- Q: what makes pump come on every 10 seconds when water is on
- Most likely the check-valve is failing to stop flow back to the well. Replace the check valve. It's the metal cylinder just between the pump and the water pipe coming to it from the well.
- Q: I bought a new water pump for my 89 S10 Blazer with the 4.3 V6. The guy at Autozone wanted to know if I wanted a standard one or the heavy duty. I bought the heavy duty one because it was only $5.00 more. Are they just built stronger or do they actually move more water?
- The intense flow in simple terms strikes greater water in line with revolution the a manufacturing facility pump. Heavy accountability must be the comparable because of the fact the hi-flow, whilst the electrical powered pump would not use the fan belt to coach the pump, this is have been given a small electric powered motor to try this. See if there is any distinction between hi-flow heavy accountability, get one in all those.
- Q: I want to either get a kit to rebuild the water pump or just by the entire assembly, but im not sure which water pump/kit that i will need for a 1997 mercury 25 hp 2 stroke.Serial Number 0G474648,1997 year, model is 25el according to transom plate.Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
- Water pump rebuild kit from Mercury, part# 99157T2, about $65. The kit includes the impeller, all gaskets and seals, wear plate and pump body insert. Sierra marine offers a cheaper kit, but their kit does not include the wear plate or pump insert, and these parts cannot be purchased separately from Sierra, so I would not recommend this kit, unless your wear plate and pump insert have been previously changed in the last 3 years.
- Q: The water pump in my trecel is damaged and i need to take it to a shop that's about 20 minutes away from my house will turning on the heater and adding coolant help me to get the car there without damaging the engine
- Yes. I would recommend taking a jug of water with you. Keep an eye on your temp and if it gets too hot pull over wait a while then add more water. Turning the heater on will help pull the heat away from the engine which will help keep the engine cool. I just had the same issue with my 95 Civic and the shop was about 25 minutes from my house.
- Q: I have a new water pump with its new gasket to be installed tomorrow. Do I still need to apply a gasket sealer (blue RTV silicone) on the gasket itself? If I do, do I need to apply it on both sides of the gasket? Thank you.
- It doesn't hurt. You just need it on one side. It is best to put it on the water pump and let it dry a bit then put the gasket on. The silicone will hold the gasket in place so you can put the water pump on a little easier.
- Q: looking for ideas and info to build a simple and rustic wind powered pump for a backyard pond. I don't want to use any elecricity and I would like to create something that once its made, will be trouble free and simplistic in operation. I esp. want info regarding the vane design and the method of drawing the water. I would appreciate any web sites, but I don't want to buy any pre-designed thing or plans.
- I suggest you buy one ready-made if you want trouble-free operation. Here in rural NZ they're common on farms. You can buy versions that stop pumping when your pond water has reached a certain level. They don't need any electric power and they work for years without problems. As you probably know, suction pumps can only raise water about 10 metres, but I think you can buy wind-powered pumps that push the water up from below. The vanes are connected to the piston at the bottom of the bore by a linkage.
- Q: Why should the water inlet of water pump be fitted with reducer?
- Is the water in the end sealing (Shaqi) under the condition of satisfying the original design of the pumping pipe flow.Water injection; height of the larger, more sacred,
- Q: think the water pump is behind the crank pulley but im not certain I've pulled apart the front end but I'm having a hard time getting the pulley off so I want to make sure the part im trying to pull off is not the wrong one.
- your water pump is located in the front center of the engine behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. The timing belt must be removed to service the pump and recommend changing the belt at the same time. the only special tool you will need is a puller to remove the crank pulley this can be rented at an auto parts store the rest comes apart with basic hand tools. I recommend buying a service manual for your car at the parts store you get the other items needed to change the pump it will give you a step by step procedure for changing your belt and pump.
- Q: i have a problem with what i think is my water pump, and i was wonder if anyone had any websites that have free engine diagrams, and if it is my water pump, it turns on and off when at idle, is that normal, if not, what could be the problem?
- The water pump runs whenever the engine is running it doesnt stop unless the motor is off. If it's leaking out of the weep hole or making alot of noise it's most likely bad. Your best bet it to buy a manual or take it to someone.
- Q: Motor has over 200k miles. Water pump took a dump. Gear is very wobbly! primary timing chain tensioner off the right bank hasn't any tension on chain at all! Crank turns but doesn't turn the chain. So motor is way out of time for sure now.Found small piece of aluminum and 2 -1/2pieces of appears to be a spring pin. Am I correct to assume these pieces are from the water pump? A new chain and water pump I can see doing on this old motor! But? Any suggestions on what to do next before I waste my money? What kind of compression reading can I get with all the plugs out and manually turning the crank? Short answers of scrap it not welcomed! I'll determine that after I'm satisfied it's truly bad! Thanks!
- I also own a 2001 Intrepid and recently had a water pump go bad which also broke my timing chain. The pieces of aluminum you found are probably valves or valve springs from the head. Mine broke every vavle and spring on one head when my engine jumped time and a few more on the other head that is probably what your seeing. Also you don't want to check for compression by turning the crank manually. It is an expensive job to fix but the cars are great but I wouldn't spend too much on them because they only go for about $3000-3700 in great condition nowadays. Good Luck
