Q:is there anyway u can get nail polish out of a carpet, i spilt a whole bunch (reaaally dark).. and i tried using shout carpet but it didn't work.. is there anyway to get it out.. = thnx.. lt;3
Carpet You can find a lot of good clever hints from the Hints from Heloise sites. Here's your answer to the nail polish on the carpet problem. 1. Carefully blot up excess polish. 2. Using an eye dropper, apply a small amount of acetone to the stain. 3. Blot immediately. 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until no more stain is removed. 5. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with a dry-cleaning solvent. 6. Blot until the solvent is absorbed. 7. If the stain remains, apply hydrogen peroxide. Use an eyedropper to apply the peroxide directly on the stain. 8. Sponge with cold water and blot dry to remove the hydrogen peroxide.
Q:My friend dosnt have the net so yeah im asking for her. [well shes grounded from the net]well she dropped some blush on her whitish grey carpet SO SHE BLEACHED IT ! she could of just asked me before becuase i know you shouldnt bleach carpet . She could of used vinnagar or bakingsoda or something.. lol . i dont know.but now theres a yellow stain .What should she do !?her perents will be home soon.
Not sure maybe some frebreeze. Or alittle vinegar and water in a bowl, it takes out smoke smells in a room. Or try a box of freezer baking soda, just put a box in your closet for a couple of days. Hope it helps
Q:I want to get a rug to put under my dinning room table but I'm not sure what kind would be best. I have three small kids.
Grandinroad and Frontgate catalogs offer indoor/outdoor rugs that are absolutely beautiful and can be cleaned by simply taking them outside and hosing them down. They are inexpensive and soft to the touch and come in patterns from traditional oriental looks to contemporary. I started by buying one for my outdoor deck but since have added them to my foyers and study. I get qreat compliments on them. No one knows unless I tell them they are so indestructible and easy to clean. You can check with both of these companies on line as well.
Q:Let me first say, I am Christian. I want readers input on this: I am praying daily in my home. I would like a prayer rug, a Muslim prayer rug. I don't think it has any value to my prayers. I just like the idea of praying from the rug. What is your take of this idea? Thank you.
I think if you are spending significant time on your knees in worship before the Lord, you might like something that at least supports your knees a little. Since you want a rug, I suggest a nice carpet sample from your local carpet reseller. You can pick something you like, and it doesn't have any religious connotations or leave you explaining your position when your brothers and sisters in Christ come and visit.
Q:i have candle wax in my carpet
Scrape away as much wax as you can. Place a sheet of butcher paper, glossy side up, or a portion of a brown paper bag on top of the wax. Press the tip of a warm iron gently over the affected area until the wax melts and attaches to the paper. Lift the paper from the carpet. Dab a small amount of denatured alcohol onto the stain if any candle dye is left on the carpet. Sponge with water.
Q:There two different places in the house that have had candle wax spilled on the carpets - Berber carpet and Mini Shag carpet
The best way I have found is to do the following: Remove the chunks of wax and as much as you can with your fingers. You may use ice as the others have suggested for this step. Heat your iron on a NON steam setting but pretty hot. Lay a paper bag over the wax spots and iron them. You may have to do this several times with clean paper but the iron melts the wax and the paper absorbs some of it.
Q:What is the difference between woven carpets and hand made carpets?
Look at the color of the carpet. Hand - made carpets are more colorful in color than woven carpets. Woven carpets do not have more than 8 colors, but more than a dozen colors can be found on hand carpets. The same blue will see different colors of blue on the handmade carpet.
Q:I have horses aswell, and we always put rugs on them to suit the weather conditions, but never put any rugs on the donkeys. Their coat is thick, but would getting them a rug still be a good idea to keep them warm? Its snowing where I live at the minute, and its meant to be getting even colder soon!
If they have lived all their lives without rugs then they wont need them. The majority of horses do not need rugs, people just think that they do. A horse or donkey can regulate its temperature very well, by putting a rug on you are actually stopping their bodies from working properly. The only time I would put rugs on is if it constantly rains/snows and they live outside with no shelter, otherwise they will keep themselves warm and happy as long as they have enough to eat.
Q:dried into wool rug
I don't have wool rugs, but I use Nature's Miracle spray pretty successfully on my carpeting. I looked at the directions on the bottle, and it doesn't say either way that you can or cannot use it on wool rugs; just says for use on all surfaces including carpets (recommends testing small spot in corner). You can purchase it at your local PetsMart if you have one. They sell a small size for under $10 which is nice if it doesn't work (but I bet it will). Then afterward, you can buy it in a much larger size, which per fluid ounce is a much better deal. So funny you should ask this question -- right before I logged on to Yahoo! Answers this AM, I had to remove a urine stain -- a gift from my little 5 lb. chihuahua! Thank goodness she's not a Great Dane! (only for that reason)!
Q:I recently had new carpet installed in my home, and I was confused that the name of the color I picked out at the showroom was called quot;Fawn's Leapquot;, but 3 weeks later when the installers arrived, the tag on the carpet roll was named quot;Creston Winter Minkquot;. I called the carpet store and asked them if this was the same carpet I picked out since it seemed a bit lighter in color. They assurred me that it was the same carpet, and that the factory that made it uses that name, whereas the store uses the other for generic purposes. I kept a swatch to compare later on at the showrroom. But is this common with the carpet industry?
Many stores do this to confound shoppers. If they've gone to all the time, trouble, and expense to help someone find the ideal color, they don't want that customer going to a discount outlet.
