Q: I have an area rug that my poodle urinates on when she's mad at me. Long story short she did it again while I was out and I didn't find it until it was dry and smelling up my apartment. Does anyone have tips on how to clean the rug myself without renting a shampooer and maybe how to deodorize the rug. I've tried fabreese and the baking soda stuff you leave on the carpet and vacuum up later. they didn't seem to work before so If anyone has anything else to suggest I'd be most grateful. Thanks
once its dry its a lot harder to clean, sometime however you can trick the stain. Using your steam iron, steam the spot where the dog peed, don't put the iron on the carpet it can melt/burn it, just let the steam soak into the stain for a couple minutes. Then clean it as though it were still wet
Q: How do you clean the stubborn stains on the carpet in a simple way?
If you have a pet at home, you know, pets smell when they play on the carpet. Pour four cups of vinegar in four litres of warm water. Soak the towel and wring it. Wipe the carpet over and over, then leave it in the air for dry airing. In addition to eliminating the peculiar smell of pets and carpets after a long period of use, this method can prevent carpet fading and discoloration. If the pet pee on the carpet, the new urine stains can be washed with warm water or 10% ammonia water, but for a long time, stains should first be washed with detergent, and then washed with ammonia. If it is a pure wool carpet for citric acid cleaning.
Q: I have a large family room - 25 x 16 feet. I currently have a 9x12 rug on one side and want to add another on the other side of the room. The rug that works best with my existing rug only comes in 5'8x9 or 8'8x10. The first seems a little small and the second a little big. Can you have two large rugs in one room or does that overpower the room? I would only have about 14 between the two rugs if I went with the larger rug. It seems like it would look like a little landing strip. But I don't want the small one to look like a postage stamp. What to do?
It depends on what you are going to put on it. You could turn the other rug so they won't be so close together.
Q: What about carpet foaming?
Powder cleaning: Sprinkle the powder onto the carpet, then brush it and then vacuum it. This method is not cleaned by water. After cleaning, you can walk on the carpet, but the cleaning power is poor.Spray cleaning: spray the lotion onto the carpet, wipe with foam pad and absorb the stain. This method uses less water and can be washed within a short period of time. But not very suitable for woolen carpets.Warm water stains: use spray and vacuum cleaners to spray warm water onto the carpet, then vacuum it immediately. This operation is simple, do not hurt the pile.
Q: i stained my carpet with grape juice yesterday and i want to get it out
I would start with heavily applying Nature's Miracle to the area, work the carpet fibers with a rag, and leave it to sit. You want to saturate the carpet fiber, but you do not want to soak the area so much that it gets down to the pad. Wet pad can cause odors, mold, and mildew. The Hoover carpet cleaner is no harder to use than a vacuum cleaner. Fill the solution reservoir with cleaning solution and work the area to be cleaned. Usually, you squeeze the solution application trigger on the push stroke, which applies the solution and works it into the carpet fiber. Release the trigger and draw the machine back and it will suck up the spent solution. Make several dry passes with the machine to suck up as much moisture as possible. Follow that up by rinsing with clean, clear, hot water once or twice, again do not over wet the carpet and make several dry passes until you can't suck up any more water. Let the carpet completely dry and repeat the rinse cycle if the previous rinses were overly dirty or still produced carpet cleaner foam in the rinse water. I've found Rug Doctor cleaning products to be the best available. You can enhance any cleaning solution's ability with the use of Oxy Clean crystals. Oxy Clean can also be used as a pre-treatment spray to loosen dirt and grime from carpet fibers before the cleaning process begins.
Q: I recently moved and in my old place I noticed that my rug stained the linoleum. Now that I have moved, I really want to take care of my new place and was wondering if there is any way to prevent this staining?
There are a few types out there ,but the one I m familar with is calles Rug Hold.. It s a thin rubberymat you put under your rugs to hold them down and wont react w/ your vinyl like the backing is know to your vinyl.. Ashphalt drives are a big problem (tracking in the oils) because the petroleum based products react w/ each other and causes the yellow stains you see.. Check any product like this and get the 1 for your needs.. They make them for wood and carpet etc The nice thing is they can be tossed in washer when they do lose tackeyness and be renewedGL
Q: Hello, I need to buy a big, squared burgundy rug (or in any dark red for that matter).I want to cover a room thats 16.6 x16.6 ft It would be fine if doesnt to cover the whole room, Im just looking for possibilities. Nothing fancy, its only to cover horrible flooring.Do you know any online stores that would sell them for a low price?BTW, Im willing to buy a used one and my budget is $400. Thank you!

Q: This must sound like a really dumb question, but...I'm still a novice with horses, and one of my stable jobs is putting rugs on the horses to be turned out.And I have quite a lot of trouble getting the rugs on, especially as the horses are 17-18 hands, and the rugs are volumus! I end up with them spilling about in my arms, and by the time the thing is on the horses back, it's inside-out! I feel such an idiot when people are watching me!I wonder if anyone here could give me some tips, especially on how to have the rug before putting it on, and how to actually get it up on the horses back in the first place, without getting in a mess.
The trick is to flatten the rug out on the ground upside down, hold the front of the rug either side of the neck opening. Swing the rug up and over the horse so that the rug lands the right side up. This needs to be done at the right speed so that the rug sails over the back of the horse and lands in the middle... Think of a matador's cape.
Q: My carpet is only 4 1/2 years old and in good shape with no big stains. My only complaint is that it's too light. Someone suggested having my carpet dyed a darker color, but I've never heard of anyone doing that before. Has anyone had this done before or know anyone who has? If so, what are the pro's and con's? Thanks :)
