- I like to fold up camping chairs that you can get from stores, they come with their own carrying case and the fabric is water proof and holds up well. As for being funky, I like to get one already made and decorate it myself, I do sewing but it is not worth the bother to recover a chair, instead I use fabric paint (bottled and spray on). I have even super glued patches on the back (no stitches because it can weaken the fabric)! Do you know an artist in the family that can paint the orders' mascot or troop numbers on the back? Have fun!
- Q: This chair is on the playground outside of the treehouse. It is shaped like an s, so that when 2 people sit in it, they are side by side, but facing in opposite directions. What makes it really cool, is that is also spins! I have no clue what this chair is called. I hope someone can help!
- Barney was such a comedy relief to the show. Which it proved that it need (even through the show lasted years after the very talented Don Knotts left (due to films) - it just turned into a down home dryed (in a good way) show, I mean without Barney to get me laughing pretty much non stop - the colored Andy Griffith show makes me drift off to sleep. - You could try Furniture123, I only say this because when I purchased my dining room table from them I remember that they had them on there and I was going to buy one. But then in the end I ended up getting one from the pier because they had one on offer
- Q: So, a friend and I are in the middle of a pointless debate. Which would cause more damage, being hit by a chair or a human? We are assuming a human mass of about 77Kg and a chair mass of about 5kg. Both being swung at the the same velocity (about 20 m/s). I said the human because it has about 17 times more mass and momentum.Please set the record straight.
- I assume you mean the chair is being swung by a human and the human's arm is swinging, not that a whole human is being swung? So it is a case of being hit by a human with a chair or by the human's fist? The chair would be swung more or less at arms length. Assuming the arm is turning at about the same rotational speed for either the fist or the chair, the end of the chair would actually be much further from the body than the fist at the end of the arm, so the bit of the chair which makes impact would actually be traveling much faster than the fist. You can't simply compare the mass of the human with that of the chair because the mass of the chair is increased by the human who is attached to it and swinging it. Effectively the person and chair become a single bludgeoning unit unless the person lets go of the chair. Given that the total mass is similar but the chair will have greater impact because the bit of the chair farthest from the person swinging it will be moving at a greater speed, the chair will do more damage. Add in to the equation the fact that a person punching will be more likely to pull back from a full impact because of the pain involved in the fist when it hits its mark - but the chair feeds back no pain to the assailant so it can be followed through at full impact. Finally, if the chair hits at one of the padded parts then the blow will be significantly cushioned, but if it is a wooden bit that hits, that will be harder than flesh-covered bone.

- Well, they need washing too, like your pants. Problem is you can't throw them into the washer. It's a damp sponge, soapy water, immediately blot, repeat, repeat, repeat and leave for the weekend. Come back Monday and spray with Febreeze. Don't forget to wash the rest of the chair, any arm rests, they get sweaty too.
- Q: Hey, so I bought a wing chair from goodwill, I'm going to clean it, but the fabric is ugly, and I want to put new fabric on, how do I go about doing this?
- Re-covering a wing chair is a job for an expert upholsterer so i wouldn't recommend it for a first project unless you're a great seamstress already. However, you can make a passable slipcover for it. Choose a soft but sturdy fabric in a solid cover or small or large print (no stripes, medium scale prints or plaids -- too hard to match patterns). You'll need about 6 yards, at least. One cheap way to get a lot of fabric is to buy bedsheets or fabric shower curtains. I made a nice chair slipcover years ago from two heavy cotton large tableclothes, 60 x 120 each that cost me less than $15 total. Wash and machine dry your fabric first to pre-shrink it. You can either make paper patterns by smoothing brown wrapping paper over the areas of the chair and cutting the pieces to fit OR just smooth the fabric over each area (the back, the seat cushion, the sides) and cutting the pieces with an inch on each side. Pin the pieces together over the chair with the good side of the fabric towards the chair and the seam edges out, then sew the seams together. Then turn the slipcover right side out and slip it over the chair. Sew woven tape ties or ribbons at the bottom edge near all 4 legs and tie them around the legs to keep the cover from riding up or slipping. If the seat cushion is removeable, make the cover to fit the chair with the cushion off, then make a separate slip cover for the seat cushion with a zipper or velcro to close one side. If you go to a fabric store, some of the pattern companies (like mcCalls, Butterick and Simplicity) have patterns that give instructions for making slipcovers like this -- your local library probably has upholstering guide books too.
