- Q: I've heard it can be done, but I sure don't want to make a quot;not too badquot; carpet any worse! I'm wanting to make a light carpet darker. Any suggestions?
- Let me know how it turns out, my mother recently bought a house with turquoise green high quality carpet/pad which she is reluctant to rip out because of the great quality and condition of the carpet. I suggested dyeing the carpet but dont know anyone who has done it . Good luck!
- Q: Hello,my roomate had are carpets cleaned with a Kirby Sentria Vacuum last night. I was gone when it happend or else I would have asked more about the chemical they were using to clean it. Does anyone know if it is toxic? Thanks in advance!
- certainly it particularly is nutty as a squirrel to me. i'm able to work out how they're in debt. Spend without a quiet down era to think of in the event that they want it, in the event that they prefer it, in the event that they haven't any opposite direction of cleansing. via the way, I additionally very own Dyson and think of it particularly is barely outstanding. Kirby's used to misrepresent the certainty of their presentation/sales pitch years in the past. lower back then it became $3000 the place I lived. thankfully i did no longer get tempted as I in simple terms did no longer have the money. Years later i chanced on a great number of the Kirby vac's on the marketplace in 2nd hand places and stuff like that. in the event that they have been so warm, why did human beings could deliver them off to retire? and that i additionally observed some in a vac save being repaired! The little chap who confirmed me one in simple terms approximately advised me it became unbreakable for 30 years. Oh via the way, do no longer help your individuals financially any further. you're permitting their dependancy to spending. fairly, get them involved in some on line websites on budgetting and coping with much less, saving and the assumption of repaying till now you dig yet another hollow on you cash. it particularly is the kindest concern you're able to do, have confidence me. Cheers Lisa
- Q: It started out as a small black printer ink on the carpet. I tried to use WD40, then Jax, now it looks like a giant orange/light black circle! How can I get rid of this? PLEASE HELP ME!
- do no longer understand what sort of ink. If ball factor ink attempt spraying hairspray on it and blot sprayed section with sparkling fabric. Take care to no longer smudge or unfold stain. try hidden part of carpet to comprehend if colour quickly earlier doing any stain elimination. Oxyclean is notably solid too reckoning on the kind of ink. the kind of ink might possibly dictate what you used to get rid of it besides as what your carpet is made up of. i might evaluate sort of ink and what the carpet fiber is and then act hence. Hair spray works great on outfits it relatively is polyester and or mixed with cotton. proceed with warning.
- Q: It's like a Persian rug (much less expensive--a rustic rug for our lodge-style home that's perfect as a wallhanging, but we want to hang the rug like a tapestry using velcro against a velcro-stapled board (as they do in museums). The problem is that the weaving is so virtually impenetrable that I'm breaking needles, fraying thread, creating callouses, dying a slow death :-) This will take me next to forever. There must be a better way than doing this by hand. Or, am I simply using the wrong equipment? I'm using curved upholstery needles, thimbles, upholstery thread (the thread often frays or comes out of its knot!), pliers (for the intense pushing of the needles through the shield-like rug backing. Please help!I just need to sew a two-inch strip that's about 6 ft. in length, but I've spent half a day sewing about 3 inches!
- Instead of sewing on the Velcro, use a stapler, with the flat side of the staple on the back of the rug. The bent prongs will be hidden in the nap of the weave on the front side. If you have to sew it, use a very thick upholstry needle, or one for counted cross stitch. The needle is very heavy and has a broad eye. Use a small piece of rubbery plastic to grip the needle as it goes through the Velcro and rug. Use quilting thread or buttonhole twist, doubled and run through a piece of candle or beeswax.
- Q: We have a wall-to-wall berber carpet, and we want to make it into a smaller area rug (perhaps 9'7quot; x 11quot;). Has anyone done this sort of thing before? If so, what was the approximate cost, and who did you call to service it? I tried some local carpet stores to no avail. Thanks for your input.
- Local carpet stores don t have access to a rug binder? Thats strange.. Look further, when I had my store we had a place that picked up and dropped off our carpet we needed to have bound or surged..It was a week turn around time for us. But to answer you question yes you can have a pc done any size , shape or form. Some additional options are a felt backing sewn on as an anti slip mat.Surging ran our custumers about 2.5 $ a l/f. and binding was $2.00 a l/f.. Of course this can vary but it ll put you in the ballpark , price wise.. Some carpet guys have a binding machine to bind edges for when they do a carpet base like a lot of hotels use instead of a wood base.Any flooring questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL.
- Q: Im laying carpet in my house and was doing some online shopping and came across carpet tiles an easier much cheaper slternative to carpet. My question is are they worth it and can you tell its tiled when your done? And how long do they last
- Carpet Tiles are sort of the DIY answer to laying carpet, since some people find the thought of unrolling the whole 12' roll and cutting it to be a bit daunting. Most of them will come with a 6-8lb pad attached to the bottom, but some come as a flat lay commercial style as well. They're comparable to the actual rolled carpet, but over time they are a bit quicker to show wear and fray, and the visibility of seams really depends on the installation. With the newer technologies, they've made it so they blend in very well, but only if put down properly. The lasting factor comes down to how you treat the carpet and what kind of warranty it has. Obviously, the one with lesser warranties will go a bit quicker, but the same can be said for high traffic areas vs. low traffic. On average, they don't last quite as long as standard roll carpets. I usually see them installed in basements or sitting rooms, not usually entry ways or bedrooms. Just make sure you do some research on the brands and check the warranties before purchasing, and good luck if you do decide to go through with it :)
- Q: I have carpet in my great room. The color is desert sand. I have two small children who have spilled drinks and other things and stained the carpet in several places. Is there a home remedy to cleaning this carpet without having to hire Stanley Steamer or rent a rug doctor? I have a Bissel steam cleaner, but it just doesn't do the job.
- the stains go into the pad.....and when you shampoo it, it only removes the surface stains, then the stains in the padding seep up through the carpet.. you can forget kool-aid stains ever coming ouy of carpet.. you can replace the pad, then shampoo the carpet yourself. or put tile or laminate flooring in the room where the children are.laminate flooring has come down in price.
- Q: I'm stage managing a production of quot; And Then There Were Nonequot; and the director wants a bear skin rug to use on the set.Any ideas of where to get one (preferably not too expensive) ?Thanks!
- just buy a faux fur rug from walmart and cut it into the shape of a bear... that's my suggestion lol not like the audience will see it that well
- Q: Well I have a bleach carpet stain and it's 6 by 6inches my parents is gonna killz me doods! If there a way I can get it out or is there a way to make it cost less then 100dollars to replace the carpet and it's color is ivy gold
- When I did a search for ivy gold, I found cars. Is this a carpet in a car? If so, try you local junk yard for a replacement carpet.
- Q: we have some stains on the carpet and wanted to now if we could use zout on the carpets????????
- . Can Zout? stain remover be used on carpet or upholstery? A. We do not suggest using Zout? on upholstery or carpet because, as a super concentrated surfactant based product, it needs to rinse thoroughly. When not rinsed properly, soap will collect dirt. If Zout? has been used on upholstery or carpet, rinse until no soapsuds appear using a wet/dry vacuum or a carpet/upholstery cleaning machine. So that's a no.
