Q: i have an eames lounge chair how do I find the year and authenticity of it?: Thought this might still be useful esp for others who are also looking for the same stuff. Here's what I can say on this: Looking for a leather armchair that looks old-fashioned, and at the same time, has the kind of usage you are thinking about (the term “gynaecologist” was kind of a dead giveaway) can be rather difficult, and may require you to go to a custom furniture maker. This can be a somewhat embarrassing ordeal, if the design you showed is any indication of what the chair is to be used for. There are websites however, that do have similar looking seats, although not with arms as long as you pictured. There are chairs that are old fashioned looking, and there are chairs that have relatively long arms, as you depicted in your sketch, but for an old-fashioned looking chair with arms that long, some modifications may have to be made if you purchase a ready-made one from any of the online stores you search through. There are some that may be worth looking into, like this traditional looking button armchair with red leather upholstery and leather padded arm rests. You can have a local furniture maker alter the seat’s arms to get these to be as long as you want them to be, and to have them pad these with the same colored leather as the seat, to give you what you want.

Q: Is there something you can buy to put under the legs of a chair, so when you slide your chair out it doesn't make an annoying screech sound?: You can buy different sizes of little felt pads that attach to the bottom of your chair's legs, they will make the chair glide easier but beware they don't always stay on well with just the adhesive that comes on them. I would put them on with a little drop of super glue. Just be sure to let them dry completely before using otherwise you may end up with super glue where you don't want it

Q: I have some chairs that have cushions down half the back and on the seat. I want to recushion the top and make it wider and the cushion go all the way down to the seat. (Turn them into Parsons chairs) What would be the easiest way to do this?: I would use foam, wledbond, plywood, string, buttons and fabric. First measure the base of your chair at the seat and figure out the hieght you would like the parsons chairs to be. If you chair is 18 wide at the base, and you want them to be 24 high, then you would need your plywood to be 14 x 21 high {approx.}. You can get this cut for a fee {usually} at any lumber or home improvement store. Take the lumber and attach it to the chair with weldbond and clamps {and l have no idea of your chairs but weldbond works on metal and wood} or anything that will hold it tight while it hardens. Let this be glued firmly and completely dry...for extra security you can tie with rope {it will be covered with the foam} . Get some 2 {or more} thick foam and cut it so you have one long strip that is 50 long by 28 wide. Now on the inside seat part of the back of the chair, take a staple gun {or if you have little hands like me, use a nail and hammer} and attach string every four inches or so in a grid layout} Now take the foam and make holes with a knife or sizzors to line up with string. Take your weld-bond and spread it evenly over the plywood {be generous} front and back. Take the foam and lay it beginning on the inside bottom edge, pulling through the string as you apply it to the glued surface, bring it over the top, and then down the back of the chair, you will have excess on the sides and final bottom edge, but this can be trimmed later. leave to dry on the floor lightly tie and hold in place with string. Take fabric and cut to the same size, drape it in the same manner, making holes and pulling through string Attach with upholstorers nails. Tke the string and attach big beautiful funky buttons. They will look fabulous!!!

Q: how do i hook up a game chair to my tv to play on my ps2 phat. it has 4 outputs on the side of the chair. a row of 2 yellow sockets and a row of 2 white sockets. so how do i do this. plz help: What does the manual for the chair say? It sounds as though the chair acts as a through-put, meaning you'd connect the PS2 to the chair, then connect the chair to your TV. Yellow is normally for composite video, whereas white is for audio. If it's the only audio port, then its mono-audio. If there's a red and a white port, then they're for stereo (the white port would be for the left speaker, red for the right speaker.) You only really need to connect an audio cable to the chair's input. I don't think you need to worry about the outputs at all (again, read the manual.) Go to Radio Shack and get a RCA Y-cable so you can take the PS2's white cable and split it so one end goes to your TV and the other goes to your chair. You may need to get an extension cable so it'll reach. Just get any RCA cable - it doesn't have to be white, that's just to help you match the connections between your devices.

Q: I have a rocking chair and one of the (spreaders maybe) dowels that runs across the two rockers under the seat came out. It's not broken but I can't figure out how it came out or how to put it back in unless I take the whole thing apart. (Don't really want to do that) Thank you!: More than likely came out when someone was sitting in it and rocking, causing the sides to flex out some, letting the cross support fall out. This type of thing happens a lot in rocking chairs. Get a friend to pull the legs apart and slip back into place. Be ready to fix or it will happen again. You need something to help tighten up the hole it goes in. String works pretty good, paper matches or toothpicks work good too. A little shot of carpenters glue will help put it back together together. After its all back together, find something to tie the legs together, tightly. Then allow the glue to dry. Best of luck
