FAQ
Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?
Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.
Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.
Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?
All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.
- Q: Can anyone tell me which upright vacuum cleaners were rated top 10 in Consumers Report for 2007? Thanks!
- I don't take much stock in consumer Reports evaluations. they seem biased to low end or mid range items, which I think are junk.
- Q: Me and my boyfriend have quite long hair. Mine to my waist, his almost halfway down his back. Very thick. The problem is we always destroy vacuum cleaners, from all the hairs we shed. Any ideas for special vacuum cleaners, tips, etc?
- Get a good quality vacuum, use it often enough so it doesn't have to handle a lot of hair at one time, and clean hair away from the rotating brush and belt often. Every vacuum there is will have the same problem of long hair gumming up the belt but a good one will handle it somewhat better. And I mean one that costs more than $200. You get what you pay for.
- Q: What is the internal voltage and current in the US/Canada home appliances? The question is NOT quot;what is the input voltagebut what is the actual energy that makes the work - for example the power that drives the motor of a vacuum cleaner, or the power that makes your microwave work. I think, before the actual work is done, the current from the plug outlet is converted inside the device, and that converted energy is used to make the device work. So, what are the INTERNAL power/voltage/current of the following devices and are they AC or DC?: vacuum cleaner, microwave oven, fridge, and clothes dryer? What other devices are there that that have internal voltage/current of about 12-16 volts at 60-110 amperes, preferably at DC? Thank you.
- there is a spec come with all the appliance.check bak with ur manual.
- Q: Does any store sell steam cleaners that you can use yourself instead having someone else come to your home every time you need to touch up the floor?
- Wall Mart, K Mart, Meijers, just about any store carries them. I would get the one with attachments os you can get into corners and do the furniture if you decide too. You can also get the little green machine for touch up jobs
- Q: why do we use the word vacuum? is a vacuum created inside the appliance?
- Fan blades turned by a motor create a suction (partial vacuum' inside the machine which sucks up the dirt. It's similar to you drinking a liquid with a straw. You stick one end of the straw into the liquid and suck on the other end. You create a vacuum inside the straw and it sucks up the liquid to fill the empty space (vacuum).
- Q: Why does my dog hate vacuum cleaners, broom and dust pans, mops, iron, ironing board, and mixer?

- Q: I currently have a Bissell bagless. It just seems where I live (rural area) I am vacuuming 3-4 times a week and although I take the vacuum apart and clean regularly, it just doesn't seem to pick-up like I think it should. Anyone have an opinion on the Dyson vacuum cleaners? I am considering purchasing one and would like to know what you like or dislike about it. Thank you
- I have the purple dyson animal 07. I love it for the most part. You wouldn't believe how much that thing picked up the first time, and still picks up. That being said, I got a special deal on mine or I wouldn't have bought it. It was on sale at Kohls for $450, and then I got about $100 Kohls cash back when I purchased it, and a $100 Kohl's gift card by mail, making the Dyson about $250. It's a good vacuum, but not worth $500. There are comparable vacuums out there in the $200- $300 range (Oreck IS NOT one of them, don't get an Oreck). It's very easy to empty, but here's the thing, no matter how good the suction is, the roller still gets clogged and tangled with hair. I have long hair, and we have a golden retriever, so I'm cleaning that roller about every other week. And it makes a really bad sound when it gets too tangled. But I think that would be the case with any vacuum. It is easy to use, and pretty. I think the attachments are also a little pricey. I do like the cleaner, Zorba, that comes with it.
- Q: I am lokoing for some suggestions on the best vacuums for a house with a dog that sheds CONSTANTLY. The fur keeps clogging my upright, so I think I am going to go with a canister vac, however, I do not want to spend a lot of money. Any thoughts.
- I am 49 yrs old. I have had every type of vacuum under the sun. Phatoms, Eureka's, Dirt Devils, everything, but after going through vacuums almost every 3-4 years, I had had enough. I went for a DYSON. It's awesome. I'm at a place in my life where we could afford a nicer vacuum. It NEVER loses suction. I'm a vacuuming fanatic. I don't feel my house is clean, unless it's vacuumed. I have the swivel head Dyson and love it. Well worth the money you pay for it. Lowe's has the best price, unless it goes on sale somewhere in which Lowes WILL match the competitors price.
- Q: My bagless vacuum is about 1 year old. We change our HEPA filter and the round filter under the dirt trap, clean the washable sponge as instructed. Recently, all of a sudden the machine smells really bad like a dead body is inside the machine. Anyone with a solution?
- you should try checking the belt on the machine, if it is worn or something is caught in it, it will smell bad.
- Q: Washing MachinesVacuum CleanersDishwashersDryersElectric IronsHand held hair dryers
- Individually, the time line could spread out over 60 or 70 years. As a whole, there are still items on your list that are not common in all homes. For instance, when I was married my wife did the dishwashing by hand and now I still do it the same way. I have no need for a hair dryer but if I did, what other type would I be likely to use in my home other than a hand held?
