Q: I check the fuses and they are good.
Geez this seems to be occurring to an excellent sort of persons i understand - we could continuously all go decrease back to roll up domicile windows. My Taurus had that issue and that i took it in 4 diverse situations earlier it ultimately worked perfect!!! I have not have been given any thought what they ultimately did to it, i understand I asked that they replace the completed door.
Q: I have a 1988 Jeep Comanche Sportruck and all of the gas, speed, etc gauges are not working. The lights that lit up the gauges used to work before I recharged my battery, since the jeep was left sitting for a couple months. But ever since I had the truck none of the speed, gas, and all the rest of the gauges have been reading/ working anything at all. What could the problem be and how could I fix this myself before having to go to a repair shop? Thank you for your help I've had this problem for so long and it's just time for me to fix this.
Check fuses, if not a fuse, replace the dashboard gauge circuit board. DISCUSSION: Check the simplest and cheapest things first (fuses). If it is not a fuse problem, the easiest (and possibly the cheapest) step is to replace the dashboard gauges with parts from a junk yard. You might have blown the voltage regulator on the dash board (not the voltage regulator associated with the alternator). The difficulty of getting out the old dashboard gauges, and replacing a single component is slightly more than the difficulty of getting out the old dashboard gauges and replacing the who dashboard gauge circuit board, gauges and all. You might have also blown some gauges, so even if you fix one component, you might have to go back in to fix more. It is better to recharge the battery when it is disconnected from the car (to avoid the possibility of blowing out sensitive electronics such as dash boards).
Q: I was driving my 1990 jeep cherokee and hit a bump all of a sudden my stereo, clock, and dome lights stopped working. All fuses are good under the dash in the fuse box. Where do i go from there? Please help. Is there a fusable link that conects all those components or what?
double check the fuses, if they all are good. you might have some lose wires
Q: I had lab and I don't quite understand why I did what we did. We used an analog and digital VOM and used it to record the ohms and volts of various electrical components. I was wondering why when using the analog that different devices read completely different ohm readings. Take for example, our Buss fuse didn't even make the needle move, but the diode and the resistor made it go to infinite ohms. How do I figure out what they are supposed to read, and what to expect before going to lab. I couldn't find anything in my book or the lab manual. Also, I was wondering why a resistor would measure outside of its' tolerance range. Is this because it was faulty? Any help is appreciated.
hmm - the fuse resistance was very low, the diode was infinite 'cos it didn't conduct - it would have done if you reversed the polarity ( turned it round!). This was an experiment - you do not ask what they are supposed to read, it's your job to find out by measuring.!!! That's Physics, not Criminology! The resistor could be out of tolerance, but so what? Just measure it's value as it is now.
Q: As stated, I'm going to add an extra CL in my fuse box for an accessory. Would it hurt anything to just add it to the lower gold bolt that already has a ground attached? I'd consider the empty one but I can't get my hand behind it and don't want to not be able to tighten in back up. Thanks for any advice, sorry for the novice question, I'm fairly new to working in my car.
Be careful, a cigarette lighter is a very high amperage draw device. The single existing fuse is only designed for one lighter, so you should consider running a dedicated line from the battery, fuse protected, to your new lighter. However, if you only plan on using the lighter socket for small current draw purposes, like a cell phone charger, then you could be okay tapping into an existing line. As for ground, any existing ground should be okay, as well as adding a new ground to a metal frame or body component.
Q: For my 2005 chevrolet malibu maxx, the front left turn signal isn't working. I changed the bulb still the bulb comes on; but doesn't blink. Per the manual, there's 3 fuse boxes. However, none of the fuses are called turn signal. One is called left headlamp low beam.In summary, does anyone the location for the turn signal fuse for a 2005 chevrolet malibu maxx? Thanks
it can,t be the fuse or none of them would work. i would be checking on the socket for the bulb. maybe a bad ground on the socket.
Q: I made one of those DIY laptop coolers and forgot to insulate the two most important wires (which were touching causing short circuit) Plugged it into my laptop which is rendering and suddenly everything just turns off. Is there a fuse or a component I can replace? Tried everything, took out the hard drive. If it is unrevivable what parts will still work?Laptop: asus pro50seriesCPU: intel core 2 duo t5750Hard drive: seagate 250gbRam: 2gbAny help appreciated. Really urgent. What parts do I need to change?
Sorry, there is very little good news. You fried the motherboard with that short circuit, and replacing that will probably cost you the same or more than buying a new laptop. In the worst case scenario, it is quite possible that your CPU and RAM got cooked as well. The only good news is that your hard drive may still be okay.
Q: i have a 150cc 4-stroke scooter , At first it was starting fine but over time the stator fryed and hade to be replaced and after replacing it did not give any spark. so i tried changing the cdi and ignition coil . AND STILL NO SPARK any advice?
You got an open circuit somewhere, do you have VOM, tester?Did you replace or test the fuse?
Q: hiya, ive got some serious problem once ive open my pc then something sparked inside my PSU then i see that AVR turns its light off and its FUSE isbroken, the MOBO's LED light is off,but my monitor is on.and have power coz my monitor uses myPSUs power wich one is realy dead?
i think your psu is dead as the monitor takes the direct power and does not affects your psu
Q: I have BOSS Bass1500 with 25A fuse hooked onto 8GA 1000W 40A metra kit. Annoyed with low output I bought a 2 way subwoofer crossover SOUNDSTORM SX210. SOUNDSTORM SX210 kit requires a 3A fuse from the battery to crossover. What if I run a 10GA cable to power the crossover through my amplified subwoofer? Also, run the remote wire through the amplified subwoofer to crossover?Doesn't make sense laying 2 power cables running from the battery to 2 different things and 2 separate remote wires from the head unit. What do you guys think?
For the main power you can use a distribution block that splits the power two ways. just cut the main power wire (with the battery disconnected of course!) and connect them back up again via the d block. then run your 10GA wire from the d block to your crossover. Don't forget to put fuses in between the distribution block and the components though. A 25 amp fuse for the sub and a 3 amp fuse for the crossover. For the remote wire you can simply tap into the one already running to you sub. there are connectors for this that you can buy from any electrics store. Good luck. Ben.
