- Q: It wont do any damage will it?
- Don't do that!! It will kill your video card almost instantly. The 8 pin connector is meant for the motherboard (on most computers) so the 8 pin power cable will output a lot more power than the 6 pin. Your graphics card will be cooked if you do that. Too much voltage will kill your card immediately. Plus how is a 8 pin connector supposed to fit into a 6 pin port? I would be quite surprised if it can actually fit. Go and purchase a power supply with a 6 pin connector, it's for the good of your computer.
- Q: Okay after installing Deus Ex on a brand new PS3 slim I pressed the start button and when the screen went black the console hanged, I couldn't even press the PS button, at the suggestion of a friend I yanked the power cable. Now it works fine but I'm wary of putting Deus Ex back in, I doubt that its regioning since there's no such thing. Any ideas and troubleshooting solutions?BTW what are the consequences to yanking the power cable.
- If pulling the power cord was the *only* way to turn it off, that's ok, you just don't want to do it frequently. As for the game itself, the only thing I can think of is to make sure other games work. If so, then something about the game itself is causing the fault, but not sure what. If anything, I would say contact Sony for assistance in that regard.
- Q: There is currently a power cable going into the back of my primary sata hard drive but i want to put another hard drive in but there is not another power cable
- I would try going to a nearby hardware store or electronics store that deals with computers and explain your situation to them. They can probably figure something out.
- Q: I need to select a power cord for a computer and other appliances (like a printer). Power cords usually have their amps and voltage (capacities?) imprinted on the outside. What is the rule of thumb for selecting a power cord and why?For example, if my printer has the following requirements:Power Source AC 120V 50/60 HzPower Consumption - 5W-350WWhat amp/voltage type of power cord will do the job?I am of course concerned about overloading the cord with too much electric requirements.(People who actually know this matter SPECIFICALLY only need to reply; please excuse if the electric language is not used right.)
- The power cables themselves don't have much bearing on Power Source AC 120V 50/60 Hz (Your typical household outlet) You couldn't acciddentally plug it into a 220 line anyway. Power Consumption - 5W-350w -- How many watts of power it draws from the socket. Typically the thicker guaged wire is better to use, as it has less impedance or so I've been told.
- Q: The hdd i am looking at is OEM nearly everywhere so i'm wondering what i would need to use it.
- Any OEM challenging rigidity i've got ordered has no longer incorporate cables (they got here with the motherboard). do no longer comprehend the place you're ordering from although - ought to be distinctive. i'm getting all of my stuff from Newegg. and that's the place i could propose you %. some up in case you like them. continuously stable fees.
- Q: Hey,I left my PS3 in the living room, and I think the dog peed up it. Stupid place to leave it, I know. Anyway, I brought it back upstairs, hooked it up but when I went to plug the power cable in, there was a real loud buzzing sound coming from the PS3, right where the cable goes in. When I unplug it from the PS3, it stops. I tried leaving it to dry, and making sure there was no moisture present inside the machine, but I tried hooking it up again and got an electric shock up my arm from it.Should I buy a new cable, leave it to dry, or is there something inherently wrong with the PS3 now? Thanks :)
- Ive never come across this before. Maybe its because i don't no anyone who has a dog which has peed up there PS3. I would suggest you dont get a other cable because that one might break aswell due to water getting in your ps3. If i was you i would contact Playstation or the store you got it from for more advice. Like i say im not sure and i dont think many people will come across this problem.
- Q: I just bought an electric guitar and an Ibanez Ibz10g 10 watt amplifier. I read the reviews for the amp and someone said it only comes with the power cable.1. Is this true?2. If so will I be able to play with just a power cable or do I have to buy other cables separately? This is probably a stupid question but I seriously have no idea what cables are required for electric guitar. I ordered it from OKorder yesterday and couldn't find any details about what it comes with.
- The term power cable is used on electrical appliances such as amplifiers. Some amps have permanent fixed ones while others are detachable. A guitar uses what is called a 1/4 inch instrument (or guitar) cable to connect to a guitar amp. These are properly shielded cables. They either have two straight jack plugs or one straight and one angled - both works fine. A length of 6' seems to suit most situations. These cables come in lots of qualities, from very poor to high quality. You do not need the most expensive ones, just don't get the cheapest qualities. If it's a guitar pack you have purchased, guitar and amp together, it may be that there's a guitar cable included. These are typically very low quality... basically throw away stuff. You hook up the guitar by inserting one end of the cable into the guitar output jack and the other end of the cable into the amplifier input jack - usually found on the front of the amp, labelled 'Input'. And no, it is not a stupid question - we all have to start somewhere! Good luck with your playing :-)
- Q: Where can I find a power cable for an HP Photosmart C3180 printer?
- try any big store they carry printer cables, all printer cables are standard if not then go to HP. website look for accessories you'll get one there
- Q: I have a be quiet! dark power pro 850W. The sleeving is too thick for cable management!! It is a complete mess with the antec 900. its ridiculous as I bought it with cable management in my mind. Can I buy thinner cables on their own? Is there a standard modular fitting size?Thank you.
- I got the Coolmaster 1000, all the cables bar the main are disconnecting, very handy plus they supply you with all the cables you will ever need to make a monster of a system.
- Q: I have a usb hub that is externally powered that stays on 24/7 even when i shut my computer off. It is buried behind by desk so removing the usb power supply manually each time is what im trying to avoid. Is there anyway i can put a switch in the power cable going to it?
- Before you attempt this, make sure you have the following items: -Wire strippers -Electrical tape -Two terminal switch -Scissors IMPORTANT! make sure that the cable is unplugged from the computer and the hub before you do this! 1st, cut the cord halfway with the scissors. Next, remove the outer wire insulation from the two new ends you just cut with the wire strippers. Now strip the small colored wires that are now exposed. Then connect the red wire from one half of the cord to a terminal on the switch. Do the same with the other red wire from the other half of the cord and connect it to the other terminal on the switch. Strip the other small wires and connect them back to their appropriate colored wire. Finally, wrap each wire individually with electrical tape, then wrap the entire gap in the cord with it. Now plug the cord in and try it out!
