Q:i was sitting in my chair checking my email and the chair jerked to the right and now the seat is cooked and its weird becuase when i straightened it out by hand i sat back down and then ittilted to the otherside and now it tilts so bad it almost dumps me out what broke and what can i do to fix it? no i dont weigh much just 150 and the chair is old. so can i save it or just buy a new one, becuase this one is leather and i like it T_T: Check around the chair as there are parts that have become loose and have fallen to the floor. Some are just screws and others are screws with a handle attached. If that is not the problem wait till morning and go have a look at a store for a new chair. Without looking at it. It is going to be a problem to fix.

To get a quality set that will last for years, I would check out Pier 1 Imports, Crate and Barrel, or Pottery Barn. Most of these stores are now marking off patio furniture, as the season is ending. Even so, the shipping prices can get ya if you have to shop online at these stores. If you're a bit strapped for cash, check Wal-Mart (though they might be short in the outdoor furniture department past the month of July). If you're lucky, you may be able to find a set at an estate or garage sale (where my family was able to find an outdoor table and chair set). Also, there's a secondhand furniture store in my area, so if there is a similar outfit near you, I'd give it a look; you never know what you might be able to find.

Is sanding it off the best way to go? are there sanders small enough to get into the corners and grooves? i am pregnant, so chemicals are not an option. thank you!: For the corners and grooves just fold the sand paper and rub into the corners. They do have citrus based strippers that you can use afetr most of the sanding is done. Just apply and scrub with an old toothbrush. Use steel wool to remove and wipe the piece down with isoproyl alcohol before refinishing.

Q:How do you get the chair hydrolics to hold my wieght. I'm not fat either.: Replacing the cylinder is usually not an option however you could set the height, then drill through the shaft and put a bolt in it to hold it to that height. Another way is to take the cylinder apart and put a collar in there, a piece of pipe of the correct height to hold the chair where you want it.

Q:He's 5 months old, and when I help him up into sitting position on the floor he needs only minimal support to avoid sagging sideways. He really likes to sit, but not so much in his bouncy seat, I think because it offers little support for his back. I've had alot of advise, from tung oil to linseed oil etc. I want the finish to be water proof as well. thanks!: I would definitely go with tung oil. It is very durable, waterproof and easy to apply. It just rubs on with a cloth. Low odor. dries quickly. About $7. a can. Enough for a couple of chairs. You can apply 3 or more coats if you wish. Wait for the proper dry time between coats. Each coat makes a more durable finish. I used Formby's tung oil over 25 years ago on an unfinished pine cabinet. I applied 2 or 3 coats. It has held up beautifully. I also used it on a refinished 100 year old+ oak buffet. The finish still looks like new and has remained waterproof for over 25 years.

Q:mine is a rocking chair,Actually its mine from crackerbarrells,i put a cushion on it i rock myself,: LOL I don't know if it's my favorite, but it's where I spend most of my non working time, my desk chair. Since most of my work is out in the field, building something or fixing something, the rest of my time is at the computer or doing paper work. So this is the chair that I feel most comfortable in. It's not fancy, but I did get one that is comfortable to sit in. I do have other chairs and a sofa in the house, but except for watching a foot ball game or something like that, I don't use them very often. My dog has even claimed the sofa as his own LOL Just me I guess
