- Q: when i press my fingers on my guitars when doing certain chords, the base of my thumb starts to hurt, am i doing it wrong? if so, where should the force come from?
- You are probably pressing too hard with the thumb. You really shouldn't need to apply any pressure with the thumb in most cases. Your fingers alone should be able to press the strings down. You need to experiment with the exact amount of pressure to use to fret each string to get rid of this habit. It actually requires very little pressure to fret a string unless you have really high action or use a larger string gauge.
- Q: on my keyboard and it stretched out my screen.like if you were watching a video on your computer and you wanted it bigger.well i don't know what button i pressed and it's kind of aggravating.like it made the internet page take up the WHOLE screen and where you put the URL isn't there anymore..what button should i press.i have a dell if that matters.

- Q: I would like to press a purple carnation I got 3-4 days ago. I would prefer to press it onto just a piece of normal printer paper. What would be the best way to press my carnation (w/out getting any books dirty!)? - I have pressed flowers in the past with good results. Copy paper will do. You can either trim some of the stem or leave as is (as long as it's manageable). Place it on its side between two sheets of copy paper and place something heavy on top. I would suggest to use something like a manila folder on top the copy paper---then put a book on top or something else that's heavy. Leave it undisturbed for awhile. I am not sure at least a month---maybe more. I still have pressed flowers that I have had for 10+ years. Good luck!
- Q: I pressed a flower once, and it didn't work well, so I wanted to ask this time how to do it properly. I hear that wax paper works well, but since I have none, will plastic wrap work? What other good substitutes are there, about how much weight does a single rose need, and how long should I press it for? Thanks!
- I don't think it will work because instead of allowing the flower to dry, it will keep the moisture trapped around the flower. You'll end up with a moldy flower. I've always just placed the flower to be dried between two pieces of paper and them weighted it down with heavy books. It works great.

- Q: The 'Up' Button on my monitor presses on its own and holds and that maxes my contrast, i have locked the buttons but its still auto pressing, and i know this because a message 'Buttons locked' pops up, any idea on how to fix this?
- well it sounds like the switch under the button is going bad. you can break it so it can;'t be pressed ever again or you can take the plastic cap off the button so only the metal contact will show. this might solve you problem.

- When I was a newspaper reporter, we reporters used to laugh a bit at our friends asking us to get them a press pass. That was because, we felt, if you had to have a press pass, it wasn't going to do you much good. Yes, we all had press ID. But it was a point of pride not to use it -- just waltz up to the place or person and say, I'm from xyz news. How about that...(and ask your question.) But your situation is a bit different, I see. Okay, here's what some people in your situation (actually needing a press pass) did. We had a county press association, and when I was president, II made name cards for all the members -- even some who were freelancers like you. I think your idea of making yourself a news media with a blog is a good one. Print yourself up a card with your blog name on it, and your id for contacts -- name, phone#, email addy. I bet it would work -- make it _real_ official looking!
