Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. - Q:I bought an expensive new rug, on the tag it says professional cleaning only, could I still use my vacuum/steam cleaning vacuum?
- i'm in massachusetts. particularly recommend going to living house depot or lowes and renting a rug healthcare expert for greater or less 25 greenbacks and procuring their carpet cleansing answer for 10 greenbacks. The apartment is for twenty-four hours. it truly works. eliminates puppy smells, puppy hair, airborne dirt and dirt, espresso stains, fruit punch stains, and makes carpets (and sofas!) look form new, confident even white carpets. do no longer fall for those sears and stanley steemer categorized classified ads. they are extremely too lots funds.
- Q:How to deal with the cigarette ash on the carpet?
- Since it has been unable to use the vacuum cleaner, then you partially wet the carpet with a strong detergent to take a small brush carefully brush it.
- Q:What color of the carpet looks good with gray fabric sofa?
- generally beige curtain is suitable for almost all main colors. But I think you decoration color is cool, so you can choose the small size of bright carpet.
- Q:Water was spilled on his rug a few days ago and now the smell of skunk where the water was spilled is becoming overwhelming. Tried scrubbing it with soap but once it dried the smell came back. And there absolutely was no skunk in the house. No animals in the house either. Wondering if my daughter peed on that spot ( she pulls her diaper off sometimes). Please suggest something to get rid of the smell I can't afford the steam cleaner right now but I have a wet/dry shop vac.10 points for best answer thanks in advance for your help
- Boys track all kinds of smelly things into the house on their feet. It could be skunk smell. Everyone who has told you to use plain white vinegar is right. If you want to heat it to near boiling, that could not hurt either. Then dry as best as you can with white towels or color fast towels. Use the shop vac to extract as much water as you can and put a fan on the spot. You want to get it as dry as possible. Health food stores and pet stores sometimes sell safe enzymatic cleaners for pet stains. They really do work on all kinds of animal or urine stains and odors. Tomato juice works because of the enzymes in tomatoes. I would not put it on your carpet. It will smell like rotten tomatoes over time, and stain your carpet red. If your son did get into a patch of ground where a skunk had been, some of the smell might also be lingering on his shoes and clothes. Sometimes time is the best solution to bad smells. Time, fresh air and sunshine all work wonders. If you can't pick up the smell right away, just keep the room picked up, open a window when you can, run a fan to keep air circulating around, and open the blinds.
- Q:I just got an estimate to professionally steam clean a 9 * 12 turkish area rug - the estimate was for $440 which seemed high to me, but I have no reference point - is this a reasonable price? I am located in New York City - Thanks!
- I'll go out on a limb here and guess that $440 is NOT high ... first, it's an Oriental ... second, you are in NYC. And ... it's a big rug! Oriental rugs need to be handled with the utmost care. I would call around to several places for price quotes. I don't actually have a point of reference, either ... but I'm betting that (in your area, at least) you'll find that the price you were given is well within ballpark range. Did you buy the rug new? If so, call the retailer and ask for a recommendation. You may be able to get a break on the price for a referral from the rug seller. If you bought the rug secondhand (or bought it mass-market ... or don't know where the rug originally came from) ... you're probably stuck paying top buck, but BE SURE to get the estimate in writing before you have any work done on the rug!
- Q:How to reuse the used carpet?
- Put it outside the door and use as the foot pad
- Q:Does the carpet need bonding pads without stitching?
- Carpet is divided into two kinds, one is the coil, and the other is sheet (bulk).Generally, carpet carpets need to be covered with rubber mats.Do not splice carpet should say, sheet carpet, do not need to lay glue cushion, direct spread on cement ground can
- Q:i want to shampoo my carpet using over the counter items?? how do i start with it?
- i make my own carpet shampoo using spray n wash and fabric softener. that way i'm not spending a fortune and the spray n wash has resolve in it for the stains. the fabric softener makes it smell nice.
- Q:For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
- My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. Or you will own the #$% rug and the blame for the spot your cleaning efforts make.
- Q:I've just moved into a beautiful older home (125 years) and, although it's been recently re-wired, there just isn't always an outlet where I need it. I live with my elderly mother and do not want to take a chance that she might trip over a cord. When I do short tasks like ironing or vacuuming, can I slip the excessive cord under a rug so that she will not encounter it with her feet. She is absolutely sure that I'll burn the house down - and she's incredibly intelligent, but I'd like to hear from a real fire prevention expert.Thank you for your expertise - I think that safety is essential - paranoia is a bit much, though!
