- Q:I have a tan/white colored carpet..its a normal carpet, the threads are about ? inches long.One time i used a carpet cleaner (and didnt read the directions) and sprayed the carpet and left it to soak there for a few minutes...now the carpet spot is yellow...Any way to fix the unfixable?other than getting a new carpet..
- When a stain develops on carpet, many people grab the nearest all-purpose cleaner and try to tackle the stain head on. Unfortunately, a variety of all-purpose cleaners contain chemicals that will bleach and lighten the carpet. Once the chemicals have stripped the carpet fibers of their color, there really is not much you can do to reverse the action. Replacing the carpet is an option albeit an expensive one. For a cheaper option, dye the lightened carpet to match the surrounding fibers.
- Q:I built my own box, sounds great but looks terrible without carpet.
- I would walk into a local carpet shop and purchase a few feet of carpet. Carefully measure out the holes and whatnot of the box. After you have everything cut out use staples (your choice, just using an example) to get the carpet on the box. For best results try getting a thin carpet.

- yes and this works. get a white damp cloth (rag or towel) then get an iron. put the damp cloth over the stain and iron over it. The stain will be lifted off the rug onto the cloth. Use a white cloth so you can see the stain as its removed. If it doesnt work dampen/wet the cloth so more and try again! You can either dampen the cloth or dampen the stain with water. I do this all the time on my carpets and it works! goodluck!

- It doesn't matter if just lay a small piece of carpet; but it won't be good if it is full laid because that the heat is difficult to come up, influencing the effect of heating.

- Q:i recently had a basement flood which covered the floor in 4 inches of water.After using two pond vacuum's, and a carpet shampoo and water extractor, the carpet and the pad are still wet. I would love to get the same carpet as i had. They do not have it on the Abbey carpet site anymore...HERE IS THE CARPET THAT WE HAD.
- If its not on the Abbey site there are only 2 reasons for this.. The carpet is no longer made and discontinued or who ever you bought the carpet from has private labeled the carpet so no one shopping for an Abbey carpet ( or any thing else in their store) won t be able to cross shop and price compare. Big box stores are know to do this and some mom and pop stores. I never did. Now a suggestion.. Pull up the carpet and the pad. The pad is probably ruined. The carpet is more often than now salvageable if you can get it to dry. Or get a professional carpet cleaner in to vac out the carpet. they may be able to pull out enough water and along w/ fans and a dehumidifier, you may be able to save it. - Q:i washed my area rug with a little soap and water due to the fact it has spilled milk and puppy pee on it. i was wondering why it has a sweet but yet funny smell and how to get rid of it cause its not in just one spot can i wait for it to dry sprinkle some baking soda on it then rub it in and vacuum i washed this thing when it was 80* and bright and sunny out
- It may be an issue of what your rug is made of. I had a similar problem with a synthetic rug and I had to hang it outside for weeks to get the stink out of it (we'd used a steam cleaner 4 times on it so we knew it was clean). Make sure you've gotten all the soap out of the carpet because that can actually attract more dirt! Also try cleaning the surface the rug was on. Sometimes the smells can get trapped there too. - i have just had my carpet clean by a professional carpet cleaner he moved all my furniture and cleaned every where, he did a marvellous job and when he had finished we had it stain guarded well worth the money
