Q:I have a big rug in my bedroom which I would like to bring to school- however it smells bad from jsut being on the floor for so long. I would like to clean it just enough so that it won't stink up my dorm room WITHOUT calling a carpet cleaner. Any suggestions?
The lady at your laundramat can clean it for a small price for she puts it in a giant washing machine.
Q:rug is wool. its new. it costs 80 dollars to clean with the company.. id rather do it by hand.what besides hot water and a rug.. do i put on it to clean it by hand?
Hi For just a few spots Nature’s Miracle should work. It is available at Petsmart. Make sure you follow the direction. The main reason that it fails is that people just sprays it on and wipe it up and not let it soak into the carpet and pad like the urine did. You may need to do this 2 or 3 time. Just reminder that the urine treatment product needs to go where the urine went for it to work properly. After you clean the spots, you should shampoo the carpet using this product on the front and back of rug. In my experience, Nature's Miracle is your best bet. Good luck! Carpet cleaner for 14 years
Q:does anybody know if there is an easier way to crochet a rag rug without sewing the quot;ragquot; together?
you will desire to attempt getting very great mesh squares or circles from the interior sight craft save - like those used for latch hooking. Then take 6-8 inch strips of despite fabric mixture you desire, and loop the strips interior the direction of the backside of the holes and tie each and each strip in a a million/2 knot. try this with each and all the holes and additionally you will land up with something comparable.
Q:My new dorm room is a 9x10. I want to get an area rug to put down, since the room just has cold tile floor! How do I go about buying an area rug, and what size do I need to get?
I would personally get a cheaper rug since things seem to add up quickly while you're in college I personally prefer wooden floors to carpet ones.
Q:I saw a rug made out of t-shirts and thought it would be fun to try. I've heard it's pretty easy but I don't know if anyone has a good website or special tricks or helpful hints. Thanks anyone that can help! Also how many t-shirt would I need for what size rug? Thanks.
You can also use the whole t-shirt and make them several layers thick, sewing them together much like a quilt and making a rug that way. But I like the texture of a woven or knitted or crocheted rug, especially when it is made of rags. How many you need depends on many things, such as the size of the rug, and how thin you cut the strips. You will need MUCH more than you think... I know! Collect as many as you can from friends and neighbours and search the second-hand shops for them as well.
Q:Hi there,We will soon be replacing our old, ugly carpet and baseboards with new. I'm wondering what should be installed first - the carpet, or baseboards? What material is best suited for baseboards? Thanks for your help!
theres too schools of thought. put the base down first and the carpet guys might hit it with their hammers when they put down their strips but it makes it easier to take up the carpet if you ever need to. its best to paint the base first so you wont get paint on the carpet. also it makes the base look better when the base goes over other flooring besides carpet. when the base is put over the carpet, it can be an inch higher then the other way, which makes it higher when you come to a different floor levelsay lino. put it down first, paint or stain it first. you can use mdf or wood. depends on stain or paint
Q:Why are area rugs so expensive?!?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Why are area rugs so expensive?!?
Q:The carpet in my living room is looking worn out due to heavy traffic. If I get it professionally cleaned, will it help make the carpet look newer?
it could. Sometimes its just dirt that gets trapped in it that makes it run down. Try a steam cleaner. They work great good luck :)
Q:My sister has a 9x12 area rug that laid flat on hardwood floors and now that she wants to put it on carpet, it curls on the edges and bunches in the middle. Is there any way to keep it flat? It's a beautiful rug, but right now she has it rolled up against a wall.
You can try using the double sided tape around the perimeter, if she doesn't mind it getting sticky in time. Though, it may not. :-)
Q:Normal household carpet. NOT industrial carpet. Per square foot.
The average price for carpet will depend on a few things. The type of yarn, the amount of yarn and type of store you buy it from. Unless you are comparing apples to apples it is not possible to get a fair average price. I have a carpet business and customers ask a question like this all the time. So this is what I tell them. My company has a 25 ounce carpet with a FHA padding for $6.99 per square yard. Just over 77 cents a square foot. This carpet is not industrial and is better then rental carpeting. And the price goes up from this point. You must tell the store you are call the exact type of carpet you want to get comparison prices, that way you are apples to apples, not whatever store one gives you compared to store two. Installation cost run around 30 cents per square foot in my area (depending on size of job, type of carpet, stairs etc.)
