- I've purchased several sofas and sectionals from Z Gallerie (they carry a variety of brands) and I've always had great luck with them. You might want to check them out. Their prices are fairly reasonably for the quality and they tend to last longer than most which gives you greater value in the long run. In general, avoid sofas and sectionals that have sewn-in cushions. Since you cannot flip and rotate the cushions you cannot maximize their life. How often does anyone actually sit in the middle of the sofa, right? A good salesperson will be willing to unzip the cushions and show you the construction going on inside. I recommend foam cushions that are wrapped in a blanket of down for more comfort and loft; also the down blanket can be [somewhat] fluffed.

- Are you asking if it is a genuine antique (as in 18th Century) Chippendale? No, the proportions and legs are all wrong for that. In fact, other than the camel back, it doesn't have much in common with even reproduction Chippendale furniture which would have narrower rolled arms and longer, straighter legs. I doubt your sofa is older than 30 or 40 years. As far as value, if the upholstery is in perfect shape you might get $150 to $200 for it on Craigslist.

- Your statements are unclear, are you asking about SOFA status, jobs with the military (on the base, or actual government or GS jobs?) It seems as if you are trying to obtain employment with the military, not to enlist as an active duty member? So you are living in Korea, but not as a military member or a dependent of a military member, therefore you are not eligible for SOFA status. The rules are the rules, whether you think they are stupid or not. Then you also seem to be asking about your E2 visa guidelines? Not sure exactly what to answer here. You might contact the US embassy there for specific direction. Maybe clarify your question a little so we can understand what you are actually asking and what your employment goal is.

- The main thing that makes a sofa bed uncomfortable is the bar that hits most people in the back. They have sofa beds now that moves that bar and you make it up from the side instead of from the usual top or bottom. IF you can't find one of these then get a Memory foam liner to put on it when you make it into a bed
