Q: I have a well water pump and the motor seems to just run but won't transfer water through the line, checked for leakage, etc but no signs. Even tried priming it but it does nothing. Any idea of what could be wrong or how to repair this problem?
If the captive air tank has failed you should still get some water flow. if you are not getting any flow and the pump is spinning then the pump may need to be replaced. There is also a pressure switch that may have failed but if that were the case you would have got flow unless the pump burned up. so, bottom line is this. 1) turn power off. let a tiny bit of air out of the Schroeder valve on the captive air tank. if water comes out, the tank is bad. make sure to fill the tank up to about 40psi. 2)turn power off. remove the cover of the pressure switch and clean with compressed air. move the switch back and forth. sand the contacts with emory cloth. 3) if the tank was good turn the power back on and make sure all the valves are open (even the ones you havent touched) if you are still not getting water you should probably call a plumber. most likely at this point you have a bad switch or tank and it has caused your pump to burn up. good luck
Q: How can I do a pressure test on my 350's water pump. Some one suggested I do it to make sure it needs replacing.
Pressure testing requires a device that attaches to the top of your radiator which allows you to pump air into the system. This test will not always reveal a bad pump however. Find the weep hole (usually on the bottom of the water pump) and look for signs of leakage. If you see coolant you need a pump. Also grab the top of the fan and wiggle it if the belt pulley moves you need a pump.

Q: I recently bought a 01 firebird trans am. was doing some maintenance on it. basic stuff, tune up, serpentine belt, break flush, and a coolant flush. The mechanic raised my car up and asked when I'm replacing my water pump.Seeing that it was leaking...but the liquid wasn't green, more or less brown and it didn't have any particular smell, but its not coming from the oil pan. Usually when a water pump goes bad,it either makes an obnoxious noise from bad bearings or you'll notice coolant seeping or dripping from the little weep hole on it.Seems like it didn't get flushed properly or the brown colored coolant you're noticing was there already before you done work on it.Pressure wash the engine to make things easier to see.Seems like the car would be overheating a little if the pump was completely gone out.Its a good idea to replace things like this on higher mileage cars to avoid bein stranded on the side of the road

Q: Ok, simple question, on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. The water pump sucks water (not push) through the heater core correct? So the flow of water goes from the block, through the heater core, into the water pump, right?
If you have air pockets it will block water flow, usually to the heater core, since this is the highest point in the system. To remove air pockets, do the following. Make sure engine is cold. Jackup front of car, park on a steep incline or drive on ramps to raise the front of the vehicle. Remove the radiator cap. Run the engine a bit. This should move the air pockets out the filler neck of the radiator. Turn off engine, top off fluid and put cap back on.

Read the warranty carefully. I doubt they will easily admit their fault and offer to pay for damages. You might have to take them to court, but that means spending money on attorney fees, court fees, and risking losing even more. Tough luck, man.

Usually they look for an underwater spring or reservoir, then they drill or dig into it. From there, they either instal a pump or use it as a well. As for how it works, refer to water pressure.
