- Q: I am currently on a 90 day tourist visa in Japan because my US Navy E-5 Fiancé and I are getting married in Yokosuka City Hall. He is stationed here and he has his own housing provided by the navy outside base. However, his sea duty would expire on August 2013. He already got his orders and that for Shore duty he would be assigned again in Yokosuka for another 3 years. I don't know if I am eligible for Command Sponsorship because one of the requirements is he should have at least 12 months of current tour but he doesn't want to extend his sea duty. Could I still get a SOFA Stamp? I am not an American Citizen, btwThanks for the help.
- It will depend on the country you are from to whether or not it will be granted. The Japanese government will grant a SOFA stamp to some non command sponsored dependents to stay there but not all. He needs to discuss it with his command and you will the immigration on what they will allow.

- Sorry but no. The contemporary and traditional do not compliment each other but instead fight each other for dominance. It's too confusing to look at. You will have to choose between the styles and I think that is where your problem is. The traditional sofa is nice and makes a bold statement and would also require other bold, curvy rounded and oversized traditional pieces to complete the room. The contemporary ones are also nice (just not my choice) but require more sleek modern pieces to complete the look of straight sleek lines. edit: strawberry thats a good question. you don't have to settle for the same ol boring matching sets just choose pieces that are in a complimentary color and in the same proportion as that sofa. Big and chunky or even a smaller scale would work as long as you still have those nice rounded curves. Tie them together with throws and pillows. For example if you have a brown sofa and a green loveseat, place green cushions on the sofa and brown on the loveseat and always throw in a third splash of color for added interest. Think in the lines of the furniture for accessories.

- My experience with HAL ships is not the same as Mary's. I have been on 7 of their ships but never the Veendam. In looking at the site photos for an ocean view cabin, you will note that the sofa has a solid top cushion rather than two cushions. This tells me that when made into a bed it is not like a regular sofa bed that flips out and extends. Rather, that top one-piece surface cushion will be inverted (turned over) to provide a single sleeping space which is quite comfortable. Beneath that single bed is a trundle which slides out to provide a sleeping space of the same dimension. This configuration saves space compared to a conventional sofa bed.
