- Q: I need to find a way for a couple of very expensive hand-me-down sofas to stop moving on the marble floor. They have small wheels and scoot around the room when you get up. The wheels are not very easy to remove and will change the sofa height!Anyone know of a solution?
- First, if you just stop the wheels from rolling, the sofa will still move on the marble floor and scrape the floor. Here is what to do. First get some rubber casters to place under each leg, preferable ones with sides to it. This will protect the floor. Second, stop the wheel from rolling by taking some folded paper and stuffing it into the wheel at the top so it jams the wheel and it can't roll.
- Q: only the seating area really needs covering due to wear. the back and arms are fine, any suggestions? its still very comfy, thanks
- Either sew a new cover, using the old as a pattern, or put a blanket over the wear. There are no covers, in that shape, sold commercially.
- Q: My dogs are 8 months old and one of the licks the sofa cushions constantly. I'm not sure why but it's really gross to try to sit down with these huge wet spots (about 10-12 in diameter.) We've been planning to get a new sofa for a while now, but until we can correct this problem I don't want to invest! Bitter apple spray, tobasco, nothing helps.

- I'm with CutiePie. I had a cat that scratched the furniture for ages, so I made him a scratchy; I bought 3 planks of a softwood from a timber yard and a ?1 mat from a carpet shop. I screwed the planks to the wall near his cat flap and glued the mat on with PVA. Every time I saw my cat scratch the sofa I told him NO! and I would take him to the scratchy and scratch it myself, then put his paws on it and tell him 'good boy' and rub him between his ears. Anytime I saw him scratching the scratchy I told him 'Good boy'. It took a while but he ripped on the sofa far less and could have gotten out of the habit if he'd not been 14yo already.

- Aerobeds are awesome. They now have the kind that are as high as a regular mattress and box spring so it's not as hard to get out of them. Built in pumps, you can even get one that you can position the back at an angle so you're sitting up reading or watching TV. MMM! Ah pity the fool who's trying to sell foldin' beds for a living these days! Those and slotted screwdrivers.
