Q:*the chairs from the ceiling that hang,,, what do they hang from and how sturdy are they?
It's a tie between the first two. I am dreadfully fearful of the idea of being burned alive but I also don't like being pummeled alive. I'm honestly leaning more towards electric chair being worst, in my case of course. Hanging, looks so innocent now, seems like the neatest and most painless choice.
Q:My husband has become addictd to fishing in free time recently. Yesterday he told me the chair he is using is not comfortable and asked me to buy him a new one. I search for a while, and found chairs with a cup holder look awesome
You can't judge a chair's comfort by the looks of it, but this does look nice. If chair comfort is a priority he should go to a camping store and sit in different types of chairs to find the style that feels right to him. We are all built a little differently. When I fish from the shore or on a dock I usually stand, when I want to sit I use a small stool. Better than a chair for me. P.S. Please take a moment to award a Best Answer to one of those who answers your question. Maybe not mine, but one of those who took their time to try to help.
Q:I work from home as a web and graphic designer, and am in my office chair about 11 hours a day.I'm going to buy a new chair and am looking for something very modern / sleek / and as comfortable as possible.I'm considering either the Humanscale's Freedom chair or Herman Miller's Aeron Chair. Can someone make a recommendation as to which one of these two are best and why?
Why Herman Miller? I have found the chairs from Global are comfortable and they test the chairs well. I have had a couple of them over the years. The ones that were bought for me and came from other places are not as comfortable. One of the chairs was so complicated that it came with a driver disk!
Q:My fiance and I bought this chair from Rent A Center for only $100 cash and it is originally a $500 chair! 360-degree swivel chair.. enough room for two people.
On the surface it seems to be a great deal ; a $ 500 swivel chair for $100. But since you know(I hope you did) that Rent A Center only sells used items that it has previously rented out to other people, you have to be careful what you buy from them. Some items that were rented out and then sold cheaply were later found to be infected with bed bugs, other types of bugs, caked fecal matter, discoloration from urine either from pets or people ,and other stuff. So check your chair carefully and if clean then relax and enjoy your purchase.
Q:Hey, so I bought a wing chair from goodwill, I'm going to clean it, but the fabric is ugly, and I want to put new fabric on, how do I go about doing this?
Re-covering a wing chair is a job for an expert upholsterer so i wouldn't recommend it for a first project unless you're a great seamstress already. However, you can make a passable slipcover for it. Choose a soft but sturdy fabric in a solid cover or small or large print (no stripes, medium scale prints or plaids -- too hard to match patterns). You'll need about 6 yards, at least. One cheap way to get a lot of fabric is to buy bedsheets or fabric shower curtains. I made a nice chair slipcover years ago from two heavy cotton large tableclothes, 60 x 120 each that cost me less than $15 total. Wash and machine dry your fabric first to pre-shrink it. You can either make paper patterns by smoothing brown wrapping paper over the areas of the chair and cutting the pieces to fit OR just smooth the fabric over each area (the back, the seat cushion, the sides) and cutting the pieces with an inch on each side. Pin the pieces together over the chair with the good side of the fabric towards the chair and the seam edges out, then sew the seams together. Then turn the slipcover right side out and slip it over the chair. Sew woven tape ties or ribbons at the bottom edge near all 4 legs and tie them around the legs to keep the cover from riding up or slipping. If the seat cushion is removeable, make the cover to fit the chair with the cushion off, then make a separate slip cover for the seat cushion with a zipper or velcro to close one side. If you go to a fabric store, some of the pattern companies (like mcCalls, Butterick and Simplicity) have patterns that give instructions for making slipcovers like this -- your local library probably has upholstering guide books too. Good luck with your chair!
Q:I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and one of my fears is sitting in rocking chairs. I'm always afraid that when it goes back it won't stop and I'll fall on my head. I don't think there is a phobia specifically related to rocking chairs, so there has to be some other way to trigger this fear. Basically, I was wondering what this fear is actually of and what it's technical name is. (_____phobia)
i have a fear that they are gonna rock on my bare feet. i will never allow a rocking chair into my home. Its better to be safe then sorry.
Q:Given a weight and the angle of the legs, how do I calculate how much force each leg of a chair supports?I'm kinda-sorta sure of how to do this problem in 2D, but I have no idea how to do it in 3D.
Assuming that each leg is identical and positioned at equal distances to each other, they should each support an equal fraction of the total weight, unless the weight isn't being put on the chair equally. e.g. if a four-legged chair, with legs peripendicular to the floor, has to support 100lb, each leg should support 25lb each. If the legs are at an angle, just use the leg as the hypotenuse of a right trangle, the 25lb as one side of the angle, and use trigonometry to find the force (length) of the hypotenuse.
Q:I'm looking for an office chair that cheap, but decent, and it doesn't have to be a brand name.
Cheap Office Chairs Under 50
Q:Can't put my actual tent up and need to make one with blankets and chairs. Please please help me.
Can u seriously not figure it out yourself?
Q:I have this executive office chair which, through an unfortunate turn of events, one of the legs on the base split off and makes it extremely difficult to sit in.I've tried repairing it with simple things like wire, rope, and JB-Weld, but the poor leg always seems to come off no matter what I try.I've looked into buying a new base, but after looking at the prices it seems it would be a whole lot cheaper just to buy a new chair. It just seems a waste to throw out a perfectly good chair just because one of the legs broke off, though. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use to use to try to fix it? Or maybe is there a store out there (online or not) that sells bases to executive office chairs fairly cheap? Thanks!!!
Many of those chairs use cast legs, which can't even be welded. If you don't want to buy new legs, you'd either need to fabricate new legs, and that would take time and $$ and probably not save you much in the long run. I think it's time for the recycle bin.
