- it could be a few things, i would start the car and lift the hood try to smell around the fuel injectors and lines to see if it smell stronger or if there is a leak, if a injector is leaking it will probably be a brownish color around the base, also check around the fuel cap and the fuel filter to make sure there is no leak basically just try to smell the front and rear of the car and see if you can tell where it smells the strongest and start searching there, it could also be a bad gasket letting fumes out from the fuel sending unit or fuel pump on the fuel tank.

- Although I don't believe body lifts are ever a great idea. You shouldn't need to worry about a pitman drop or the transfer case drop. Usually these only become issues when you go higher than 3. Most 3+ kits come with transfer case drops for this reason, however if you experience any vibration in the drive shaft. That means the angle on the transfer case is wrong and you will need to install a transfer case drop. This shouldn't be a big deal and generally they are fairly cheap. As for the pitman arm these are recommended on lifts greater than 6. If you plan on doing any serious off roading, consider getting a suspension lift rather than a body lift.
