- Q: Anybody have any good websites where I can find history of the Metal Tulip Lawn Chairs - or metal lawn chairs in general - manufacture info, design, quality, what to look for in originals, replicas, etc. Any clue who designed the first one?
- Metal Lawn Chairs

- Q: Does anyone remember the small soft chairs that would fold flat into a bed? They had no frame, just padding and cloth. Sat about 1ft to 1.5 ft high when a chair and about 6-8 inches high when folded out to a bed. I cannot find then anywhere, please help. thanks.
- I know exactly what you are looking for. I could have sworn I saw them not too long ago at WalMart...I checked the website and they didn't have any, but I would check the store. I also searched for it on yahoo and found them new on OKorder. the store that carries them is called
- Q: I have a reception site booked at a church. Unfortunately they only have fold-up chairs. We want something nicer but are on a VERY small budget. Can we put slipcovers on fold-up chairs?
- I think that it would look good but fabric is expensive so I think that it would probably cost as much or more than renting chairs. I would see if there was a cheaper option. Maybe something with toule? It is inexpensive.
- Q: If i was sitting in a chair on wheels and someone else was tied to a tree and we both pulled with enough force to move at 5m/s would I roll in my chair or would I stay stationary because we are using the same amount of force? thanks
- No. your your chair would ROLL Because you applied a force on the rope backward pushing chair with the same amount of force in forward direction and there is no other force except friction to stop the chair which is not enough hence you would go forward. force applied on the rope only cancels out. you can assume you(on a wheel chair) pulls a rope fixed to tree at other end. This would also give same result. Hope this would help you.!!!!!!
- Q: Okay, so I need to find a high chair that I can buy two of that won't take up much room (my dining space is small). They don't need to be foldable because we are doing foster care and we'll have a couple babies. So they will be used very often. I need them to be tough and hold up. I can't have a pad that has to go in the washer. I need to just be able to wipe it. I want a good one. Not the $30 one from walmart....(that one takes up a lot of space! and the pad seems as if it may rip at the seem over time.) I like the Combi Breeze one.....But haven't seen it in person........what do you think??
- We really like our Chicco Polly Double Phase high chair. It wipes clean very easily, both the seat cover and the trays. It has lots of adjustments. I use it up high at the table for dinners and lunch, but I like to use it on a low setting in the morning because I sit on the couch in the living room to feed our daughter breakfast. It has wheels on the bottom similar to office chairs so it wheels around easily (they also lock). It has a mesh pocket at the back where I store all the baby's bibs and the tray hangs on the back legs when not in use so it is nice and compact. It also folds easily and is very slim. Once your baby is ready to eat at the table it can be used as a toddler chair. It has two covers, one large more plush one on top for use when they are babies and a smaller pad underneath for use when they are a toddler.
- Q: i was just curious about the cost.. i do plan on looking in my local phone book for a chair rental company.. but i was just curious about the average cost ?in other places.. that way i can see if i'm getting gipped or something
- I just got married in June and my chairs were 2.50 each plus 50 cents per chair to set them up. I felt like I was getting ripped off but that was the going rate in my town. Sometimes if you look for companies that are not wedding oriented but do rentals you get a better price for hte same chair. Good luck and congratulations!
- Q: My teacher tells us to sit up straight, but why would the chair have an angled back? What is the correct way to sit in them? The chairs look like this:
- you're not supposed to have your back up against the back of the chair. You're supposed to sit a little farther forward so you can sit all the way up. Granted, most people don't do that, I don't even and I have like, really good posture for a trumpet player if I may say so myself. So, to answer your question, don't lean against the back, sit kind of on the front of the chair with your back up straight.
- Q: how do i get my girl who is 3 1/2 and is soon to be 4to get out the high chair and go to booster seat!if i put in a booster seat she sceams what to do?
- I would try hiding the highchair...out of sight out of mind...when she asked what happened to it say something like it was for babies and you're a big girl now...make the booster seat fun...if you use your seat we'll do this when your done eating...or maybe tell her she's allowed to use the highchair until she's 4, and then she's a big girl and has to use the booster seat...that way she kinda knows it's coming...I hope this helps! Good luck
- Q: What are the mechanics for establishing professorial chair in a university?
- A chair can be either the head of the department (as described by another answerer) or it can be an endowed chair position. A chairperson in the first sense is the head of the department, and is responsible for all of the administrative responsibilities in running that department. A chair in the second sense is a professor who is hired to fill a position in a specific area of study. Their salary is fully or partially paid by an endowment given to the university by a donor who wants to make sure that a certain subject is taught (and researched) in that university. It takes millions of dollars to endow a chair, and the chairship is usually named after the donor. For example, a professor could be the Claire Booth Luce Chair for Women in Science. That means that Claire Booth Luce donated a lot of money to the university in order to make sure that university would always have a professor who taught courses about issues of women in science. That professor might also be required to run a program that encourages women students to pursue study in the sciences. I hope this helps!
