- Q: How to best remove the greasy dirt on the carpet?
- Scrub the carpet with brush dipped in strong brine or gasoline. Learn some knowledge about the maintance and cleaning of carpet. ①If the blue ink stains the carpet, immediately use rice to rub it, then use neutral detergent, such as washing powder to wash it. ② If red ink stains carpet, immediately use alcohol to wash it , and then use neutral detergent to wash it again. ③If the carpet is left with old ink stain, the stains should be soaked with milk firstly, and then scrubed repeatedly by brush dipped in milk. ④If there are grease stains on the carpet, scrub the carpet with brush dipped in strong brine or gasoline. ⑤If the shoe polish or paint stain the carpet, scrub the carpet with banana oil or gasoline , and then wash it with neutral detergent. ⑥If there are blood stains on the carpet, scrub the carpet firstly with cold water, and then with salt brine or lemon juice. Don't use hot water to wash the carpet, because the blood will be solidified cement in hot water. ⑦If there are tea or coffee stains on the carpet, smear glycerol on the stains, then use cloth with warm water to wipe the stains, finally, use neutral detergent to wash it. ⑧ The soy sauce, vinegar, milk, ice cream, beverage and others stain the carpet, firstly absorb the stains with a aqueezed cloth which soaked in warm water at first, and then scrub the stains with alcohol .
- Q: My daughter just spilled some Sunny D onto the carpet and it is not coming out. Any suggestions. I tried Oxy Clean, Resolve Carpet cleaner, and that other Duel Action one. NOTHING helped. Any home remedies..........Please help! This isn't the first time this happened. And still a light orange stain on my carpet. I would have thought that this would have came out easily considering that it is orange juice.
- The problem that most people have when they spill some liquid on the carpet, they grab all these different carpet cleaning agents and try to clean it. This is the worse thing that you can do. Always flush the spill with plain water first, if this does not take it out do not mix all the different chemicals together, they can interact with each other and actually set the stain instead of removing the spot. The Sunny D has a dye in it and has to be neutralized, hopefully you have not permanetly set the stain. Flush the area with plain water to remove all that you have put into the carpet, then try a Detergent Solution - Mix one fourth teaspoon of a liquid dishwashing detergent per one cup of lukewarm water. NEVER USE A STRONGER CONCENTRATION! Thorough rinsing is necessary to remove detergent residues that may cause rapid soiling. It may be necessary to rinse with warm water several times to completely remove residues. Care should be used in selecting a detergent. Never use a laundry detergent of any type, because laundry detergents may contain optical brighteners that dye the fiber. Do not select an automatic dishwashing detergent because many contain bleaching agents that destroy dyes and some fibers. Work from the outside of the stain inwards so as not to spread it, and be sure to only use a white rag. Carpet fibers are absorbent and can pull coloring out of rags

- Mix warm watter with some oxy clean let set for 4 minutes, and soak up with towel. Repeat if stain seems to set. Also shout works great.
- Q: We have a wall-to-wall berber carpet, and we want to make it into a smaller area rug (perhaps 9'7quot; x 11quot;). Has anyone done this sort of thing before? - Local carpet stores don t have access to a rug binder? Thats strange.. Look further, when I had my store we had a place that picked up and dropped off our carpet we needed to have bound or surged..It was a week turn around time for us. But to answer you question yes you can have a pc done any size , shape or form. Some additional options are a felt backing sewn on as an anti slip mat.Surging ran our custumers about 2.5 $ a l/f. and binding was $2.00 a l/f.. Of course this can vary but it ll put you in the ballpark , price wise.. Some carpet guys have a binding machine to bind edges for when they do a carpet base like a lot of hotels use instead of a wood base.Any flooring questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL.

- No Way! Using a Rug Dr. would be a great way to ruin your couches. Call the store you bought them from or a reputable carpet cleaning company(one that has been in business a long time/and is insured).
- Q: I just got my rug back from the dry cleaner and it looks dull and still smells like mice urine.Is there a product that would revive the colors?
- This urine stained rug should have been cleaned by a hot water extraction carpet cleaner, who would have soaked the rug overnight in an enzyme solution, followed by a complete rinse and extraction prior to drying.

- Q: How do you remove paint from carpet?? It's a reasonably large spot of bright blue paint on cream carpet :S And it's been there for a while too... Any suggestions would be great!
- Buy some Lift-off Paint Remover. (OKorder or wherever) It will make easy work of removing the paint. My son spilled a pint of bright blue paint on the front seat of one of our cars. He kind of mopped it up and let it dry. He let it bake in the summer sun for a couple of weeks before I noticed it. A year later, I was going to sell the car so I tried to find a matching seat at the salvage yard, no luck. I decided to give the Lift-off a try. It took less then ten minutes and made a beach towel completely blue, but all the paint was gone. The Lift-off is non-toxic and very low odor.
- Q: what is the difference between steam cleaninig and deep cleaning? I don't think we have very dirty carpet but it was always suggested by our carpet cleaner (by the way - I hate how they always upsell their services). anyways - I want to have another carpet cleaning soon in the spring and would like to be more educated about this.Bottom line is - if 'steaming cleaning' does not clean... why bother having such service in the first place?
- Steam cleaning is a proven system and the best i think. Up selling is a known and just don't buy.Know what you want and stick to it. Make sure you get a reputable and that means an established company or reputation to be safe.
- Q: where can i get a liyyle patch of carpet online. for cheap. 5 by 2 inches preferacly so i can cut it into theright shape.
- Are your closets carpeted? That might be the only match for your visible carpet - and then you can put something totally different in the spot. Carpet tiles are available from carpet suppliers and in bigger home improvement stores - they also sometimes have out of style samples.
