Q: I just bought three sofa yesterday, but I felt that it was too rushed and does not feel confident that it will look good. I already have a dark beige loveseat with black end tables and black coffee table. What I just bought are 2 brown orange-ish recliner chair and a black leather chair with ottoman. Does these color match? or perhaps too dark for the room? What should I do to make it more cheerful? Should I add more flowery pillows?I'm confused...: Do not add anything flowery...the colours sound great to me. Add red/rust colour pillows or a throw in that colour as well. Deep red candles will spice it up too.

Q: We already have a fabric (slate blue color) recliner that is only about 6 yrs old, perfect condition that we have no intention (at this time) of replacing.With this new tax refund MAYBE coming this summer ($2100 WHOOOO HOOOO) I would like to replace our sofa/love seat. Or would going w/ a tan/darker tan/khaki color not look right? Our carpet is tan.: You could get leather, as leather will go with anything. However, there are a lot of styles and qualities of leather sofas. If you have a lot of kids and pets, I would wait on the leather. Go to a furniture store and look at what they have. Most stores have a designers section where you can check out fabric samples. I would suggest getting a durable fabric with a high # rating that will last for years and... get one that is in a print with lots of different colors (easier to hide spills and stains).

This will ensure superior quality in the internal structure and longevity of the furniture. Corner blocks annd support blocks give additional strength and durability. Seat foundations should be constucted with either 8 way hand tied spring seating, heavy guage sinuous wire or synthetic webbing. Foundations should be connected together by cross wires to provide leveled support and superior comfort. Back foundations should feature heavy guage sinuous wire support as well. Double layers of springs should be used on all arm ends to reinforce strength in that area. Springs and clips used throughout construction should be coated with a protective finish to prolong the longevity of the sofa. Seat cushions should have high density foam cores wrapped with layers of feather/down blends and then fiber. This will provide longevity and a beautiful crown to give the ultimate in seating comfort and durability. Fabrics should meet tests recommended by the American Society for Testing and Materials to ensure seam strength, wearability and stretch tolerance. Upholstering of fabrics to frames should consist of an application that coordinates both horizontal and vertical pattern to ensure a finished design. Fine, quality furniture manufacturers offer warranties on upholstered pieces. They should cover the life of the original fabric on the frame to be free of defect or workmanship. Seat backs and spring constructions should also be warranted. Cushioning and padding materials should be warranted agains loss of resiliency under normal household use at least for a period of five years. Seam separation, shrinkage, dye transference, fabric failure and failure to provide normal wear and tear should also be covered.

Q: My 4 month old pekepoo stuck his face in my large mug of hot Starbucks Sumatra coffee with skim milk.Then, he sneezed and spit the coffee all over the leather sofa and threw up on the carpet. Does the coffee and pekepoo spit have a long term detrimental effect on the sofa, even if I wipe it up?The sofa also faces similar assaults on occasion from his wet feet. I try to keep him off it but sometimes he is too fast for me. If I wipe up the moisture, is it still bad for the sofa and is there anything I should treat the sofa with to make it less likely this will harm it in the long term?: Wipe down the sofa with warm water on a soft rag. Consider washing it with saddle soap. I have only used it on shoes, handbags and boots, so no idea how long this will take. You can find it with shoe police at your local store. Or there may be some type of leather treatment cream that will restore the look of your sofa. As for the dog, consider getting a blanket that stretches all the way across the seat of the sofa, fold it in half lengthwise, and insert long pieces of aluminum foil between the layers. Put this on the sofa. Dogs and cats hate it and will avoid the sofa. It will protect the sofa when you cannot. Be sure to tuck it in firmly around the edges when you are not at home. (It will look fine if you choose a blanket that goes with the decor; try it first with something you have on hand.)

Q: besides the huge price difference is there a different feel? Ive heard the look is so similar its hard to determine which is which but does one feel softer or more flexible than the other? Q: My husband and I recently bought a house and I am in the process of painting and decorating. The previous owners left their sofa and love seat. The sofa is brown and the material is almost suede-like. I really like the sofa, but the love seat is HIDEOUS. It has a horrible pattern of pinks and greens, and it is torn in some places. I would just toss it, but it is super comfortable. Instead, I am going to buy a slipcover for it. My question is, should I get a matching brown cover, or would a light beige one look okay with it. It is a smallish living room with old hardwood floors that doesn't get a ton of light. Eventually I want to paint it a pale blue with white trim. So what do you think? Would the beige be better to avoid bringing more dark colors into the room or would they look weird together? Thanks in advance!: Since you are getting a slip cover that can be changed out you can actually get both eventually and swap them like you do sheets on your bed, washing them after changing them out. The beige would compliment the brown and lighten the space, so maybe get that one first. The brown would be great to interchange once the room is painted the lighter blue you mentioned wanting. Just be sure that any throw pillows compliment both shades so they don't seem out of place on one of the couches.

Q: I am looking for new furniture and I like the modern and contemporary designs but I also want a sofa that can recline and can't find one in those styles. Anyone know of companies that make these? Thanks in advance! :o): Did you check La-Z-Boy? They have all different styles. I bought reclining chairs that dont even look like recliners - they have wooden feet and no lever.
