Q: I'm looking for a store that sells rugs for college dorm rooms! I've found a lot of rugs but none for college dorms help!
Have you tried bed bath and beyond? By me there is a place called Linens and things as well. I'm sure somewhere sells rugs do you have a home goods by you? they sell rugs as well!
Q: I need a rug for my dorm. Its simple but I can't find it. Maybe it's too simple. Solid White Oval rug about 3X4 or so (rather than a huge rug). I don't want a bathroom mat either. Many websites advertise that they have lots of rugs but I can't find this simple one..... Any ideas? Thanks
White rug? Um, try a dollar store or thrift shop. They might have something. Although, I must agree, it's not all that exciting. Your gonna LIVE there. You might want to try looking for something in the new Target brand of furniture. Speaking of Target, I'm pretty sure they have white oval rugs there...
Q: I am painting my room a pale orange, and it has bright yellow accents. What color rug would look really good? I can't do white because it would look too dirty. Thanks!
Hi Claire, In choosing a Rug which lasts approx 10 years or more I would suggest that in this case you choose a neutral color. I realize many may think that Tan, Taupe or Light Gray. are a safe choice and so basic. But with that said Carpeting can expensive. Changing the Wall Paint is far more cost effective. In the future, you may decide to use another wall color paint in the room. Tan, Taupe or Light Grey would be my thoughts for you ! * All of the above mentioned colors come in a variety of many shades. I also suggest taking a Paint chip with you to the store for comparisons if you are concerned. Tan/Taupe will provide an earthy color to the room, while Gray colors are visually cool color. Happy Decorating !
Q: Thinking seriously tp becoming a Muslim, got a free Quran in the mail (English) and looking for any free prayer rug. - Former Christian

Q: So, I've seen on the internet about these rugs that is practically all you need all year round. It consists of 3 layers: a protective sheet, an outer shell and a reversible quilted blanket. I have only seen a few of these on the internet and none in the UK. Do you think these would be worth investing in? And would I be able to find them in the UK?Thanks in advance (: xo
I've seen them advertised in the UK but off hand can't remember where - Rideway? Derby House? IIRC they are expensive. You could probably use three equivalent rugs and pay less for them but they wouldn't match prettily. Depends whether you want economy or looks. On the basis that two or three thin layers are warmer than one thick one they should be a good idea. However, I don't have direct experience of this 3 in 1 rug. I've been at it for long enough to prefer economy as long as the performance is satisfactory. Along with others at the yard I use a Morrison's First Home duvet as an under layer indoors when it's very cold.
Q: I have tried squirting him with water when he does it, but I cant be on guard constantly, and he doesnt seem to connect the squirting with the scratching. He has plenty of other places to scratch but he doesnt seem interested in them. Is there any good solution to this problem? Ive been reduced to covering this rug with old blankets.
The only you can stop your cat from scratching at the rug is get your cat declawed thats the only way.I have a cat that loves to scratch at the door when spray her with water it didn't work so spraying your cat with water it won't work.
Q: Is there any great carpet cleaners in torrington, Connecticut? I just moved in to my new condo and the carpets are just plain nasty and I need to get them cleaned! Looking to find carpet cleaners to do a great job at a competitive price.
So weird that I just randomly came across this question! I just moved to South Florida from Southington, CT, but I also lived for many years in Bristol and my mother-in-law lives in Torrington currently. Yes, I can definitely recommend ChemDry (I think they have a Torrington location, not sure where exactly, but the number is 860-489-6010). My family owned several apartment complexes, and we eventually learned to do our own carpet cleaning, but before that, we used ChemDry...they're great. They are very reasonably priced too. I just asked my mother in law who shed recommend, and she says there's a place called The Carpet Magician on South Main St in Torrington that she used, so I googled them, they have great reviews and they are running a whole house for $89 deal. Their number is 203.721.0491. Mention that you found them on merchant circle and you can get the $89 deal. All their work is guaranteed, and my MIL says they did a good job on her cream colored carpet. Hope this helps!
Q: What is the effect of the carpet?
Beautiful, matched with the environment color, capable to reduce noise, prevent fall injury, abxorb dust, but it's difficult to sweep.
Q: I want to pull up the carpet in my house. The carpet now is the cheapest they make...I believe. I bought the house 1 1/2 years ago and have been waiting until now to do it. What do I need to know before I open this can of worms
It's easy. Since it's usually ripped up the same day the new carpet goes in, you need to have a broom handy. The carpet installers don't mind the dust. Keep a tube of caulk nearby. It's a great time to spread a bead of caulk into any cracks in the cement floor. The cracks can allow insects in if they get too big.
Q: I have white carpet and after years of living we have accumulated many stains throughout the house. It always looks dirty! I own a carpet shampooer and use it frequently but a week later the stains resurface and it all looks yucky again. Do you have a good stain pre-treater for me? Or any other suggestions?
The reason this happens is because most of the time the padding is saturated to. What you want to to do is clean the fibers but do not let the water get to the padding. If you have to clean a spot.. make sure you place paper towels on the spot and press till it no longer shows wetness. I use Resolve and spray it lightly and use a clean white tightly rung out. Rub the spot gently , and do it again over and over till the towel no longer has a stain. After you finish, place paper towels over the stain and place a heavy object .. Since it is already damaged , clean the fibers.. don't wet the carpet..padding.. Do not let anyone walk on it till it is completely dry. if you have to designate a space to walk. It might take days even if it is warm. then change the designated area and clean that. do the same.. wick.. imagine a candle , the wick brings up oil.. same happens with carpet..Always vacumn well..You might need to get a dry cleaning solution.. Good luck.. I
