- Q: my car was towed but i put the brake on an set the alarm
- They can take it if you parked some where you wern't suppose to. Also, they have their ways wkith things. I know with the alarm-if it starts to go off, but the front of the car is lifted up so many feet it will shut it off. Atleast that is what I have heard from many people. If they have a reason to do it then yes. It's like firemen. If there is a fire and someone parks by a fire hydrant then guess what they are going to brake the window and they will not be liable for it. Sorry.

- As someone who does this for a living you do not need a lift to see everything under the vehicle but you do need to be able to lift each corner of the vehicle with a jack and a creeper to independently check each wheel, suspension, check for play inspect the frame etc. Depending on car or truck you may be able to view everything without a jack but to properly check for play or looseness you need a jack or lift. I strongly recommend finding an independent inspector or reputable dealer to perform the inspection rather than someone from one of the national inspection companies like eBay recommends - Read the fine print and their employment sections, their inspections are VERY limited and the inspectors often have no credentials. - How do you propose the tow truck is going to be there at the time it is needed? This is a ridiculous question. What the driver needs to do before he burns the brakes up is to shift the car in neutral and then apply the brakes and additionally the emergency brake, if needed, to stop the vehicle!

- Once again, Bandit-05 gets it right. 18 rims are the limit that allow best possible performance. For a 22 rim, you need far bigger shock absorbers/struts, thicker coils springs to deal with the extra unsprung weight and maybe a larger wheel arch/wheel well to accommodate the large thing. The car will probably look like a monster truck by the time you lift it up a bit and I'm sure you'll get poor handling performance too.

- nope should have tried before you bought the vehicle so it could have been added to loan as a selling point but too late now
- Q: Does anyone know how the trunk lid lift support (damper) attachments work on above vehicle?. I‘ve had the trunk lid bonk me in head enough times to order new ones but no clue given anywhere on how attachments work. to remove /re install.
- It looks like your car uses a ball socket to attach the support lifts at each end, which is a pretty standard fastening method for them. Basically, you have a little metal ball on a stud to mount it to, and the support lift has a hole at each end with a spring that snaps around the ball to hold them on. The easiest way to pop them off is to wedge a large screwdriver in between the trunk opening/lid and the support lift, and use it as a lever to pop each end off. Get the screwdriver shaft as close to the attaching point as you can, with that point a ways from the tip for more leverage. Use a sturdy piece of cloth to protect the paint from the tip of the screwdriver, or you can wrap the tip in a few layers of duct tape. Then just give the screwdriver a whack on the handle with your hand to pop them loose. A quick, sharp slap works better than simply grabbing and pulling. To install the new ones, simply place the hole at each end over the ball stud, then give the back of the support lift a tap with the handle of the screwdriver, or a rubber mallet, or a small hammer with a light tap. Right on the back, around the other side from the mounting hole. Remove and replace one first before taking the other off, in case you forget which direction they go.
