Q: Are twin sleeper chairs comfortable enough for the occaisional weekend guest?: Not especially. The portable comfortable is likely a futon. Some can be found that fold into a utility table.

Q: I want to remove chair rail from my hall and reuse in a bathroom .Sugesstions welcome.: Assuming you have enough to cover the bathroom, I'd carefully remove the chair rail and put it in the bathroom. If you're going to paint the chair railing, them you can avoid breaking during removal by using a hole punch and driving the finishing nails on through. Then the railing won't be damaged by hammer to pry bar damage. Once you put it up in the bath, fill the holes with filler, sand and paint.....before you remove railing, make sure you have enough for the bath, and don't forget to allow for the possibility of having to make opposite angle cuts to reinstall. Q: I am redoing a little iron vanity chair that at one time had a pillow back. I don't have the orig hardware for it and would like to know how to do this.: So are you asking how to reupholster the back of a small chair? Cut a piece of fabric at least 6 bigger on all sides, get a piece of batting 1/2 smaller all around than the area being covered and a staple or glue gun. Put the batting on the area to be covered, cover it in the fabric and pull the fabric to the back, securing with staples and or glue. Standard upholstery. Other wise, make a pillow the right size and shape and then tie it in place. I would add more detail to the question, maybe a pic of the chair?

Q: fabric chairs: Your question needs to have more information provided in order for me to assist you better. When talking about chairs, have you looked on the underside of the seat area to see if it is screwed down and removable? Or are they like parsons chairs that are completely covered with fabric from the seat to the back of chair? You need to be more specific on type of chair before I can tell you how to do this. If the seat portion of the chair is removable(look underneath, and unscrew screws holding it on) Take seat off. Place seat of chair faced down onto fabric of choice, cut out fabric using chair seat as guide. Draw up side of fabric to be sure you have ample fabric to come to bottom of chair. Wrap seat as of you were wrapping a gift and staple with heavy gage stapler. Screw back on seat. If this is a solid fabric chair, consider buying slipcovers or making your own out of sheets.

Not saying it doesn't work, but should I update my method?: Time outs are used frequently and are probably the easiest way to solve the problem. Q: I looked on ebay couldn't find any, I just don't want to pay $70 for the chair: And when you see what they are, you really won't want to pay that for them. :) The chairs are really nice and I can't think of anything you can substitute for the insert. It is 2 odd sized rectangle-ish foam inserts for the seat and back and then 2 cylindrical inserts for the arms. Stuffing it all in there is a pain but it's nice when you have to wash just one area of the chair. You might try looking on craigslist. I see stuff like that all the time on there. I know it's a good chunk of money (especially when you add the cover) but the one we have has really taken a beating and it still looks brand new. If you can't find a cheaper one, I'd still just buy the one from pottery barn.
