Q:helloI was installing a GPS tracker in ford Mondeo so i needed 12+ volt from the car. and I take one from driver side under the plastic that' need to the driver knee. there I found many wires and I found red wire I took the 12v+ from it. but by mistaken that wire touched the car ground and now there's no electricity on it I've checked all fuses under the glove box and all fuses near to the engine and non of them was burned out please what should i do
There must be a blown fuse. The purpose of a fuse is to break the connection if the circuit becomes overloaded, this prevents electrical fires, and other dangerous situations. Blown fuses are not obvious if you just glance at the fuse box, you need to remove them in order to see the conductor. I would look at a wiring diagram, find the components on the diagram that are not working, and trace them back to the fuse number and location. This problem can only be a blown fuse or fuseable link.
Q:i have checked the fuses. they are good. can i just replace the bulbs or does the whole component need to be replaced?
If the lights aren't working, check the bulbs and the connections.
Q:I was plugging in my USB TV adapter with cable tv and it shorted out instantly. Visible sparks. It did not damage any components in fact the tv adapter still works, however it did blow a fuse after a long enough connection. Is there anything in particular that I should look for that would cause this problem?
Theres too much power going into the fuse. Try plugging it in to a different fuse to see if it blows that one also.
Q:i have a 150cc 4-stroke scooter , At first it was starting fine but over time the stator fryed and hade to be replaced and after replacing it did not give any spark. so i tried changing the cdi and ignition coil . AND STILL NO SPARK any advice?
I wouldn't touch that scooter with a barge pole, it'll disintegrate in the space of 6 weeks, you will get a much nicer bike if you buy a used Japanese scooter instead; Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki. The Korean Kymco scooters are okay too. You'll need a couple of lessons before you are safe to ride on the road on your own but I would recommend a scooter between 125cc - 200cc unless you are under 16 years of age.
Q:I was told to replace the distributor and check the fuses. Also to check the wiring from the distributor to the alrenator. Where is all this stuff at and how do I check it The car just stopped and sounds like it is going to start but won't. Thanks

Q:For professional mechanics. I have a 93 buik regal with a 3800. It has no ignition fire. It began with intermittent stalling but would start back up. Then it wouldn't start at all. The control module and coils have proven to be good (tested on another vehicle). It has new cam and crank sensor. Harmonic balancer has no damage to the interrupter rings. PCM is good (tested on another vehicle), Cam is turning and cam magnet is present. Performed a thorough continuity check on all wiring in the circuit from every single point, checks good. Still no fire. What did I miss? Remember, all components in the circuit is good and I'm positive the timing chain is not broken.
Well, you show that your fingerprints are all over the components, BUT- how about diagnostics? Have you done pin-out tests at the PCM? G.M. has a known failure rate in the harnesses. Have you tested for voltage? Have you checked the vRef for the components? When you turn the key on, does the MIL illuminate? If not, check the fuses and Vpwr for the PCM. If the MIL does illuminate, have you checked for Diagnostic Codes? If you need, e-mail me, and I will see if I can help out!
Q:I have an older 2-channel Sanyo audio receiver. It takes two fuses (one fuse for each speaker channel). The fuses that were originally in the receiver were 2A fuses. They are blown and I need to find replacements. I have two 4A fuses I pulled from an old stereo component system. They're both the same as the original fuses but they're 4A. Would it be safe for me to put them in the receiver? And if so, could I be able to turn the system up fairly loud without frying it due to using 4A fuses? Or should I avoid this altogether? It doesn't matter if I fry the system because it's old, but I'm more concerned if it created sparks or smoke or even started a fire.
The older gentleman is correct. You can use 4A fuses, but if one of your speakers (or wires) shorts out, that action might destroy the amp instead of blowing that fuse. No, you will not get more power out of it, but make sure that the unit has enough ventilation to properly breath so it doesn't get too hot during operation.
Q:I need the wiring diagram for a 1999 Saab 9-5 SE. It is for the front fog lights, I have looked everywhere and cannot find a site that has them for free.
generally there is a light(s) a switch, a fuse, and a relay for the components. If you are looking for the schematic, they are the same components for every car so I would recommend going to your local auto parts store, look on the shelf of fog lights, and on the back of the box has the schematic drawn out. you can copy it or just draw them on a piece of paper, because there are not a lot of wires. I hope this helps ~Joe
Q:i have determined there is no spark on my sons dirt bike and i have already eliminated the kill button but need to know how to check the coil, stater and CDI box to determine which one has failed.i dont want to go purchase all 3 if i can check these with a simple volt meter or test light.I know the basics of how the system works and know for sure the issue is not with the spark plug or a broken wire since i have traced down all wiring to maks sure it wasent that simple of a fix.
Assuming the chain and sprockets are in stable condition, approximately halfway between the front and rear sprocket the backside portion of the chain ought to circulate vertically between 25-40mm while status immediately without-one sitting on the bike, no rely if it is greater beneficial than that it may be adjusted till the slack is actual. If there is important lateral stream or the adjusters are on the minimize or any tooth are broken on the sprockets the two the sprockets and the chain must be replaced. The marks on the eccentric adjusters are publications in elementary terms and should no longer be depended on as completely precise. to make optimistic the two the wheels are in an analogous direction use 2 parallel planks the two area of the bike.
Q:I also here a thumping noise on the passenger side dash board when I turn the vehicle off what should I do
It sounds like the ac compressor clutch is bad. How to troubleshoot: Unplug the A/C compressor clutch wire and replace fuse and turn on A/C. If it does not blow, it is not anything in the wiring to the compressor. If it blows without the compressor plugged in you are going to have to check wiring and components from the compressor back.
