Q: Hey I'm trying to find a comfortable chair for long sessions at my desk. For games and for my **** ton of homework. I don't have a massive budget but I'm not too cheap. Q: fabric chairs: Your question needs to have more information provided in order for me to assist you better. When talking about chairs, have you looked on the underside of the seat area to see if it is screwed down and removable? Or are they like parsons chairs that are completely covered with fabric from the seat to the back of chair? You need to be more specific on type of chair before I can tell you how to do this. If the seat portion of the chair is removable(look underneath, and unscrew screws holding it on) Take seat off. Place seat of chair faced down onto fabric of choice, cut out fabric using chair seat as guide. Draw up side of fabric to be sure you have ample fabric to come to bottom of chair. Wrap seat as of you were wrapping a gift and staple with heavy gage stapler. Screw back on seat. If this is a solid fabric chair, consider buying slipcovers or making your own out of sheets.

Q: I found a very cool shaped very old chair at a junk shop for $5. It is in fairly good shape and sturdy (none of the arms or legs wiggle). But it is missing the seat, which I would imagine was one time a woven cane seat that has fell out. I would prefer not to re-cane a new seat (I have done this before, but I don't find it comfortable to sit on this type of seat and they don't wear well). I would much rather put in a padded upholstered seat, but am not sure how? There is just a large hole in the middle where the seat used to be, and I'm having trouble thinking of ways to attach a piece of wood with padding and upholstery. It doesn't have to be super sturdy, as it won't have more than a 170lb person in it, and will more than likely not be used daily (it will be for our bedroom). Any ideas?Chair similar to this one (no seat)- http://krypton.mnsu.edu/~wayne/Caning/roundchair.JPG: Well, I think the thing to do here is cut a piece of 1/4 plywood and inch or so bigger in each dimension than the hole. then put your piece of foam on it with some spray adhesive, and wrap like quilt batting and upholstery fabric over it and staple underneath. then to attach, without damaging your antique frame, I would say attach some turn button type things. If you glued some blocks onto the plywood just a little thinner than the chair frame, and then some longer blocks screwed to those which trap the chair frame under them.

Your Q came up on screen just as I was fidgetting in my padded, swivel, adjustable , multi-bearing castor chair at home. It' shouldn't be difficult should it. I write a lot as well, and I have no problem then. But, thinking about it, I lean on the desktop as I write.

Q: I'm starting to get into gaming. I'm not looking for a gaming chair, I'm looking for an office chair that's comfy. I have an xbox and I'm getting a desk for Christmas. I want to throw in an office chair too. Since I will be gaming on my desk, I will be sitting for long periods. I currently have this plastic Ikea chair that hurts my back after a while. I'm looking for the chair to be 100 dollars and less. I can't spend too much. I've seen there's mid-back, task chair, and a high executive.
