Q: Does anyone have any links to a SPECIFIC area rug that will go with a black sofa? I have an apt with medium brown wood pallette floors, and white walls. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
You're in luck, ANYTHING will go with black, medium, and white!! What other major accessories do you have? A painting? A lamp? SOMETHING with some color? OR: Do it up with the rug! GO willy-nilly with a new rug, define your area, and then accessorize AFTER the rug is in!! Good luck; I'm sure it'll look GREAT!
Q: How to deal with the chewing gum on the hotel guest room carpet
stir up the carpet, apply edible oil in the back of the place with gum coated , after a few minutes the chewing gum can be taken down, and then thoroughly clean grease on the carpet.
Q: my room isnt very big...how much (approximately ) will a new carpet cost??
Measure carpet in feet. If room is 9' 6 (6 is half of 1') it is 9 1/2'. Now you have measurements of the room. Go to carpet store. Because it is a small room, you may be able to get a remnant. Remnant is new carpet that was leftover from their large rolls - - they are cheaper than cutting it from the big roll. You may get a carpet for $100 depending on size of carpet you need and the quality of carpet you are seeking.
Q: how do you remove a moldy smell from carpet?
Get a new carpet..there are some products that can get the mold smell out of other things but for carpeting then smell is all the way down in the padding.
Q: Have anyone bought any rug recently from Direct Rugs USA? wanted to get some reviews of direct rugs usa before buying from them.please share if you have bought rugs from them before. I want to know quality and service.
Hey, yes. we got one rug from them and it arrived less than a week and I am pretty happy the way it look and the price was also good. the 6x8 costed me under $40. I needed something to match my budget and they had good prices and it was what I wanted. I would recommend them if you looking to stay in budget.
Q: colour-not quiter pink-not orange-2 choices I have seen- background medium to lighter green rug with same paprika colour it-abstact pattern or background almost same as sofas with some light green and light blue--is it better to have mor colour that matches sofas or introduce new coulor and pop the sofa colour in it? Help please? Thanks so much!
Hi there, I am a professional interior designer for almost 20 years. Absolutely find a rug that has mostly contrasting colors. Green is a great choice because it is the complimentary color of red which is in the same family as paprika. The best shade of green to use is moss or a more muted green. Try to stay away from anything that has too bright of a green shade it may compete too much with the paprika sofa. It would be great to find something that has paprika and maybe ivory or white accents. This will pull all the colors together. Try adding some very textural white or ivory pillows to the sofa to soften the texture of leather. This will make the white walls appear intentional. Also, try to find some artwork that incorporates the green and paprika; this is where you can bring in another splash of color maybe blue or gold. Last but not least an awesome touch for a room such as this will be to find some large paprika color pots a few different sizes and add some indoor plants (silk is fine if you can find some realistic versions). If you combine all these elements guaranteed you will have a really great space to enjoy! Good luck and have fun!!!
Q: I have a tan/white colored carpet..its a normal carpet, the threads are about ? inches long. One time i used a carpet cleaner (and didnt read the directions) and sprayed the carpet and left it to soak there for a few minutes...now the carpet spot is yellow...Any way to fix the unfixable?other than getting a new carpet..
I personally prefer Woolite SpotShot for those little carpet mishaps. But not sure if that would fix your problem. I have seen Martha Stewart use OxiClean to whiten and remove stains from antique table linens. When doing so, she allows the item to soak in the Oxiclean for as long as 24 hours. I don't think OxiClean would harm your carpet. And at this stage how much harm could it do? I would apply it liberally and reapply from time to time to keep it damp until the stain disappears, up to several hours or even a day. If no cleaner works, is covering the stain with a rug or piece of furniture an option? There might be some way to cut out the stained area and replace with a remnant of unstained carpet, if necessary taking the unstained piece from a closet floor or from under a large piece of furniture. But I don't know how you would secure the patch down. Maybe your carpet supplier could suggest a method or be willing to do it for you. Hope something in that helps you somehow.
Q: How to do if the carpet shed hair?
Some of the quality of the carpet after the hair did not do it more to do with a vacuum cleaner to clean or with a hand brush hair device to deal with the bedroom to use the blanket off the dust with the air to enter the respiratory system air to create a health hazard
Q: I am currently in the process of switching apartments need some quick/cheap ways to remove old and hard as heck to remove stains from my carpet, so that the management won't make me pay for the stains!!!xtra info- the carpet is older , it's your basic cheap carpet and is beige/cream in color!!!Any ideas/solutions will be greatly appreciated, just remember I want the cheapest, most effective quickest ways to remove stains from older carpet!!!
First cheapest way. Warm water and white vinegar 50/50 solution. You want to dilute the stain not drown the area 4 beyond the spot. This lifts dirt, grime stains. It will not harm the cheapo carpet. If this is a long time stain from furniture or ink, food, or who knows then you may want to try an Oxy or Resolvebased cleaning product. IMPORTANT. Test the cleaner in a patch of carpet in you closet if it has carpet to see if a big lightening/discoloring of the carpet occurs. The labeling on the can will tell you something like this. The biggest issue that move-er-outers face is spot clean if leaves clean carpet spots that highlight the dirty rest of the carpet. Carpet stains that fail to come out are also highlighted as well like really well! Red stains, furniture stain stains, and ink stain s are toughest to remove.
