- Frankly, I don't think you are going to get anywhere with this. I would try to see if they would give you some money instead of recovering the sofa. If you get it recovered, the recovered parts won't match the rest of it. I'd see if they will give you a cash settlement. These kinds of warranties are really not worth much! Ask for cash!

- Chew, claw and ultimately destroy unless it is trained not to. What worked for me is this: Put a dishtowel over the arm of the sofa with most of it hanging down. Put a light paperback book on the edge of the towel on the arm of the sofa. When the cat goes to claw at the towel, the book falls and startles them. They soon learn to stay off the sofa. Good luck

- Ask a furniture salesperson for a curved wedge sectional sofa. Most sectionals are made from a sofa with 2 arms and a sofa with one arm and they fit together in a corner. What you want a sectional that is two sofas with arms only on the opposite sides and a curved wedge to join them. This is not hard to find in cloth or leather. It is my preference because no one wants to sit in the square corner but someone will sit in the curve. Good choice. Consider a suede microfiber with a texture if leather is too expensive. It will wear well, won't stain. Get a leather that does not scratch with your fingernail.

Bitter Apple (sold in pet stores) for coating wires usually works. And double sided sticky tape for scratching is a good for discouraging your kitten. And dusting areas with talcum will cover up their scent they left from their paws, and also offends their nose. As far as the mattress box springs, for him it is a game.
