Q:I just moved into a 1st floor/basement apartment. Its currently has tile floors wich are nice but are extremely cold to walk on in the winter. I was thinking about putting carpet down until I stumbled across carpet tiles in home depot. Since im renting I dont want to damage the current ceramic tile floor, should I lay down regular carpet or use carpet tiles? I don't care about grout lines and i dont want anything glued to the floor. It doesnt need to be the best job I will more then likely do it myself. If I lay regular carpet do I need padding? Or if I use carpet tiles, what kind of barrier should I have between the current floor and the carpet to proctect the ceramic tiles?: I'd be more inclined to just get a roll of second hand used carpet cut to the size of the room tack it down around the edges against the walls making it easy to vacuum , so as the vacuum cleaner doesn't lift the carpet as you move about while cleaning. It would be a good idea to also obtain some underlay to help retain the heat in the room, co's just plain carpet won't keep the heat in, you need something under it! (that's why they sell the stuff) Cheers!!

Q:We just got New carpeting through our house yesterday, how often should I have the carpeting cleaned...is it every 6 months or every year?Thanks: Carpeting should be cleaned as infrequently as possible. Cleaning carpet actually contributes to making your carpeting more dirty. This sounds strange, but it is true. The reason is that soaps are used in the cleaning machine that get into the carpet fibers. Is it difficult or impossible to get all of the soaps out of the carpet because only a small amount of water is used to clean to keep your floors from being saturated. Becuause the soap is added and not completely removed, when the cleaning is finsihed, it leaves soap in the carpet. When you walk on the carpet the soap acts as a glue almost that attracts dirt and filth. You can try this yourself by taking some liquid soap and putting it on your floor and later feel it. it will be sticky. So, instead of cleaning your carpet every 6 months or 12 months, just dry vaccum frequently. Personally, i only have my carpet professionally clean when absolutely necessary, about once every 6 years.

Q:Does anyone know the daily care of horse rugs? Like what to check for. Thanks..x: When u take the rug off, just check there is no rips on it. Or maybe blood, cuz ur horse may of caught it's self. XxX

Which blankets/rugs do each of them need and why?: it depends on which country you are from.rugs are the english name for american blankets.kind of like the differance between a girth and a cinch they both do the same thing.in america it would be easier to find horse blankets than rugs but in reality if you live in a really cold climate you can get blankets to keep your horse and foal warm on the really bad days.but otherwise horses need shelter from the wind and rain and snow if they have these they will be fine.horses will grow a winter coat which will keep them warm in winter.make sure you feed them sweet feed or other feed that will keep their energy level up or make themhot for winter.my horses are pastured but have unlimited use of the barn stalls and other run in sheds around the pastureto shelter them from the weather.i am not too keen on blanketing horses unless i can keep watch on them all the time.buckles can get caught on things or cut the horses blankets get torn and under hoof.horses survived the ice age and millions of years without blankets and rugs by using natural shelters. edit; i live on the high plains in colorado where it doesnt snow it snows sideways and drifts and my horses have had no problems in winter

Q:when every i take my cover off my horse it lets of static electric zaps. (you know like if you shuffle along the floor then tap some one and it lets of this zap) but its not small zaps they are very loud, you can hear them crackle from meters away if you move the cover, but they are also EXTREMELY painful!! (It left me with welts all up my arms!) i can hardly hold it because of this (it only dose it when i take it off) and im starting to worry if it may be hurting my horse as well as me, So how can i stop this? Thank You.:'DPS. obviously were in summer and because i live in Australia, the sun is a scorcher. could the sun be a reason why it dose this?: Wash it with a few dryer sheets. And wipe your horse down with dryer sheets too. It's not like there's something wrong with it, it's normal for that too happen. You just have to figure out how to deal with it.

Definitely rent a carpet cleaner from your nearest grocery store. I think they cost about $24.99 plus the cost of shampoo. You gotta get that dirt and bacteria out of your new home. You'll be glad you did.
