- Q: My daughter just spilled some Sunny D onto the carpet and it is not coming out. Any suggestions. I tried Oxy Clean, Resolve Carpet cleaner, and that other Duel Action one. NOTHING helped. Any home remedies..........Please help! This isn't the first time this happened. And still a light orange stain on my carpet. I would have thought that this would have came out easily considering that it is orange juice.
- Try white vinegar. Pour it onto the stain, let it sit a minute, then blot it with a clean white towel or rag--never rub!! Good luck!

- As for good cleaning solutions, I have found the Rug Doctor brand of carpet care products to work the best and be the most economical, particularly if you purchase them at a warehouse store in larger quantities.

- For candle wax. You can freeze it off. Take a can of keyboard cleaner or any canned air will do or even ice will work. Slowly spray the canned air on the wax or rub on the ice. Then when it's frozen just chip it away with a dull butter knife. This also works for bubble gum. Carpet cleaner for 13 years.

- Depends on the care label of the rug. Some rug fibers cannot handle agitation and will clog the filters. Or some rugs will just fall apart. I have washed small throw rugs in my washer fine.
- Q: I recently bought an area rug and it has a wrinkle I guess you would call it, in it. Its soooo annoying, we're tried re-rolling it the other way and vacuuming it out, ironing it out, and putting heavy things on it to make it stay flat. - I would use frebrez spray and hang it for a day outside on a clean line or fence so depends which rug did you buy so it would help a little!

- If it isn't torn, it might be able to be restretched and reattached to the edging....lift up the perimeter of the carpet and you should see a lath strip with tacks that hold the carpet. You can probably find instructions on the web and rent the equipment......simple device. The padding might be able to be taped back together. Zip over to pet section here on Yahoo and learn how to care for the pup. You may need to crate train the dog so it won't destroy the house when you are away. And when you are home, the dog is with you.....period. He's a member of the family.

I thought about renting the rug doctor for $20 from the local grocery store. Would it work well for commerical grade thin grey carpet that has some dirt, road salt, and grease in it from the several customers that walk on it every day?
- Yes they are industrial quality cleaners. It may take a long time. We run our Rug Doctor for over 5 hours cleaning our carpet when it is really bad. Use Clorox2 with your detergent. That helps with really bad spots.As long as you use the anti-foam you can use other detergents. Like dawn on your bad grease spots but don't use too much it suds up alot. We use laundrt detergent.

- The worms are probably the larval form of the carpet beetles. Routine vacuuming effectively removes carpet beetles which are already present, as well as hair and lint which could support future infestations. Particular attention while vacuuming should be paid to the edges of carpets, along baseboards, underneath furniture and similar quiet areas where carpet beetles prefer to feed. Insecticide applications directed into infested areas are often useful as a supplement to good housekeeping. Products containing active ingredients such as chlorpyrifos, permethrin, bendiocarb and allethrin are effective against carpet beetles. Sprays may be applied to carpets (especially beneath and along the edge adjacent to the baseboard), underneath furniture and other likely areas of infestation where prolonged contact with humans is unlikely. Clothing and bedding should not be sprayed and should be removed before treatment. Control of carpet beetles requires patience and a thorough inspection to locate all sources of infestation. Elimination of widespread, ongoing infestations may require the services of a professional pest control operator.
