Q: how can you tell if you have dirt tires or street tires?
The tread pattern. A street tire will be more slick. Dirt tires will be more studded. Not as much as a MTB tire, though. Look a the Maxxis Holly Roller. Those are for both. The squares give traction in dirt, but they are large and flat so you still have a good contact patch in the street.
Q: Shopping for tires for my motorcycle and they are listed as either front of rear, the tread all looks similar, just wondering what the differences are?Our trucks and cars use the same type of tires front and rear so it got my curiosity up.
The internal construction can be quite different, even though the tread pattern may be the same. Sizing is also quite different. The rear tire must deal with much higher loads when the bike is ridden two-up, and usually runs hotter than the front. The rear also has to deal with cornering and acceleration loads at the same time, while the front should be dealing with cornering OR braking.
Q: I dunno It could be anything, tired of your boss, your relatives, anything! what the hell are you tired of?
i'm tired from school.it's freaking EXHAUSTING!!!! i'm sooo over school,i'm ready to get out there in the world and see it for myself. i'm tired of family too,i just need some time to myself(there are seven other people in my family and three or four pets too so don't judge me) i think we all need vacations.
Q: what size tires come on a 2001 MB ml 55 amg
i dont think the alarms deter the jackers. however, a security system that wont let the car be started without a key is a pretty good deterent. maybe some day in the future they will design an alarm that automatically calls the police if the car is tampered with.
Q: Can anyone tell me the difference between skinwall tires and gumwall tires? Which are better and why?
By the time you count shipping and the fact your going to pay more for mount and balance your better off to go to a local shop.
Q: I had a brand new tire that I bought from discount tire online mounted today at a local shop. After they mounted it they informed me the tire had a bulge/bubble in the sidewall. Is this a manufacturing defect or can it be caused by improper mounting? Thanks
Tires are inflated to a known pressure - every tire is supposedly inflated to standard pressures. If the process of inflating the tire exposed a defect in the tire-wall - the fault is with the tire itself. This is based upon a series of reasonable assumptions. I would say the manufacturer of the tire is responsible, not the local shop. The fact that you purchased the tire through a discount tire outlet is irrelevant - the tire would be expected to perform its duty and function as a tire. In this case, it was faulty right out of the gate. You now have the job of proving that the tire you bought was in fact faulty - good luck with that.
Q: What is the meaning of H on car tires?
Speed level code, H is your car up to 210KM up to every time
Q: They‘re tires, just huge. All cars have tires yet I only hear that whirrrrring sound on those trucks with huge tires.
It's all in the tread pattern, offroad designed tires as put on truck enthusiast have knobby tread which grabs onto dirt and mud and whatever else is unfortunate to get under them. On the road these hit the ground and make a pronounced noise especially at interstate speeds (and of course higher). Car tires can make noise too, mostly run flat tires and from what I've seen a lot of Bridgestone Potenzas. You probably wouldn't notice it unless you were driving a well sound insulated car as wind noise can easily cover this up. My grandmothers car (a Nissan Maxima) the rear tires drive me nuts.
Q: Ok is it possible to use a 175/60/15 tire on a car that has 175/65/15 tires
Check with a tire store like Goodyear or Sears. My husband tried to put a different tire size on his car (what he thought wouldn't matter- it was only a slight difference like you mention) and within minutes of driving the car out of the parking lot the tires were smoking and had a groove carved into them because they were rubbing somewhere on the undercarriage. Now he has four unusable tires that cost him $400. It was a total bill of $700 (the tires he bought then the ones he had to buy to replace them). A costly error. Listen to the tire store guy!
Q: All season tires . no humming sounds like those in Z-rated tires . good lookin normal original size ! price range 100-125 each !
I use GoodYear Triple Tred Assurances. Although it is not a sports rated tire, it does an extremely good job as a all season tire. It has superior traction, and a very comfortable ride. It also preforms well in the rain and snow, and should serve the purpose of most drivers unless you encounter heavy snow during the winter months!
