Q: ok so i'm entering a competition to win a horse rug and am not sure how the sizing works. as a rough guide only, i need to know what size rug goes on what size horse (e.g. 15hh horse needs size _' _quot;). thanks :): he will need about a 56 or possible 59 depending on the make of the rug. best way is measure from centre of horses chest right round to point of buttock.

Q: The carpet is the basic (probably commercial) kind.: Even with VERY thin carpet under Pergo, you won't be happy, the floor will feel very unstable and squishy when you walk on it, the boards will click and crackle, and you will void the warranty on the Pergo. I know it is trouble, especially if the old carpet is glued down, but do not do it. If you REALLY can't get the carpet up, you will have to put down another plywood sub-floor over the carpet, and then install the Pergo on that. Good Luck.

Q: We got a wool area rug a month and a half ago. It sheds bunch. Is this normal? thanx: with wool rugs this is very common. When they make the rug lots of little pieces of loose wool get into the air and end up in the carpet itself. Its not a problem, vacuum lots, use a vacuum with a power head.

Q: Please define a "RUG" ?: I would say that a rug is a peice of carpet that can be moved from one area to another, such as an area rug. Typically, you'd use an area rug in a living room (under a coffee table) or in a dining room (under the table) or other various places. A mat would be like a door mat (indoor or outdoor) or a bath mat. Carpet would typically be installed and unable to be moved from one area to the next.

Q: Should the couch sit on top of the rug completely or should the rug be in front of the couch?: for that large of a room, you could have a floating arrangement - if that is the case, the rug should be large enough to come out past each piece of furniture by nearly 2 feet. if you have part of your furniture grouping against a wall, the rug should go approximately halfway under the sofa (and everything else). if a tv is a factor (which likely means it has to be against a wall), it is appropriate to have the rug tuck under the tv cabinet a little bit, or for the rug to end a little bit before the cabinet/console/whatever. that's the best i can do without seeing the room and drawing a space plan! hope it helps
