Standard: IEC60502;BS5467:1997 with Amendment 1

Conductor: Soft annealed stranded copper wires to BS6360, class 2, concentrically stranded in successive layers, in opposite direction, to form the stranded conductor. Aluminum also available

Insulation:The conductor are insulated with a layer of extruded XLPE/PVC compound.

Filling:The assembled cable is filled with a layer of PVC compound in order to fill the interstices between the cores and render the cable round.

Armoring: Consists of single layer of Steel Tape/Galvanized steel wires of appropriate size.

Sheathing: An outer protection of extruded PVC compound is applied over the armor.

Voltage rating: 0.6/1kV,3.6/6kV;6/10KV;8.7/15KV;12/20KV;18/20KV;19/33KV;21/35KV;26/35KV

Operating temperature:

90 continuous normal operation, 130 for emergency overload condition and 250 for short circuit condition

Application:

For outdoor and indoor installations in damp and wet locations, laid direct in the ground where excessive mechanical stresses are present in sloping and moving terrains and in vertical or inclined laying, as well as in locations susceptible to sliding.

Q: can we install power 480 VAC and control 120 VAC cables,,, each one in different conduit but in parallel and adjacent ?also for two control cables ,,,, can they installed in one conduit ?
Yes. That shouldn't be a problem. if it were data or extra low voltage dc then there could be some mutual induction issues. generally speaking. low and extra low voltage can be installed in the same conduit as long as the extra low voltage cables are insulated to the higher voltage present. ie use all cables rated at the highest voltage.
Q: I was playing Call of Duty Black ops when i looked down at my mess of cables. I have a lamp the also plugs into the same power outlet. When i looked down my lamp(that i leave on 10 out of 24 hours of the day) had this white stuff on it. I didn't think too much of it at that time but i looked at it again later and i was nervous that it could be dangerous. Anyone have any idea's as to what it could and if it is dangerous? Will it continue to spread? I don't want my ps3 to be destroyed. I looked on the internet and it sounds like Battery post corrosion. Not sure though. Thank you very much.
Corrosion! caused by oxidation, not dangerous Buy new wires, cables ect. Before it's to late
Q: Hi,1) Is spinning down of hard disk same as removing the power cable of the hard disk ? 2) Will the IDE cable connected carry power to the hard disk when the power cable is removed ?3) How do we spin down the hard disk manually ?
1) When you unplug the power cable, it spins down, because there is no power. In order to read data from the hard disk it needs to be spinning. When it is not spinning, you cannot read data from it. Some power saving systems will allow you set the hard drives to spin down after a long time that it has not been used, to conserve power. After that, to read from the disk it needs to be spun up, and that takes a few seconds. 2)No. 3) You cannot manually spin a hard disk, it spins at 7200 (some models 5400) rpm. That's VERY fast.
Q: What is resistance of the cable (resistivity of copper is1.7x10^-8)Answer is 14 ohms. But please explain how do we get there in full detail.
Resistance (R) of a wire is given by: R = ρ.L / A where (ρ) is the resistivity of the wire in Ω.m ; (A) is the cross sectional area of the cable in m? ; (L) is the length of the wire in metres. Radius (r) of one strand = (0.51 / 2) = 0.255 mm = 0.000255 m Cross sectional area of one strand = πr? = (π * 0.000255?) = 2.0428 x 10^-7 m? Total cross section of cable = (12 * 2.0428 x 10^-7 m?) = 2.45 x 10^-6 m? R = (1.7 x 10^-8 * 2000 / 2.45 x 10^-6) = 13.87 = 14 Ω to 2 significant figures.
Q: I need to resolve a debate- is there a power/telephone line under the sea running between the UK and USA? Or is the communication just done by satellite?
Satellite lol If there was a cable some kind of fish or something would of cut it by now.
Q: Electrical equipment installation project "power cable laying" cable cross-sectional area refers to the cable cross-sectional area, or refers to the copper core cross-sectional area, such as 3 × 25mm2 refers to 25mm. 75mm2 or cable cross-sectional area of 490mm2? More
Is not the power cord is loose, or is the motherboard battery power
Q: I have an old school Soundstream 500s amplifier(500 Watts) and I want to put it in my 1965 Mustang Coupe. I want to have a small but clean sounding system for the old car, probably with two small subwoofers too. I need to get all new cables for this sound system, so what would be a good power cable for the amp? I need roughly about 25-30 ft. of cable just to be safe and a fuse as well.
Kicker,Tsunami,Memphis, or KnuConceptz. U can get away with 8awg but thats a nice car and u dont want to risk fryin anything so stick with 4awg I really dont recommend 8awg in ANY setup just dont like it, 4awg is perfect and gives u headroom as well, and 0awg wuld be overkill.
Q: if I buy a new 4 pronged power cable how should i install in the dryer, what should i do with the extra 4th wire of the cable, pls help Thanks
There should be an instruction paper with the plug you buy, as to what should I do with the extra wire or go to Home Depot and ask them. You'd better make sure you know what your doing before you plug it in, maybe get someone over that knows? or, an electrician.
Q: Many of the complete amplifier kits, example rated for a 700 watt amplifier come with a 10 gauge power cable. Many of the gauge charts from the online car audio techs, would recommend a 4 gauge wire, but they sell the amp kits with the 10 gauge. I guess bigger is better, more efficient and safer for the installation, but I would expect them to add some * adjacent to the kit specs with their recommendation.
Power Cable Gauge
Q: i hooked up all my 4 gauge power ground cable from the batteries of my truck i passed both of them thru the fire wall but what i was wondering is will i have a problem since its the power ground coming thru the same hole thru the fire wall or will i be all good ? somebodyy help
Make sure the edges of the hole aren't sharp or rough, to prevent the wire insulation being damaged. Usually, the ground wire on the amp is mounted to nearby metal instead of running a line all the way to the engine. Then, you can beef up the wire from the battery to frame in the engine compartment if necessary.
