- Q: I bought a used sofa and loveseat and I lost one of the legs to the sofa when we hauled it home, does anyone know where I can get a sofa leg? I can find it on the internet but I would like to go out and get one tonight at a local store.....
- Try a local furniture maker or lumber yard, they might give you all 4 matching legs. Make it look a little more modern, then you can paint them whatever color. Good luck!
- Q: I'm having this trouble with my 10 month old. She discovered a week ago that she can climb into the sofa. And I can not do anything else but to watch her. - Good luck on trying to stop her. My daughter has been doing it for ages and in the last month she has learnt to push one of her walk along toys to where she wants it and climb on it to get stuff of the shelf, if her high chair is near a seat she climbs on the seat and then trys to get on top of her high chair. THe other day she climbed on the table where the TV was and climbed on top of the TV. She knows that she is aloud to climb on the couch but anything else she gets told off and sat on the floor and keep doing until she learns. But she should grow out of that stage soon.

- Hit the Thrift and Consignment Shops! This can be alot of fun and you can get great deals. I just move into a new home and our old sofa did not go well with it's style so we took some time and found a great sectional, just like new, for $125. We wanted new retro style, because we are remodeling a 1950's house, and it's a Thayer Coggin awesome piece! :) It takes some time and patience, but it pays off. - Well that really depends on how large the sofa is If its like love seat size then that may work but if its full size your going to struggle with a hand truck not to mention fitting it through doorways your better off with a flat floor dolly set the couch on it push it Probably going to save you a headache if you find second person to help carry it then set it on a floor dolly and push it to your truck a hand cart with a big couch and one person will be a struggle hope that helps Lr
- Q: We are 3mo away from moving into a 1-year temp rental, while we try to look for something more permanent. Last week, my 1-yo niece puked all over our current couch (egads!)--I used enzyme cleaners and have extracted most of the stain/smell. We had originally planned to wait to buy new furniture until we found our long-term house in a year or so; however, no one is really wanting to sit on this sofa. Question is: Should we 'deal with it' until we find a permanent house and then buy a sofa that works perfectly for that house------or------should we get rid of that sofa now and buy something 'just guessing' what may work for us. (We need some sofa so just waiting won't be an option). What would you do????
- I think you're getting some great answers. Not what you were hoping for, I'm sure...haha! I will add one more suggestion: If you cannot get the smell out completely or just gag at the thought of residual baby puke coating your behind, I would recommend you identify the cushions that took a hit and replace them. Sofas use what is called high density foam and it's pretty darn easy to replace them. Pull the foam out of the cover. If it is not closed with a zipper, use a seam ripper to carefully open up the back edge of the cushion cover. Once you have the foam exposed you can see how thick it is. Order the appropriate foam and use the Hamilton Beach electric knife to cut it. You can use a kraft knife to cut the foam but the edge won't be very good. The electric knife will make you look like a pro. Just be sure to practice a bit before you make the real cuts. And of course, all you need do is put the old foam on top of the new foam and trace the outline. Finally, insert the foam back into the cover and stitch it closed using a blind stitch if you know how. I've included a link on how to do this. And just think, having fixed it up you can sell the sofa when you move!!! Buyer beware....hahaha ...where do you live? :D

- There are many things that go into affect in a leather sofa or sofa. 1. Construction- 5/4 thick solid oak or maple hardwood frame is the industry premium. All interior joints of the frame will be glued screwed and corner blocked. This is for extra reinforcement. The spring construction is very important and its gauge (meaning desity of metal) The bests spring construction is a coil spring like eight way hand tied or any other coil spring system. Note some coil springs have low wire gauge get what you pay for. No sag or sinous spring is also used and will do good as along as the gauge is good and frame is sturdy. Feel the frame and around for sturdness. 2. Leather quality. Alot of companies might use a cheaper leather or not a true leather. Top grain is the only way to go. Top grain needs to be at least on the seat, back and arms of the sofa. A company can use split leather on the side and back cause it will not be used, but it will wear evenly. 3. Why did your friends leather fade. Well did they take care of it? Was it a naturally characteristic of the leather? Remember you buy leather shoes and purses they too can fade. 4 Who is the manufacture and 1200 seems really affordable for a leather sofa. Remember a pair of leather boots can cost $300 dollars and a leather sofa has 10 times more stitching, padding and leather so 1200 is not very expensive. In life you get what you pay for in everything. 5 ask around the more expensive leathers sometimes might not work for you cause they are usually higher maintence. 6 Email the sofa I might be able tell a little more about the company.
