have on the car.
im sure that if possible they wld.but if possible.
Q: Literally. No jack.you being the jack, Harry means!LOLIt‘s not impossibleHarry hopes you know that, and you don‘t need to be super muscularBQ: Do you know that you have the capability to lift a car, even if it‘s really small, Harry asks?
sure, they've been buried by ALL the other native americans that are really lost tribes of israel. *rolleyes*
Q: I recently had my clutch replaced but now when I lift the clutch it shudders until the clutch is fully up. Why is this?
That's called Clutch Chatter It means the pressure plate is bador the throwout bearing is a total mess. Like spliff--saidflywheel needs grinding Maybe the tranny shaft bushing was not replaced also.
Q: I know torque is involved somehow but cant put it togethor.
Mechanical advantage. For example, PA F and Pa f are the forces that can be generated with hydraulic pressure P throughout the car jack. A and a are different areas in the jack where the pressure is applied. So, on the manual end, you apply the force f to a small area and generate a pressure P f/a. Through Pascal's Law, that pressure transmits to the large area, A, under the car. And there you get PA (f/a) A f(A/a) F, a lifting force A/a times more forceful than your meager push f. A/a is the mechanical advantage. No torque here, just comparative areas for a common pressure. But a simple lever can do a similar thing, create mechanical advantage. And here the balance of torques can be used to show that. Mechanical advantage for a lever is (L - p)/p where L is the length of the lever and p is the distance from the short end to the pivot point. EX: If the pivot point of a see-saw is at p L/3, the mechanical advantage is 2/3//1/3 2. So a 75 lb kid on the long end could balance with a 150 lb adult sitting on the short one. Gears of different size can also be used for mechanical advantage. Again torque can be evoked to show that C/c is the mechanical advantage of a large gear with circumference C being turned by a small one of c circumference.
Q: Ok, so I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, and I have a couple questions regarding how hard it would be to lift it myself (as oppose to having a auto-shop do it). I have a lot of the tools I think I would need, however I have little experience with cars. How much money could I expect to have spent after all is said and done? Finally, how long would it take me? Any other advice or info would be great. Thanks.
UNLESS UR SEXY HOT, AND MY TYPE OF girl!!!!
Q: (I‘m referring to the ones that are provided with a new car purchase?
They vary depending on the weight of the car they were supplied with. The safe working load (SWL) is marked on the jack.
Q: All year my moms car soon to be mine has had a large rattling/bumping noise in the back of the car it wasn't so bad to began with but now you can hear it just driving down the street. They say that it is the catalytic converter and that I need a new one dose this sound right if it is whats a good price to pay and if it isn't whats wrong?
If the catalytic converter is making a rattling noise you need to have it replace before it comes completely apart inside and plugs up the exhaust system.
