- Q: I have a microfiber chair that is looking a little dingy, what is the best way to clean it? Is there a good product? Any advice??
- I had a Microfiber chair. I also have a black lab. When she was a puppy, she would vomit, pee, and do almost every imaginable nasty thing to that chair that you can imagine. Here is how i cleaned it when needed... 1. I have a bissell carpet cleaner with hose attachments. I filled the resevoir with HOT water. I filled the cleaner tank with... lysol cleaner with fabreeze. I first sprayed the chair with the cleaner out of a spray bottle so that the cleaner could work its magic for 15 minutes before i turned on the bissell. After presoaking with the cleaner, i turned on the bissell and sprayed it with hot water. i waited for a few minutes, 5 at most, and then began to spray and suction repeatedly all over the chair. This worked awesome and did not discolor or bleach the fabric. It also left the fabric smelling very very nice, since it had febreeze in it. After i cleaned it, i sprayed the chair with 3M SCOTCH GUARD in order to prevent later stains. Now my puppy is fully grown and doesn't do nasty things to the furniture. Good Luck. -Luis Pernia

- I assume you are talking about renting chairs for the reception, and the answer is, it depends. Each church is different. But usually, if you rent the hall, chairs and tables are included in the price. Otherwise, if you have a caterer, they can arrange for the chairs as well. If you use the church for the ceremony, there will be chairs (of course) in the sanctuary. If you have the ceremony in the reception all, then again, the chairs usually come with the space. If for some reason you have to rent chairs, however, the cost is not too bad. We needed to do it for a big party in my family (not in a church), and the rental company arranged to deliver the chairs and pick them up. I don't remember the price right now, but I remember being surprised at how reasonable it was. There are so many big expenses for a wedding. Chairs are going to be only a minor part. - I love rocking chairs and swings as well as anyone, and have since I was a little girl. It is the comforting motion, so relaxing, that I like to daydream in. Also, my computer chair swivels, tilts and rocks, as does my recliner. I have always wanted a glide rocker because they don't need the room for the rocker arms, but the rocker recliner is better....I can and do nap in there once in a while.

- Q: Recently someone told me that to improve my riding when i can't get out the the barn, I should post in a chair. How can I do this? How else can I improve my riding off-horse?
- You can straddle a chair and practice rising up and down. This is of questionable usefulness for practicing posting because when you are on a horse, you are supposed to have the horse's action lift you out of the saddle (mostly). What doing it over a chair will help with is your thigh strength, and the feel of being balanced, with your heels under your hips. Overall, I don't think it will help you improve your riding very much, but if you're bored and wish you were riding, it can do no harm.
