FAQ
Q: Are your pumps protected against dry running?
A: No, unprotected centrifugal pumps are not generally designed for dry running. It is important to give us or your dealer as much information as possible about the system in which the pump is used. Inlet pressure, the type of liquid to be pumped, together with relative density, viscosity and temperature, for example, are required in order to allow CNBM to recommend the right pump with the right gaskets for a long operating lifetime.
Q: How can I get trained on CNBM products?
A: Yes, we provide training courses in our factory (products, general and specific pump technology, hydraulics, and practical applications). Please consult your sales manager or get in touch with our headquarters for more information.
Q: Are your pumps cheaper than those of your competitors?
A: CNBM aims to give its customers the highest standards of quality and service and delivery times, all at a reasonable price.
Q: Do you have self-priming pumps?
A: Yes, our product portfolio also includes two ranges of self-priming pumps: self-priming electric pumps and self-priming side channel pumps.
Q: Is it really necessary to fit a bleed valve for the boxes?
A: It is always best to have a bleed valve as the gas produced by the fermenting sewage is potentially hazardous.
- Q: I cant get water to flow though the motor It seems like the pump isnt working any advise!
- Since you've done all the normal fixes already i think you should look at the possibility that your cam shaft is worn or the lifters. I'm not sure if an evinrude 20hp engine has lifters but i've had this same problem a few years back when chevy put cheap cams in some of their vehicles. The lobes on the cam were rounding off instead of being a teardrop shape and the vehicles would start and idle fine but would pop like mad on acceleration. Hope this helps!
- Q: I have a leak on the front of the engine by the timing belt housing coming out of a small hole by the alternator. I assume it is a leaking water pump. How do to go about changing the water pump?Short clip of actual leak coming from the hole by the alternator and under the timing belt housing
- water pump is timing belt driven, so you have to pull all of the belts off, the timing belt cover and that belt also. if that belt has not been replaced in 80,000 miles. you want to do that. i had a 93 civic and a 90 civic that i did the belt and pump in at 230,000 miles. it takes a little time but it is not that bad. the harmonic balancer has to come off for the timing belt also.
- Q: I have a 73 dodge charger 400 cubic inch engine, The water pump broke (causing the fan to chew into the radiator) I replaced the water pump and fan (will be replacing the radiator this week) But the problem I am encountering is the belt for the water pump is lose, How do I go about tightening this?
- If you dont know how to tighten the belt, I would get it to a shop and let a professional replace the belt for you. You loosen the two bolts, stick a prybar in and tighten the belt, and then tighten the bolts.
- Q: Is the water lamp in the basement water pump fluorescent or waterproof?
- Not ordinary fluorescent lamp, it is waterproof and explosion-proof fluorescent lamp. And the PE protection line must be added
- Q: Recently my car overheated on my way to work, and so I decided to give it some much needed TLC.I have replaced all in the last week:Spark PlugsDistributor Cap + RotorTiming BeltRelated to the cooling system:Water PumpThermostatAnd the heater still blows hot air so I believe the heater core is fine. Unfortunately even after a couple of radiator flushes the car continues to overheat. I'm considering replacing the radiator because I think it might have too much debris inside to flow properly.I used ZEREX Radiator Super Cleaner but was only able to acheive an hour and a half of driving before my car would not be able to drive anymore. (Supposed to be 3 hours, car temperature began to escalate far beyond what I'm confortable with) I also used ZEREX Radiator Super Flush to no avail.Any suggestions?Car info:Toyota Camry DX 19913S-FE Engine 2.0L I4 1998cc244,500 miles
- Check to make sure your radiator cooling fans are coming on. Also when you say your car overheats are you going by the gauge in the dash or is it actually bubbling over? Might be as simple as a new radiator cap (not allowing the pressure to build up) coolant temp sender or switch. (should be in the block), or your fans might not be coming on.
- Q: I am looking for foot peddals and one of those pumps that you can use to pump excess water out of the cockpit..... any Ideas where to look for the cheapest of both...I checked Dunhams and *****.
- Northwest okorder / They also have a section where people sell their second-hand gear, you might look there as well.
- Q: can i drive my car ,with a blown water pump, 5 miles to a service center?
- i guess you mean it leaking water like crazy from the pump. yes you can drive 5 miles. start out with a cold eng, leave the radiator cap loose plan a route where you dont have to set at stop lights. And drive slower as to not heat up the eng , not 60 mph. Take 5 gallons of water with you to add if you need to. what ever you do dont let it over heat. the shop should come and tow you cheap, like $35 , that would be safer. but if it is just leaking water as long as you keep water in it you can go 5 miles. i have done that sort of thing several times. 5 miles id easy if your not stuck in stop and go traffic.
- Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX and i recently took it in to have its timing belt and water pump replaced. Since then, I have noticed a change in the cars performance. I have lost both gas mileage and power since i took my car in. The maintenance supposedly took the dealer twelve hours to complete which seemed a little odd to me. Do you think this is linked? I just remember getting a lot more miles to a tank of gas, and my car was about the same speed as a friend of mine's who now smokes me. Thank You.
- 12 hours on a civic DX. I am a honda mechanic and I will say that this job only takes 2 hours, 4 hours if your slow and never done it before. Mind you this includes timing belt, water pump, cam seal, crankshaft seal, serpentine belts, valve cover gasket, spark plugs if needed, Honda coolant, and valve adjustment. If you are 1 tooth off on timing your Honda will run, but it will run very rough. Sounds to me like they may have the timing 1 tooth off, 2 teeth off and the car just wont run and if it does it will barely run. This car needs to be taken back and everything i told you should have been done and done properly. What probably happened is the dealer let an apprentice work on the car, since this civic is the easiest to do a timing belt on. However its still their fault that it was not done properly.
- Q: toyota prius 2002 inverter water pump where is located and how to replace and buy
- The manual pages JerryJ is referencing are HV-24 through HV-28. Essentially, you drain the coolant, remove the front bumper cover and the left head light assembly to expose the pump. It is held by two bolts and has one connector and two hoses. After replacement the coolant is refilled and the system must be burped. Those two nipples at the front of the inverter have to be used, but I haven't had success piping them back to the reservoir as the manual describes. I gravity feed them into a clean jar on the floor and recycle the fluid manually. When it is done you should see strong flow in the reservoir as you look in the top with the ignition on but not ready. The level usually drops after driving around the block - top it up and enjoy.
- Q: i was wondering how hard it would be to chancge a water pump in a 1997 chrysler sebring.
- not real hard to change any cars water pump buy a new one have a look at what it looks like... look at motor see where it ..is remove whatever that is in way of it after getting it off ..you clean the old gasket off ...apply some blue Silicone put on new one and replace what you had to remove refill radiator check for leaks.. and might want to replace thermostat also if its been running hot while you there....should be able to do it in a few hours double check your job for leaks afterwards
