- Q: I am dead!!! My mom and Dads' Town Country is old, a 1996, but my dad loves it. He keeps it looking new. He will never get rid of it. I am 20y/o and screwed up. I slammed the driver side door and when I tried to roll it up, the back came up. Not the rest. I took the door apart, and there are cables all undone, and I don't know what the hell to do. I don't have a lot of money or time. They will be back in three days. I called the dealer, they said $300.00. I'm toast. Can anyone save me from this death sentence?
- the regulator is broken. the cable broke and came out. it happens all the time. it wasn't because you slammed the door, it was old age. the only thing you can do is replace the regulator. if you were smart enough to get the door panel off you should be able to replace the regulator. its pretty self explanatory. you may be able to get a regulator at a parts store, i'm not sure on this van. the one from the dealer won't be that much if you do it yourself. if you have them do it, its the regulator plus 1.5 hours labor.
- Q: Can anyone help? my pc wont turn on without them hooked up.
- You will need to look up the motherboard manufacturer to find the pinout for the cabling. That would be the fastest way. or you could use a small flat screw driver to short the pins until you find the right combo...the latter could result in damaging your mainboard but not likely. You will need to look at the original case plug if possible. HP/Compaq do not list the pinout nor is it written on the board. all it it listed as is HPanel1.
- Q: can i cut my computer Power Supply cables/USB and HDD cable to add an extension myself? They're all short.
- hahah are you kidding...yeah if you want to die...if you did that your psu would destroy your entire system when and if you tried starting it up and would most likely start a fire somehow...PSU's are very very sensitive and in no way should you try altering them..it would be a very very bad thing to do...best thing to do is buy a new one and make sure the cables are long enough
- Q: The power cable troughs are divided once and twice
- The function of the cable connector is used for the protection of the cable
- Q: It never occurred to me that the power cable -- the one connected from the outlet to the laptop's AC brick -- is rated at quot;125V - 7Aquot;. Does that mean it won't be able to handle the 240V in some countries? The brick itself is rated 100V - 240V, so it can be used internationally. In fact, I spent a year in France, where I used my Dell Inspiron just fine (with a prong adapter so it'll fit into the socket). The reason why I'm paying attention to the power cable is because the cable for my Nikon D80 battery charger has a quot;USsticker on it. The charger itself can handle 240V, but does this mean the cable cannot?
- read the stuff on the adapter. if it says 120-240 then you can use internationally. if not you CAN'T use it. you have to get a transformer then which will convert electric to 120.
- Q: ok i have somehow lost my power cable that goes from the outlet to the power block of the older version of the xbox 360 and is it possible that i can use an extension cord or something in place of that since i have lost it or do i need to get a whole new cord in all? yes this may sound stupid but i need some help on this one, thanks:)
- Well I don't know of any extension chord that could replace this fairly crucial component . I think you should look for another one with a friend that maybe has a broken xbox or an old pc.. You might find the piece you're looking for on another machine like a computer or a printer . Look around and see , good luck ;)
- Q: My system was working fine until today. The bass stopped hitting to the music and thumps in intervals of about 5 seconds regardless of whether the music is turned up or down. I hooked up my system without my capacitor to see if this was the problem. It worked...but only for a minute. The bass was hitting like it was suppose to but all of a sudden it went back to the interval thumping and the power cable got hot to the touch and the fuse inside the holder was melted. What the heck is the problem?
- to much electricity going throught the wire u need thicker wire try 0 gauge
- Q: remove just this cable or use different hd and it works fine, is the hd broken or is it a power consumption by the hd issue? tryed a different psu and its the same problem, unfortunately not got another pc handy to check the hd on. Thanks In advance?
- the hard drive has a short or you might have the thing plugged in backwards (either cable)
- Q: i know i need the sata cable and power cable is that all i need
- Yep, that's all you need. Some older SATA drives have legacy support for normal 4 pin molex connectors in addition to the SATA power cable. If your drive is one such, do not plug in both. Choose one or the other. If you buy a retail boxed drive instead of OEM, you should get a 4 pin molex to SATA power cable if you don't have SATA power connections already. It's also possible that the harddrive you bought is SATA2 (aka SATA 300gbps). If your motherboard only supports SATA 150gbps, there's a jumper you need to leave on the drive. If you have a SATA 300 drive and your motherboard supports SATA 300, you'll need to remove the pin for full speeds. It'll work though if you forget to remove it. You can look in the user's manual to see what your motherboard supports.
- Q: I have a usb hub that is externally powered that stays on 24/7 even when i shut my computer off. It is buried behind by desk so removing the usb power supply manually each time is what im trying to avoid. Is there anyway i can put a switch in the power cable going to it?
- Before you attempt this, make sure you have the following items: -Wire strippers -Electrical tape -Two terminal switch -Scissors IMPORTANT! make sure that the cable is unplugged from the computer and the hub before you do this! 1st, cut the cord halfway with the scissors. Next, remove the outer wire insulation from the two new ends you just cut with the wire strippers. Now strip the small colored wires that are now exposed. Then connect the red wire from one half of the cord to a terminal on the switch. Do the same with the other red wire from the other half of the cord and connect it to the other terminal on the switch. Strip the other small wires and connect them back to their appropriate colored wire. Finally, wrap each wire individually with electrical tape, then wrap the entire gap in the cord with it. Now plug the cord in and try it out!
