- I hope you didn't try anything drastic to remove the stain. The best thing would've been to own up to your mom and then try to get the stain out the proper way. You didn't tell us what the sofa was made of. Of course if it is leather or vinyl, it would be a lot easier to clean. Anyway, I've found that carpet shampoo and a soft-bristled brush work great for stains on my sofa which is covered in fabric. First gently work carpet shampoo foam into stain. (Before using carpet shampoo, test an area under the couch or in an un-seen area to make sure the cleaner doesn't have a color reaction on your couch. I use 409 carpet cleaner and really like it. It works on everything.) Use a damp sponge to wipe away foam. Let area dry; then vacuum using brush attachment. You can also do a search (Yahoo, Google) and probably find lots of answers.

- You can't take off fixed cushions because, by definition, they are fixed in place. What you might try is getting a used sofa without fixed cushions. That way you can remove the cushions and re-upholster them before you resell it and go back to your sofa without fixed cushions.
- Q: How can I remove candle wax from a microfiber sofa?
- I would say use ice to harden the wax and peel it off gently, that may be the best thing to do. You can also place a towel over the wax then with a warm iron go over the spot where the wax is at... but I dont know how the microfiber would react to that--- maybe you can try it on a dicreet spot first see if the iron doesnt ruin it.

- How could you NOT notice something like that? I would call an upholstery shop. Please don't try something someone here suggests, it could ruin your sofa. You need to speak to a professional. Normally leather doesn't absorb liquids Wow, someone said to use bleach - not unless you want to ruin your sofa!
