Q: The corners on my rugs are starting to curl up because they are getting old.. and loved! They go perfectly with the rest of my decor so I don't what to have to go find new ones.: I was in the same position a few months ago! Some people told me to use double-sided tape but that only worked on hard floors.. and that wasn't even every good. I ended up getting Ruggies or Ruggie Rug Grippers - they have worked great for me to secure mats on both hard floors and even on carpets. They're also reusable- if you just rinse it off, they will easily restick to a new rug.

Q: ok my parents are saying that they want to have wood floor in both of the living room also in the hall ways and they also want rugs in the bedroomwhat do u think: I have wood floors all through the house. Solid oak. I have rugs all over the house, most washable, except one in the living room which I clean with woolite. I don't really think they are cold in winter, we have a basement, which is insulated. They can be dusted with a swiffer duster, or a regular dust mop. They do need cleaned, and that is hard work or is for me now, with a bad back. By the way, I bought a shark steam pocket mop, the first time I used it, I sat it down for just a second, to move a candle stand. It make a white mark on my wood floor in the living room. I have rubbed and rubbed on that, I can still see it, no one else would probably notice it now, but be careful with those steam mops on hardwood. They really get hot. Do not let them sit a second without moving them.

Q: I am looking into buying a good carpet cleaning machine. I have looked at some brands like Bissel (spelling?)... and Hoover. Anyone know anything about them or own one? Are the supplies for them expensive? I also want something that wont leave a residue. Thanks for any help!: the main suitable ingredient I definitely have discovered is clorox 2 it cleans each little thing that a gadget cant get to, i exploit it on my furnishings and likewise on my vehicle carpet in my vehicle, i mixed it with little or no water and scrub the stain with a fabric, then blot it dry, tada,it leaves a great clean scent too!!

Q: I have this large red wings rug and I would like to hang it on the wall. It is 49.5 by 69.75 and I am having a hard time figuring out what to do with it.: Rugs and quilts are often hung on walls by stitching a sleeve onto the back, you then slip a dowel or rod behind it and hang it from that. Sleeves are a good way to hang this type of item because it supports the weight evenly and the piece won't sag. When I hang quilts I make a muslin sleeve about four inches wide the length of the quilt. I then hand stitch it to the top back of the quilt. A rug will be heavier, so you may need heavier fabric than muslin, maybe canvas, and you might want to use heavy duty or even buttonhole thread. I try to keep my stitches from going through to the front of the quilt, and I always stitch carefully so I can remove the stitching and sleeve without damaging the quilt. Good luck!

Some high-grade carpets has a kind of animal hair smell of mutton, low-grade carpet is made of raw materials of styrene or other smell of raw materials, but you have to see it is high-grade carpet or low-grade carpet if the carpet releases little formaldehyde.

Q: Okay, my little puppy tore up the carpet at my doorway where the hard wood floor meets the carpet. I have OCD and it bothers me so bad! lol! Question is, is there anyway that I can fix this without having to buy all new carpet? Or atleast any ideas to cover it up, but it has to look nice! Pictures will be below in a link!: Provided you can get the same type of carpet, you can seem in a piece. Basically you need carpet seeming tape, new carpet, and a carpet seeming iron. You have to take a straight edge or a square and cut off the bad section. Cut to match new section with straight edge or square. Warm up seaming iron match the run of the new carpet with The run of the old otherwise it will look really bad. Lay seam tape half and half between old and new carpet. .. better yet it would be esier for you to look up how to seam carpet on youtube. Good luck

Q: How can I remove wax from may carpet?: Do not use anything to heat the wax or your carpet, most carpets are made of synthetic material and will melt if overheated. If you know the carpet is wool, you can try to melt the wax, but if you do, it will just wick further into the fibers, making a bigger stain. Then you need specialized cleaners, turpentines, etc. Here's a much easier method: Take a bag of frozen peas or corn or ice cubes or an ice block and ice down the wax. Then use a dull knife (butter knife) to scrape off most of the wax. Chances are, this will remove most/all of it, as it probably wasn't all that hot and melty when it hit the carpet. Repeat until it's all or mostly scraped off. If there are still little bits that you cannot remove, I'd judiciously cut the carpet to remove those bits. It likely won't show, unless you've got Berber (closed loops) carpet.
