Q: What's harder a chest press or bench press?I don't know why but I can bench way more than I can lift on a chest press machine. the chest press sitting up pushing forward on a machine drops me like 40 lbs. Is that mental or is a chest press from a sitting position more difficult than a bench press, thanks
The chest press machine at my gym involves the user pushing away from his/her chest BUT, also pushing upwards slightly. This is most likely the case with yours as well. This is then considered to be an incline press. Since incline presses isolates your upper chest to do the work, you will always lift more with the bench press because there's a smaller fraction of your chest being used to push weight with the incline press. Note: the more of an incline you put to this press (Adjust the incline by doing the press on an adjustable bench) the more a shoulder workout it becomes. You will eventually reach a completely vertical press and this is ALL shoulder (military press).
Q: I want to know how to gradually increase my bench press max? and any other helpful weight lifting tips
I doubt you'll be able to get your max up to 170 THAT fast, but the best strength routine for bench(or any lift) is the 5x5 routine. You'll do 5 sets of increasing weight each time. For you and your max, I'd try this- Warm up set- empty bar, or maybe a lil weight. Set 1- 85x5 Set 2- 95x5 Sets 3-5- 105x5 Then throw in more reps if you feel like you can do it; and lower weight if necessary. Be sure and fully heal your soreness before you do another chest day, and you should see results! As the weight and reps get easier, just add more. Work hard, and if you don't notice results right away, remember that progress doesn't come instantly! Good luck!
Q: I know how to press eyeshadows, and I had an idea (inspired by someone else) to mix eyeshadow colors and press them into eyeshadow pots, then sell them.Could I do this? And sell to my friends and such?I'm 15 (16 in February), I just don't want to be breaking any rules here haha.
i don't see the need cuz there are already so many different colors of eyeshadow out there. but, you know what, i was in a store like this in london where they had all natural makeup and eyeshadows pressed into pretty pots. maybe you can start a business like that 1 day. in order to be able to sell stuff like this, you'd have to think about unique pots, not just eyeshadow.

One large effect which you should include in your paper is the ability of the printing press to distribute the ideas of European church reformer Martin Luther after 1517. This was the Protestant Reformation fueled by printed writings of Luther and others. Luther translated the bible into German so people (who could read German but not Latin) could read it for the first time. Of course many could not read their own language in the 1500's, but there was always someone in the community who would read printed materials to groups of people. Books had been rare and unobtainable by all but the very rich until the advent of the printing press. The press allowed the spread of many ideas - religious and political being chief among them. Print was the first mass media. News sheets, opinion pamphlets, and books became possible for the first time. I should add that the established Roman Catholic Church of the late 1400's and early 1500's would murder those who tried to distribute the bible in the languages of the people - - and the Church would murder them as painfully as possible to discourage the others. A case in point is William Tyndale who translated the bible into English, was arrested, tried for heresy, and burnt at the stake in 1536. The Church feared allowing people to read the bible for themselves because that threatened the well paid and privileged position of the clergy.

Q: Hi everyone!At my school weight room we only have a mechanical? Bench press. Like one which is a bar attached to a pulley that lifts up weights. So basically a bar you push up with adjustable weight and no free movement. Anyone tell me what it's called? Before anyone goes into saying It's far better to use an actual bar I'm just trying to make do with what I got. So basically On this thing I can push 100lbs once (13 years old) so I wanted to know what the best weight and how many reps/sets of what weight I should do for best results. squeeze your shoulder blades in combination underneath you and preserve them locked in combination during the recreation. Take a breath, unrack the burden, scale down the bar till it touches your rib cage, then press again up, exhaling as you move the sticking factor.

go with the bench press it requires more stabilizing muscles. the chest press will only use the 1 range of motion where the bench will utilize 3 range motion. do less reps until you know you can handle the weight. never fatigue unless you have a spot.

Hey Michael! The average man who has not lifted weights before should be able to bench approx 60Kg or 130lbs (Strength wise) once they're familiar with the technique that is. Use the principle of 'progressive overload' to gauge when you should increase the weight -depending on your goals. e.g. 3 sets of 8-12 reps at your working weight is a good guideline for maximum muscle growth Start with a weight you can do for 3 sets of 8 reps Try to Increase your reps each workout When you can complete 3 sets of 12 reps increase the weight and start again 5lb increases are perfect for an exercise such as the bench press For strength 5 sets of 5 is the best routine and allows for heavier lifting Apply the same logic as above for progress Be careful,learn and practice good technique before worrying about the weight you're lifting (Start with just the bar and focus on technique is fine - don't let ego get you into trouble you'll be lifting heavy quickly enough) and always have a spotter for your working sets.Good Luck :-)
