- Q:My Toyota 2006 Sienna has 80K miles on it and I asked the dealer to inspect the vehicle. He suggested that i replace Timing Belt, Water Pump, Drive Belt and Trans Pan Gasket. The cost of the repair comes to $1300 ($460 for Timing Belt, $350 for Water Pump, $140 for Drive Belt $370 for Pan Gasket).I'm caught by surprise with the price quoted and things to be replaced. Is the price quoted reasonable? Are these replacement common for Sienna vehicle with 80K miles? I don't know what could possibly go wrong if these are not changed for couple of months. I have an extended warranty on the vehicle for 100K miles will any of the above get covered under warranty?Any suggestions or advice is highly appreciated/
- For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awH9s Um that doesn't seem to bad to you might get it down 450 or 500 if you went to an independent shop but for a dealer 650 is not that bad plus if you ever had to do this job you would understand why it costs so much there is no part of it that doesn't sux. That's why I work on airplanes now better money and no complaints about labor cost.
- Q:water pump pulley has slight wobble in it. not seeing water yet....is bearing going bad
- Could be several things. The pulley is not on straight. The pulley itself is not truly flat when made but still within tolerances allowed by manufacturer. .Has nothing to do with the bushing(bearing) They generally wear out over time and start leaking coolant out.
- Q:What is the safety head of a pump? Why should a safety head be added?
- In fact, to prevent pipeline errors, generally take 0.5 meters margin, just in case the pipeline changes, resistance, and do not smoke Sheung Shui
- Q:there is a knocking noise coming from the water pump pulley..i think, the pulley also wiggles when its running. If that's what is wrong, how long do i have to fix it and is it hard and expensive to fix?
- No it isn't hard to fix, first loosen the little bolts on the water pump pulley, then take the belt off, then unbolt the water pump and take pulley off old pump, clean off old seal from block, put on new seal, you may have to use gasket maker or silicone, install new pump, and bolt pulley on to new pump, then reinstall belt. Oh I forgot you will have to drain the antifreeze before you start, and refill it after you are done! Start the car and let it warm up and look for leaks, if you see a leak you didn't get it sealed properly and will have to repeat the sealing process and antifreeze. Takes an hour or so to do!
- Q:i am trying to set up a small aqaurium (about 25 gallons) and i am looking for a water pump that will flow water through the aquarium for a period of time and then shut off, and do that like every hour or so. is there such a thing? a water pump with a built in timer so its not running constanly but only every so often? it doesnt need to move alot of water, but i only want it to pump maybe once every hour. thanks for the help
- Don't know why you only want to run periodicly, But at home depot they have timer switches you can plug your pump into it and set the time you want it to go on and off.
- Q:I just replaced my starter on my mustang and i when i took it out for a test drive i noticed the engine temperature rising. i drove for maybe 2 minutes max and when i parked the car it had a small amount of white smoke coming out of the engine so i let it cool down, and when it cooled down i checked the radiator, it had absolutely no anti-freeze, which is weird because i had just put a gallon of 50-50 anti-freeze maybe a week ago. So to test it i put 3 cups of water in the radiator turned her on and water was spilling from the water pump. So me and my dad have concluded we have to replace the water pump. I called up Autozone and they have a water pump replacement kit for $70. We don't have money too pay for the labor so can some1 please give me a step by step guide to replacing the water pump.
- So did you get it changed? mine just broke. do you got any pointers?
- Q:Suppose the liquid temperature range for the water pump is -20 .. 90 °C. However it should be worked under liquid temperature upto 180 °C. For this, what has to to be done?
- (edited) The physical size of the pumping arrangement was not described. I assume that the pump has all metallic components because of the high (194 F) 90degC design operating temperature. There may be some problem with an elastomeric bellows in a mechanical seal at the 180degC (356F) temperature. Other than that, there should be no problem with the temperatures as far as the pump is concerned. There may be a need for shaft cooling to protect the standard electric motor and possibly the flexible drive coupling arrangement. (edit) Depending on the physical size, rotating speed and drive arrangement, a special coupling set-up may be needed to accommodate any potentially wide swing in operating temperatures. From ambient to 180degC there will be about a 160C (288F) variation. The liquid will be either a salt or a glycol brine solution for freeze protection at the lower temperatures. (edit) That same concentration will provide some elevation of the boiling temperature and therefore a reduction of the pressure of the water solution needed to prevent boiling. ( 130 psig is the saturation pressure of plain water at that elevated temperature.) This can be found on the charts provided by the glycol suppliers for the various glycol and salt solution characteristics. To prevent cavitation you may need to pressurize the suction. If the proposed pressure of the system is already above the vapor pressure of the solution at that maximum temperature, you may already be OK. A motor with high temperature windings may be considered.
- Q:What is the reason that the water supply of pump is getting smaller?
- 1, the water pump screen plug, should remove the filter screen sundries.2, the use of lift is too high. Over the pump range, the pump should be adjusted to use height or replace the pump head.3, pump impeller plug or wear, should remove the impeller sundry. Replace the impeller if worn.4, pump outlet pipe blocked by debris, should remove the debris in the pipe outlet.5, diameter and pump does not match, replace the outlet pipe.6, the pump cover gap is too large, increased pump volume loss, should adjust the gap.7, pump body and pump cover leakage, should tighten the pump cover screw, make the pump body and pump cover close coordination.8, the pump speed is low, the use of voltage is too low. Should adjust the voltage to the rated value, replace the thicker cable or avoid peak use.9, water pump diving depth is too shallow, there is air intake, should adjust the diving depth. Pump running depth is not less than 0.5 meters.Yi Mai water pump to help you answer, I hope to help you
- Q:After the pump has the control box, but also the power distribution box, the control box and the distribution box is not the same box?
- 1, after the pump has the control box, do not need the distribution box.2. The control box is not the same as the distribution box.Wiring principle is as follows: from the distribution box power supply into the control box, L1, L2, L3 (usually so); from the control box to connect U, V, W to the water pump.
- Q:can you give me some information?
- Water pumps come in all sizes from less than one gallon per hour to over 50,000 gallons per minute. They also produce pressures on the discharge from a few inches of water to thousands of pounds per square inch. They pump water with all kinds of contaminates and chemicals dissolved in the water. Finally they can have all kinds of service conditions from a few minutes at a time once a day to continuous operation. All of these factors enter into what you need to have a good quality pump.
