FAQ

Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?

Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.

Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.

Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?

All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.

Q:We were looking to get a few rooms professionally cleaned in our home. However, what is the biggest diff btw. Chem-dry places and regular companies, like COIT or Stanley Steemer. We know the thing about no liquid/water, but does that make a diffference? Anything else? Because the cost between the 2 is quite a bit, so we were wondering if it makes up for it. Thanks!
Go to Angies List on the web and you should be able to find many cleaners with reviews, I have used Angies list before with good results! Good luck.
Q:Is Kirby Vacuum Cleaners a scam?
A COSTLY VENTURE... VERY COSTLY...
Q:I have long hair and it gets all over the carpet. The vacuum cleaner is meant to be a good strong one but it can't manage the hair. At best it will put it into clumps. I have to pick it up manually and it's very annoying. Why won't the vacuum cleaner work? Will another one work or am I doomed?
its not your vacuum cleaners fault. its the fact that your hair sticks to the carpets fibre so well. i have this same problem and my vacuum isnt good enough to do the job. what i do, is a get a broom. it must be very strong and have strong brissles. dont use the pathetic soft broom. the broom i use, is kind of like a scribbing broom used to scrub tiles. so basically just use it like a vacuum cleaner, and it will pick up all that hair from your carpet :)
Q:what is the best bagged vacuum cleaner? I'm tired of the bagless cleaners and looking for one with a bag.?
I am going through the same thing. I hate my bagless. My sister just bought an orek and she loves it. They are pretty expensive so she found a lightly used one on OKorder and it works great. It's really quiet and light. She has a two year old that was pretrified by vacuums but this one is so quiet, she doesn't mind it.
Q:Are there any vacuum cleaners that have a charcoal filter? If so, what's the cheapest one?
not that i know of . and it would be better to get one with a hepa filterthey trap more dirt than regular filters and that means less allergys and irritants in the air for you.
Q:is there a place that will let you rent vacuum cleaners for like a few hours or a day?
I think so.I know at Publix, they rent out steam cleaners for the carpet.Google and ask people in your area.I am sure someone knows. They sell cheap $20 vacs at Walmart though. It is probably cheaper.
Q:I had a dyson vacuum it was terrible! it was heavy as hell and made of all cheap chinese plastic. I see oreck has some cheaper and more modern looking vacuums these days. Any serious opinions?
My Dyson vacuum cleaner was absolutely the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned! I had two cats, one of whom was a long-haired Maine Coon and I killed several vacuum cleaners trying to keep my house clean. The last one prior to the Dyson was a Kenmore that was in the shop every month due to clogging. It was always under warranty so it didn't cost me anything to get it fixed, but it kept breaking. One day, I was so fed up with the whole thing that I spent the money on a Dyson and never regretted it. When I moved overseas, I kept very few items . . . I kept the Dyson. It's in a storage unit, waiting to be used again. Sure, it's ugly, but it does the job like no other. Good luck on your search for a better one.
Q:I am looking for two vacuums... One so I can clean around the house, and a hand held with a hose for the stairs. I don't want to pay a fortune, and I would rather not pay over $50.00 for a handheld. I would like to stay in the range of $150.00 for the regular vac. Thanks.
buy a dustbuster and a black dirtdevil upright. you shouldn't spend much more than $100.
Q:I'm looking to buy one, but don't see any quality reviews, so let's see what the yahoosers say.
Bissell have a very good one.
Q:Any one have any idea what it is or how much it will cost to have it repaired. (VA./ D.C. area)
All Miele vacuum cleaners have an over-heating sensor built in. It should activate, shutting off the power, when the motor gets too hot. Usually this happens because there is a clog in the hose or the vacuum itself, which causes the motor to overheat. Disconnect the suction hose. Turn the vacuum on. Put your fingers over the intake. If it feels like the suction is great and the motor sound happy, reconnect the hose. If the motor sounds unhappy (whining, grumbling, acting like this is hard work), you have a clog. Either take it to a vacuum repair shop or research vacuum clog and take it from there. (A coat-hanger often works).
