Q:I will soon need tires for my car. Michellin tires are very good in my opinion, but very expensive. I checked tire ratings/feedback from alleged owners of various tires on a web site called TheTire Rack. The highest rated tire in my size was a General Tire-- General Altima HP to be exact. I am skeptical because the cost is about 1/2 the cost of Michellin. Anyone had any long term experience with the above mentioned General tire? Thanks
If you live in winter country, you will want the Altima RT. I have the RT on my car. It is excellent, and the snow traction is higher than the HP. I can attest to excellent handling in rain as well. If you don't live in winter country, or switch to winter tires for snow season, then the HP is a good tire. I bought the RT because the larger cleats on the outside edges give the higher snow traction rating. They have not lost any air pressure since the day they were installed, either, something I couldn't say about my previous tires. Note they have a pretty good mileage rating as well, rated for 125,000 kilometres. I have had General tires before, and never had any problems or complaints, and never had to make a warranty claim.
Q:how, and where would i be able to find good long lasting tires on the cheap in dfw area or online thanks
try the junk yards and tire shops. sometimes the junk yard will get a wreck in and sell the tires pretty cheap and the tire shops some people will run a set of tires for a little while then get new ones.
Q:How long is the life of the car tires?
Depends on the situation. The The Driving mileage, mainly to see your tread wear situation, the tire has a scale line, forget what is called. The Can not be exceeded, is to look at the tire replacement. The The Some tires should pay attention to the problem of rubber aging, to check. The
Q:Car tires installed when anyway
Tires are divided into symmetrical tires Tire single guide tires Asymmetric treads Tire symmetrical treads Tire and front and back are guided by the direction of the tire rolling direction to carefully distinguish between asymmetrical pattern points positive and negative
Q:Need at least 2 tires, maybe all 4.
It depends entirely on the type of tire you need. If you want cheap no name made in China tires with no warranty go to any independent tire store in town (not one associated with a major brand). They all sell import tires really cheap. But remember, with tires you get what you pay for and if you buy cheap tires, cheap tires is exactly what you'll get. They won't ride smooth, they wont handle good in bad weather, they won't last long and if they fail there is no warranty. if you want good tires but can't afford them try the used tire stores. Lots of guys upgrade their wheels and tires and the used tire stores are full of almost new sets at a big discount.
Q:My tires on my SUV has a max.tire pressure of 44psi cold, My tag on the door pillar is marked at 30psi front/35psi rear. can I air up tires to 40psi for better gas mileage
are you like in hell ?
Q:Will I notice any significant difference between 700x32c tires and 700x35c tires in terms of speed/ease? Thanks!
A 3mm difference is noticeable only when there is a large variation in pressure. Assuming since those are 700's that you have a hybrid/commuter and you ride on the road, if the 35 is say an 80psi tire and the 32 is a 110 psi tire, you will notice a difference. The 32 will roll easier. If you do have a hybrid bike I suggest an even larger difference going to 700 X 28 Continental Gatorskin All Season. You will think you bought a new bike as it will pedal much easier at speed than the 35's. The narrower tire is suggested only for paved road usage. It will not handle loose gravel as well as a wide tire.
Q:Anyone have info on Firestone F - 380 tires? Were they part of a re-call ?
there is a stamped # on the side wall of all tires and its part of the D.O.T. law close to the rim of the wheel, its stamped not rised numbers ,and you can get this number and go to Firestone website and check it out, Firestone parent Company is (Bridgstone) they make Firestone if you bought them at Costco they will give you new tires like the did me they put on Michelin all four for free 80,000 mile warranty tire at no cost, and there were other tires recalled and not as well know so check em anyway
Q:wher can i buy new tires onlinegive me some trusted websites please.
You're supposed to buy wipers and put them on. Make sure they're the right size.
