Q: I bought a Yamaha subwoofer from some dud for $40 and the little red and black things don't workthe subwoofer has built in power and umm I tried plugging in 2 different speakers and they don't work.the hole to put in(red n black) is this screw and I'm guessing you put in the output right? is there anyway to fix this?model no. is YST-SW150
Take the bass driver out of the cabinet, take a flash light and look inside to see if you can see any lose wires, or damage if you do see lose wires solder those wires back where they belong reassemble the unit and try it outif there is something else wrong and there are no lose wires, you may have to replace a resistor or relay or it could be a fusedownload a service manual from the Internet and use that to find the fusecheck all components for damage or leakage.if you find something that looks blotted or is leaking look in the service manual for the proper value buy a replacement part of same value and replace it.but just try replacing the fuse firstfuses come in all sizes and shapes so sometimes you cannot tell where it is just by looking
Q: I was driving my 1990 jeep cherokee and hit a bump all of a sudden my stereo, clock, and dome lights stopped working. All fuses are good under the dash in the fuse box. Where do i go from there? Please help. Is there a fusable link that conects all those components or what?
double check the fuses, if they all are good. you might have some lose wires
Q: I made a harness for some fog lights and when i touch it straight to the battery.it sparksis this becuase it needs to go through the relay and fuse to work properly? with no sparks?
the spark is due to the fact that you are creationg the connection without a switchthus you are firing up the lights by direct contact to the battery. This will create a spark every time. you need to run them through a switch to make them operate properly. Basically you are creating a short in the system when touching the wires directly to the battery. Put an inline switch and you will be ok.
Q: i have determined there is no spark on my sons dirt bike and i have already eliminated the kill button but need to know how to check the coil, stater and CDI box to determine which one has failed.i dont want to go purchase all 3 if i can check these with a simple volt meter or test light.I know the basics of how the system works and know for sure the issue is not with the spark plug or a broken wire since i have traced down all wiring to maks sure it wasent that simple of a fix.
Assuming the chain and sprockets are in stable condition, approximately halfway between the front and rear sprocket the backside portion of the chain ought to circulate vertically between 25-40mm while status immediately without-one sitting on the bike, no rely if it is greater beneficial than that it may be adjusted till the slack is actual. If there is important lateral stream or the adjusters are on the minimize or any tooth are broken on the sprockets the two the sprockets and the chain must be replaced. The marks on the eccentric adjusters are publications in elementary terms and should no longer be depended on as completely precise. to make optimistic the two the wheels are in an analogous direction use 2 parallel planks the two area of the bike.
Q: and also please note some useful web site in this field !
I migth add ground fault detectors and lightingrods
Q: I have 5mm LEDs that Im using to make automotive tail lights with and I need to know what I use for surge protection.
Figure out the current draw, and use a slow-blo fuse in series. Why do you need surge protection in an automobile ?
Q: 3amp fuse keeps blowing
defective ignition module
Q: Hello,I am having a home audio problem. I got an amp for free (Tanderg TR-2080) along with 2 BW speakers. I wired it up and worked great for over a year. Then all of a sudden the LH channel suddenly stops working. Thinking it is a disconnected wire, I switch channels and now its the RH side not working. Is there something I should look at, first and foremost? I think the amp is kind of cheap but its in my garage for working on cars. I would like to get both channels running but I don't want to spend $$$ to get it repaired. Any ideas?
I doubt the fuse theory, because it would probably take both channels out. You MAY have internal speaker fuses, which you can look for. I didn't get a good sense that you isolated what component is out of whack well enough. You need to exchange the incoming cables (only) to the amp first. Does the problem switch sides? If so, it is not the amp. If it stays the same, switch speaker wires. Does the problem switch sides too? Then it is the amp. If you do both sets, then the problem will almost always switch channels on you, which proves nothing. If the amp is bad: Unless you know electronics, and/or can find a blown speaker fuse, it is going to be tough to find the answer. Incidentally, if you find a blown speaker fuse, do not exceed the rating, and if a new one blows immediately, do not try to solve by replacing the fuse again and again. That can burn up the amp. Good luck!
Q: I had this LCD TV for about 2 years and suddenly it stop working, will not turn on and has no power. It made some static noise then it just stop working. The rest of my entertainment system (audio receiver, speakers, subwoofer, radio) still works, powers on in the same electrical outlet with a power surge protector.
I think you blew a fuse on the main power supply.these units are pretty much low voltage and high current systems, and they shouldn't have problems with shorted components.
Q: I have a 2000 volkswagen new beetle w/ 2.0 liter engine. Earlier today a guy jumped me off and I noticed that he had put the jumper cables on wrong! And immediatly yelled for him to take them off!when my stepdad jumped me off I noticed I could no longer read my speed or gas gauge! So is it more likely a fuse that was blown or the instrument cluster? All info is greatly appreciated thank you !
Hey Jasmin, Well, I think you must've hit the wrong button 'cause your question got posted in the Jeep section not the VW section. But hey, no worries. Most modern cars have a protection circuit that will set off a fuse or some other device to prevent serious damage to the engine computers (and other components) if someone gets their positives mixed up with their negatives when jumping the battery. I would suggest you bring it in to either a highly regarded independent shop specializing in European autos (usually BMW, VW, Mercedes and Volvo) or to the dealership. Depending on the car, you may have no choice but to bring it to the dealership if there is some type of special factory software that needs to be used to repair it. I would check in with an independent shop first tell 'em what happened and what's going wrong and they should be able to send you in the right direction (their shop or the dealership). Just be aware this might cost you some large coin to fix just be ready for that.
