Q: i am hoping not to waste money on a not suitable high chair. what are everyones thoughts on high chairs: I bought a Graco high chair, and really like it. Especially the dishwasher-safe removable tray insert. It makes it so easy to clean up, Which is completely important in my life. It reclines, has adjustable heights, and moves easily with wheels. And we liked the colors. However, my two year old is getting big, and so we just had to go out and buy a booster seat for her. That being said, if I were going to buy a brand new high chair for my 6 week old, I would go with the Graco Blossom, because it would last longer. It's more expensive, but it does everything a regular high chair does, and has a booster seat, too. And I like how safe Graco items are.

Q: I have a chair with a broken back, it can be detached from the rest of the chair and has a metal piece that goes into the padded/cloth part of the back.: Chairs can be a bear to fix. Depending on what piece broke, it usually indicates metal fatigue from low quality steel used at high stress points (an engineering short-sight). On those kinds of chairs I just take off the broken pieces (arms, if any) and use the bottom as a roll around stool, cause fixing them only redistributes the stress load to another weak spot. They can be handy in the shop for working on the car (waxing the lower half and polishing the mags, etc.)

Q: i tried buying her a scratcher, she uses it, but she still scratches my wood room set chairs. its getting annoying. no matter how much i yell her, does it anyway.: You could try putting double-sided tape on the areas that the cat scratches on the chairs. It's totally harmless (she won't want to scratch the chairs if they're sticky) and it won't harm your furniture either. Some pet stores also sell a spray that you can buy that people can't smell, but it smells bad to cats. This works for us too. Once she sees that she can't go near the chairs, she'll go right back to using the scratcher. Good luck :)

Q: I purchased a upholstered, swivel, rocker from Goodwill. The problem is, it sits too low. I avoid sitting in it because it's a real chore to get out of it! I've tried spinning the four legged base like an office chair. I can't think of anything to prop it up with that will look nice and keep it functional. Does anyone know of an inexpensive method of heightening the base?: Try buying a chair cushion. The cushion would make the chair more comfortable. Also it might increase the height of the chair based on the thickness of the cushion. Chair cushions don't cost much if you don't get the really fancy ones. But don't buy one if the chair is really small, because it won't help much. If the chair is too small to heighten with a chair cushion, take the chair to a wood shop or to a place like that. Tell them the details of the chair's base and and legs. Then if should be fixed.

Q: I am planning to buy my 2 year old niece a potty training chair and I want to know which is good? It has to be neutral and easy to store away, because my sister in law and my younger brother also have a 9 month old son, and they want to use it for him when he's ready for potty training.: i finally got my 4 and 3 yr olds potty trained and to tell u the truth. They are in separate rooms but visible to each other. I chose 2 different patterns with the same color profile. Different textures - the kitchen chairs have a much heavier texture tan the dining room chairs. I did a lot of shopping and found my fabric at a local remnant upholstery shop. I purchased 5 yards of fabric for $35. The original price on the fabric for the kitchen chairs was $30 per yard and the original price for the dining room fabric was $35 per yard. I do believe I got a great deal. 12 chair cushions for $35. Same color profile - different pattern, different texture. Good luck
