- Q:my power cord on my laptop is acting up to the point where I have to literally hold it in place to have it charge the battery and now the computer isn't coming on- the battery light is showing up when you push the power button but i don't know if it is charging-if there is anything you can tell me to fix this, that would be great!!
- My power cable was having a problem too. What I did was just go out and get another cable because it seems that it is either your battery, or your power cable. So just go out get it replaced and Wala! It should work again...
- Q:I recently switched to cable tv ,internet telephone. i now have 2 tv converter boxes + modem box(?) on 24/7. i did not have that equipment before.my electric use is up 1.5 kw a day vs last year since the change. at first i blamed it on a warmer summer. but the last few weeks have been mild and the new bill today is still higher.did changing and the new equipment cause the extra electric use ?
- look at the back of each device. it will show you a current rating and usage, exmple 45 watts. Add em up Whats strange is that they draw power even when turned off.some even more when off. use a power strip with an on off switch so you can turn them all off when not in use. Turn them all on watch your electric meter spin. Unplug them and watch it spin. The difference is your savings.
- Q:How can we manage power (voltage ) loss in the long distance if elcetricity is fed along with the cable?
- The repeaters use copper wire bundled together with the fiber optic to power the repeaters, the voltage drop is managed with an engineered choice of voltage and current. Each cable has a different combination to suite the particular distance. And each cable would be tailored for the individual application.
- Q:My mother has moved to Australia, taking her Fujitsu Siemens (Amilo model) laptop with her. Very shortly after, her power cable stopped functioning, and she would like a new one. Unfortunately, she is not tech-savvy at all and doesn't seem to be able to find the thing online, and I being from Europe, have trouble searching in her stead. I don't even know what an Australian plug looks like and I have no clue regarding the currency...All and any help is much appreciated.
- Just get a small plug adapter in Australia. That will be cheaper than buying a whole new power cable.
- Q:ok i have somehow lost my power cable that goes from the outlet to the power block of the older version of the xbox 360 and is it possible that i can use an extension cord or something in place of that since i have lost it or do i need to get a whole new cord in all? yes this may sound stupid but i need some help on this one, thanks:)
- Well I don't know of any extension chord that could replace this fairly crucial component . I think you should look for another one with a friend that maybe has a broken xbox or an old pc.. You might find the piece you're looking for on another machine like a computer or a printer . Look around and see , good luck ;)
- Q:So my computer monitor keeps flickering on and off and I'm pretty sure the cable just needs to be replaced. My concerns or questions are,-Are all power cables compatible, or do I need a specific one for my model?-If not compatible, how do I tell what type of monitor I have or what it's model is?Deeply appreciated,Lauren
- Hi Lauren, Dell monitors use the same power cable as the system tower does. They are interchangeable. You may try swapping the power cables of the monitor and the tower to be sure that the cable is faulty. Hope this helps. Regards, GauravS
- Q:I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 DVR Digital Cable box and yesterday when I arrived home, it was not showing the time or any evidence of power. The TV and DVD player work just fine, but not the box. I unplugged it, tried a different plug but no power. I hear the box working, but it never shows any sign of powering on. This box is maybe a month old.Any thoughts?
- I have a Scientific 2200 and it won't power on either. I've tried everything. It happened 2x in the last week. The other time it came back on by itself after a little while. This time -nothing. Tech is coming tomorrow. Better be bringing a new box......
- Q:hi,i was wondering...can battery powered tv have cable? or do the battery powered tv not need cable? my niece likes spongebob so if she does come over she can watch it....but i just want to know before i buy it...thanks...P.S:so do they already have all the cable shows?or they dont?and if they dont do you have to put cable....and if they cant....then i shouldn't buy it?
- can battery powered TV's have cable? Some can and some can't. It depends on the details! Details: 1. Some battery powered TVs were made for use only with their built in antenna and don't have any way to connect to a cable system. You should look for a model with both a jack for an external antenna/cable and NTSC QAM tuners. 2. so do they already have all the cable shows? What do you mean? TVs are only receivers and you have to supply them with signals. Spongebob is a cable/satellite only program so you can't get it with an antenna. You have to have either cable or satellite TV service to get it. 3. battery powered Since you have to connect it to cable, why so you want it to be battery powered. Battery powered means small screen and limited run time between charging. 4. How does your local cable company supply it's signals? If it uses DTA adapters or is still using analog signals, any old TV will do.
- Q:My cousin gave me his old xbox but hes lost the cables so i asked one of my friends for his xbox cables to see if it still works and when i tried plugging it in the power wouldn't go in the xbox my cousin has is a halo 3 limited edition which is either an arcade or hes taken the hardrive and my question is, do all xbox-es have the same Cables for power etc and if not were can i get the right power cable for this console preferably bought in the uk
- The 360's power supply is actually 2 parts. First is the cable that actually plugs into the wall. This is identical across all 360s, however the wall plug differs from country to country. Normally you can just get an adapter from the electronics store for this. However, the second part (the brick) is very different. First it differs depending on the country you're in, and then it differs depending on the specific model of 360 your have. Newer models don't need as much power, so their bricks output a lower amount of DC current. Also, the electrical system differs from country to country. In the US for instance, the power system runs on 120V but in most of Europe (including the UK) it's 220V. I do not know if the bricks are capable of adapting to both power systems. If not, plugging power brick from the US into the wall in the UK will damage the power brick and maybe even the 360. The Halo3 360 is one of the older models, while the Arcade is one of the newer ones. You may have damaged your 360 because the power brick sent too much power into the 360. You'll have to call Microsoft's support line so you can read the exact model numbers off the 360 and power brick to determine if they're compatible. They can probably also help you with obtaining a new cable or brick as well.
- Q:I'm only asking this on here out of interest, this is not homework. I want to know how to calculate exact distances between to poles connected at the top by a cable. The length or height of the objects are not important to me, but if you must use an example please do so. So I want to know what formulas to use, what variables in those formulas mean, and how the slope of the cable will affect the distance. For example, if two poles have a distance between them of 0, and the cable extends 100, it would not mean that the drop of the cable (called a catenary?) would be 50, (it's misleading because you would think that since the distance between the two poles is 0, the cable would drop 50 and rise 50. But this is not taking into account the slope it has to take at the bottom of the catenary. It must lose some drop (perhaps to 48 or 49) in order to bend and rise back up...I want this out of my head, it's bugging me that I can't figure it out.
- No sign can commute faster than the fee of sunshine (neglecting tachyons, that have in no way been pronounced interior the genuine international, yet in concept can in no way slow all the way down to or commute under the fee of sunshine). The ropes and poles could flex because of the fact the sign traveled alongside them. because of the fact that they'd not flow right this moment, the sign could commute at a speed nicely under c. right that's a version on the pole concept. think you have 2 very long poles crossed at an attitude. The poles are rotating from their crossed orientation to alter into extra parallel. the factor P the place the poles bypass will commute down the poles as they attitude parallel, shifting faster and faster. Can the action of P exceed the fee of sunshine? particular it could! P would not have any actual manifestation and for this reason no mass; for this reason its action isn't constrained with the aid of relativity. in spite of the undeniable fact that, if P did have mass -- as an occasion, if there became a hoop around the crossing factor -- then the poles could be compelled to flex because of the fact the relativistically increasing mass drew further and further ability from them. * To Michael under: Einstein's particular concept of Relativity states that it could consume an limitless quantity of ability to strengthen up any particle with mass to the fee of sunshine. So that is impossible to strengthen up even an electron to the fee of sunshine, regardless of the certainty that scientists can get very very close now. Photons have not have been given any mass so as that they commute on the fee of sunshine and easily on the fee of sunshine (and is the reason why every person measures an identical fee for c). Tachyons have an 'imaginary' mass (a dissimilar of the sq. root of -a million) and so as that they can't commute as slow or slower than mild... merely faster!
