- Q: ive got a 3 year old welsh cob and he takes his rugs off because he don't like them but i want to know how i could get him used to them.idea's?Thanks
- Leave the rug by him in the stable. When he's used to it you can start putting it on him. Leave it on for a minute when he's tied up outside and then increase the amount of time until he's wearing it for a long time. If he takes it off because it's uncomfortable, you could try getting a different style of rug or a lighter one if it's too hot. Hope this helps!
- Q: What can be laid on the carpet to prevent dirty?
- You can lay the oil absorbing carpet.
- Q: The tar has been on the carpet for four months
- I once got tar on my feet at the beach in Miami, and lo and behold, in the hotel's little store they had a product called Tar Off. Worked wonders. Go to any home supply store and they should have something for you.
- Q: I need an area rug for my living room and here is a picture of my inspiration room compliments of Pottery Barn. The carpet in my living room is like a beigeish oatmeal color. I also have small kids so something that could hide stains easily would be nice. My walls are white and my woods are Cherry...suggestions? Any specific hints in picking out a rug?
- Frontgate and Grandinroad offer indoor/outdoor rugs that look and feel like quality rugs but are easy to care for as they are able to be hosed down. They come in both traditional and contemporary looks and are great for high traffic areas and kids and pets. I have several of them inside my home and no one knows they aren't a higher quality rug. The Pottery Barn shot tells me you are looking at something more comtemporary so something with some great color choices to perk up the room would be great. These rugs are really inexpensive and great look so check them out. They come in all sizes and shapes. Grandinroad is slightly less expensive than Frontgate but look at both.
- Q: I'm getting new carpet put down in my room soon, but I'm very clumsy and I can't keep it clean. Is there some kind of carpet protector (much like a screen protector for a phone) that I can put over my new carpet?
- Don't take food or drink into your room keep all make up nail polish in the bathroom it should be OK.You could try putting a thick sheet of plastic over where you walk etc but really, you need to learn better habits is my advice.
- Q: How do you make old, trampled carpet quot;spongyquot;- feeling again?
- well if your carpet is still good, then rip up the carpet and get new padding for underneath it. (that's that spongy feeling that carpet has when it has good padding) I also recommend that if you don't know how to install carpet materials then get a professional to do the job. IN THE END in my point of view TILE is your best bet. I mean unless you like carpet then have at it with the new padding. BUT if you want the best choice of flooring, go with tile. It's much cleaner and easier to work with. (and just from experience: if you get a light colored tile then get a dark colored grout.) it looks great GOOD LUCK!!!
- Q: is it okay to wash rugs in the washing machine? it won't damage it, or cause damage to future loads?
- yes if it fits and was inexpensive. don't do it if it was an expensive pile rug, oriental, or if you have contrasting colors- red and cream, black and white, etc. don't dry them in the dryer though.
- Q: I've read you shouldn't put them on hardwood because it doesn't allow the wood to breath or something along those lines. Secondly, if you use a rug without the rubber backing do you have to use a pad so it doesn't slide and scratch the floor? Thanks
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Rubber backed rugs on hardwood floors - Is this allowed? I've read you shouldn't put them on hardwood because it doesn't allow the wood to breath or something along those lines. - Q: Does anyone know the daily care of horse rugs? Like what to check for. Thanks..x
- Daily care of rugs. My horse is in at night (weathers cold) and wears two rugs. In the morning I tie him up out side his box for breakfast the when I remove his rugs I shake them out, turn them inside out and hang in the yard to air through and if necessary dry off the pooey bits. Later that can be brushed off.. Check that the straps are in good working order also the buckles at the front. If he goes out during the day he wears his heavy waterproof rug with a neck piece and due to wetness after all the snow it gets plastered with mud from rolling. The mud dries out during the course of the day and when he comes in, it can be brushed off while he is still wearing it.. If it's wet still, hang it up to dry in a shed if possible but not near your tack as the dampness isn't good for leather. Check it all round for rips, tears and loose buckles/straps etc. When a horse starts to shed his winter coat, your work will really start! All those hairs to brush off the inside of the rug. I use a rubber curry comb or a pair of damp rubber gloves and then a good shake and hang to air out. Different rugs for different times of year - some of the lightweight ones can be put in the home washing machine once a week. When the summer arrives, get all the heavy weight ones professionally cleaned and re-proofed. Well worth the money.
- Q: i have a little dog and i'm still training her so i have a carpet cleaner spray i use on her areas that she had an accident on. Well anyway she did her thing inside instead of outside and i grabbed the tilex tile cleaner with bleach instead of the carpet cleaner and now my carpet is bleached in 2 areas! I am moving apartments in a month and i am afraid i wont get my deposit back. Is there any carpet dye or somthing i could do???
- Dying bleach stains in a carpet can be done, but that is something usually best left to a professional. Try contacting local flooring companies, or check your local registry to see if you have someone in your area that does 'carpet repair, or dye'. If the bleach stains aren't very large, then it might be possible to 'swap' a portion of the carpet out of a closet, and patch it. Again, this isn't something I would recommend for a novice. It does take a bit of skill to make a patch that blends in so it isn't visible. Using carpet dye, or patching a carpet, are two things that can very easily end up with more problems than you started with, hehe. In a worst case scenario, the carpet could be replaced.. so it would be a toss up, as to which would be more expensive, losing the deposit, or installing new carpet. Before replacing it, I'd suggest you double check with the apartment management. Many apartment complexes will keep at least a portion of the deposit, for 'cleaning' anyway, so there is a chance you won't get your full deposit back, even if you leave it with absolutely no damage at all. The only way around it would be to hire a professional cleaning company yourself, and that usually costs more than letting the apartment management have their maintenance/cleaning employees do the work. I would recommend that, if you cannot find someone to repair the carpet, that you get some estimates on replacing it. Then, if the apartment management tries to keep the entire deposit, you make them break it down by cost (in writing). If their cost for carpet replacement is higher than your estimates, you've got something you can use to barter with, if it is worth your time. Good Luck
