Q: I have an area rug that my poodle urinates on when she's mad at me. Long story short she did it again while I was out and I didn't find it until it was dry and smelling up my apartment. Does anyone have tips on how to clean the rug myself without renting a shampooer and maybe how to deodorize the rug. I've tried fabreese and the baking soda stuff you leave on the carpet and vacuum up later. they didn't seem to work before so If anyone has anything else to suggest I'd be most grateful. Thanks
once its dry its a lot harder to clean, sometime however you can trick the stain. Using your steam iron, steam the spot where the dog peed, don't put the iron on the carpet it can melt/burn it, just let the steam soak into the stain for a couple minutes. Then clean it as though it were still wet
Q: I have carpet at one end of my house and tile on the other end. i want to install new carpet but still keep the tile. how do i install the carpet with tile at the end of it???
if the carpet is lower than the tile you can use the tile as a border, but if they're level. put a thin strip of wood as a saddle
Q: I need to know if its okay to put a bleach mixture on a white bath rug. Would it mess up the fabric? (was a gift from my husband grandmother)
Try using liquid Tide with bleach alternative. You can apply the liquid directly to any spots. Wash and rinse in warm water. If the stains did not come out, then retreat and wash again. If the back of the rug is rubber then DO NOT dry it, over time it will come apart and shed everywhere! If the rug is 100% cotton then you can wash and dry it without any problems. If the rug is not looped, then I would only air dry it to keep the fabric intact and to keep it from shedding.
Q: how to make a latch rug
Google in how to make a latch hook rug
Q: For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. Or you will own the #$% rug and the blame for the spot your cleaning efforts make.
Q: I used a carpet shampooer along with a solution of natures miracle and a small scoop of oxy clean to clean my carpets. My cat had peed a spot in one of my rooms, so i just went ahead and shampooed all the carpet areas. I know that the Nature's miracle says that the carpet has to be 100% dry for the odors to go away. Well it has been over a week and I have noticed that everywhere I shampooed now smells horribly like cat urine! It is overwhelming! The carpet shampooer is kind of old, it was given to me, and I am wondering if it had some odors in it. I took the shampooer outside and took it apart and sprayed it with vinegar but I am scared to use it again because i think that it distributed the urine odor all over my house :( I don't know what to do, the cat urine odor is just everywhere now! What do i do to get rid of it....do i just need to get a new shampooer?
You follow the cleaning with at least one rinse with clean, hot tap water. The color of the extraction will tell you if more rinses are necessary or not. To recap: 1 - Vacuum area to be cleaned thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. 2 - Nature's Miracle to pretreat stains, let sit for at least 15 minutes. 3 - Pretreat entire area to be cleaned with an oxy clean solution, let sit for at least 15 minutes. 4 - Clean the area with carpet cleaning solution, using an extraction machine, following the manufacturer's instructions. 5 - Rinse freshly cleaned area with clean, hot tap water, using the extraction machine. 6 - Allow to thoroughly dry 7 - Vacuum with vacuum cleaner to remove any remaining loosened dirt.
Q: how do you clean a cowskin rug?
Take it to a reputable fur leather cleaner.
Q: I have a 5x8ft rug on my bedroom floor and It seems like every other day it is crooked and I have to readjust it to be square with my bed. WHY DOES IT KEEP MOVING? I barely walk across it, sit on it, or even move on it. It is on carpet and even has a box of clothes sitting on the one corner of it. But the box just moves with it! Why does this keep happening?
The carpet is the reason the rug keeps moving. when anything steps on the rug the carpet tufting is crushed and then bounces back and moves the rug. It always goes the same direction doesn't it? I have rugs over my carpets and only my cats walk around the house during the day time and the rugs will have moved toward the front door all the time. Putting a coffee table or he couch or a heavy chair may stop the rug from crawling .
Q: gotta 79 Camaro, the carpet is f**k'd up so i wanna replace it but not fully sure how to install it or wat materials i need. Help?
Changing the carpet is the easy part. Removing all that's holding it in is the hard part. You can google for automotive carpet and order it online. You can expect to pay 120-175 bucks for a carpet depending on who you order it from. (Try JC Whitney) Order the carpet that comes with the padding attached to it. Once you get the carpet, the hard part begins. Take the seats out, and unbolt the seat belts from the floor. Remove the center console and any trim around the edges such as the sill plates that hold the carpet in. Take care in any wiring you encounter, remember where it is. Once everything holding down the edges of the carpet have been removed, the carpet comes out pretty easy. Vacuum up any loose debris then install the new carpet with padding and put everything back in that you took out. An experienced installer would take 3-4 hours since the center console is the hardest part. If you have never attempted this before, expect a full day at best, probably two to complete the job. No other materials are needed unless there are pieces of carpet that are glued to the kick panels in the front. Then a can of 3M spray adhesive would cover that.
Q: spill candle wax on my carpet and wont come off...
Varsol will remove wax but it may leave a stain on your carpet. Try it on a piece of the carpet you dont see (under a couch). I have done this before, on a multi colored carpet. You need to wash with soapy water after because of the smell.
