- Q: I need some advice! For my wedding we will be borrowing tables and metal folding chairs. I already have the tables planned out with white tablecloths and a fuschia tulle runner down the center. My problem is the chairs are really ugly and I need a very cheap idea on how to cover those. We are on a really tight budget ($3,000 for everything)as we are paying for everything ourselves. I was thinking of buying some tulle for the chairs and ribbon, but I wanted to know if anyone would have any idea what that would cost per chair? My colors are fuschia, yellow and orange. Thanks!
- Check for sales on sheets. One sheet set will cover four chairs. Another thing you can do is just make fabric covers for the chairs that are lining aisle or outside edges. The tops of the interior chairs would just need something for the backs which will save you a ton of fabric. They don't show up in before ceremony pics and will be covered by your guests' bodies during. You could dye or paint canvas or just cotton fabric. Mixing patterns of clearance material will look fine as long as they are in the same colors and will help add to the casual feel. Watch the paper and check online. Joann's and Hobby Lobby usually have a 40% coupon every few weeks that you can use on any item in the store, even on sale. This will save you a ton. If you are on their mailing lists they will send you some as well. I wouldn't use tulle unless you really need to. The chairs are going to show through it.

- Staples won't work because your desk chair is probably plastic or maybe metal and not wood. I would sugges slip covers. You can fit fabric inside out with pins, then take it off and sew it together then turn it right side out. Velcro will close the open side around anything that sticks out.

- you can, with a plastic spray paint but the problem is that if you paint something its NOT MENT TO MOVE. bean bag chairs move so it will crack. you would be wasting your money if it was to be used. if it was for not usage then go for it. I suggest you spray paint something else....like a basket/wall/inanimate object...take your pick. I just got threw spray painting my stupid basket that holds my magazines. it was white and i painted it red along with my ceramic fish that i would put a plant in...i love red, its cool color., now I have a red fish and red basket to hold my burnables....look around you will find things to paint and its fun too! good luck!

- I just got the SAYL chair (herman Miller). there are many office chairs by commercia/corporatel manufacturers that are extremely long wearing. There are dozens of manufacturers-you can do a search for office... or look at some office oriented design magazines see who the chair manufacturer is.

- There are lots to choose from online: specifically made for youth, for orthopedic issues. I would ask the spine doctor you see, if you do, or go to your local pharmacy. They have catalogs and chairs on-site for you to try out and price. I put Orthopedic chair in Google and got lots of hits. I know it's best to buy it from a local store, but if there is a guarantee return policy, you'll be able to return it if it's not the right chair for him. My Mom had a similar problem, and I was shocked by how few businesses in the health care business, knew anything about chairs--even chiropractors and physical therapists? good luck.

- My family has gone on 2 Royal Caribbean cruises with my father who is an wheelchair. Here are some additions to the wheel chair rooms: -generally larger. RC wheel chair rooms are actually 50% bigger than normal cabins. They take 3 regular rooms and make 2 (trust me...you can see the wall divisions!) -Balcony rooms have a little ramp out to the balcony for easy access. -the bathrooms are much larger and the showers are wheel-in. Now, I am EXTREMELY surprised you go a wheel chair room if you are not disabled. Royal Caribbean requires anyone booking a wheelchair room to submit a letter from a physician stating that it is required. They do this because the wheel chair rooms are much larger than the same class non-wheel chair accessible rooms but cost the same. So of course if they didn't require the proof everyone would be booking them for the space. Anyway, If you have a moral conscience, then you may want to tell the cruise line so that the room could be made available to someone who really needs it...but hey, sometimes it's nice to get something you weren't expecting!
