Q:I have a couple of very expensive rugs that I need cleaned. Just dont want to trust them to anybody that may not know to do them right. Anybody know of a professional that does this
Go okorder ., to locate a certified carpet/upholstery cleaner in your part of the country. If they do not clean wool area rugs they may recommend someone who does. I hope they are not full of pet/dog urine. Some dogs will mark their territory on a wool rug as they sense another animal in the area. Being stupid, they mistake the wool scent for another dog instead of sheep. You can locate specialty wool cleaners in most large metropolitan cities.
Q:I accidentally dropped my red nail polish on to my carpet... i tried using windex - it faded it a little bit- but i can still see it! anything else i can try? and i am going to have a carpet cleaner person come and clean my carpets so will they be able to get it all out? and could there be a reaction from mixing the windex with the carpet cleaner? PLEASE HELP!
Things You'll Need: Nail Polish Remover (Acetone), Window/Glass Cleaner, Hair Spray, Shaving cream, Oxy Clean, Butter Knife (or similar shaped object) Paper Towels. 1. Take a deep breath! The nail polish stain can be removed from the carpet. First begin to lightly dab the Acetone Nail Polish remover on the stain with paper towels. (Make sure you test it on a small spot on your carpet first to be sure it doesn't stain). 2. Slowly dab up the nail polish stain using the nail polish remover and paper towels. If all of the stain does not come up try spraying hairspray and/or shaving cream on the nail polish. Use small amounts and gently scrub the stain out. I recommend using a scrubbing brush (such as one used to wash dishes) or a toothbrush to really get the stain out. You can also use the butter knife to try and work the stain out if it is beginning to dry. At this point you may also want to try spraying window or glass cleaner on the nail polish stain. This helped quite a bit in removing the stain on my carpet. 3. Be sure to continue to use paper towels to soak up the nail polish stain from the carpet and make sure you do not get the carpet too wet. 4. Once you remove the nail polish stain, allow the carpet to dry. If there is still light staining, try using Oxy Clean to get the last of it out. Tips Warnings Be patient. It takes awhile to remove a nail polish stain from a carpet..Be Gentle. You do not want to work the stain into the carpet any more than it already is..The first product you try may not work. Keep trying until you see what works for you..Always test sections of your carpet with any item you decide to use to remove the nail polish stain. Do this in a closet or somewhere it will not be noticeable if it stains..If you cannot get the stain out, call a professional carpet cleaner. Better safe than sorry..Do not cut the carpet..
Q:How to judge the quality of carpet?
On the back of the tufted carpet latex glued with a layer of cloth mesh, according to standard backing peeling strength greater than 25N force value index. Consumers in the selection of such carpets, you can use the hand to the bottom cloth gently tear, to see the degree of adhesion, such as bonding is not high, the bottom cloth and blanket body is easy to separate, this carpet is not durable.
Q:My dog ripped up the rug and I was wondering if I could sew it back together or stitch it or something. Is that possible? He's ripped it up pretty good, the tears are 2-5 inches long, and half an inch wide at the most. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
You might want to try patching it. find a piece that matches you rug cut out the bad spot cut your patch go to the local hardware store flooring department get some carpet tape put the tape on the bottom of the rug, run your iron over the top the heat will melt the tape glue to your rug good as new. IF YOU CAN FIND A PATCH, other wise you can sew the rug just do it from the back with a strong thread
Q:I was given a 8ft 8 in x 12 ft 2 in persian rug that is in superb condition. It is authentic, but can not find out how much it is worth. I know that it cost 2,000 dollars 30 plus yrs ago, but am clueless on what it would go for these days. Could anyone give me some advice on how to find it's worth. I was given it a couple yrs ago by a family member who had passed away, it was left to me in their will. I dont like the color or style, Im into more modern stuff and I am looking to sell it. Someone please help, I am desperate and dont want to get ripped off, or name the wrong price and come to find out later that its far more pricier that I originally thought.
This site has a rug estimator which will give you a price on your rug. You can also check our their forums or ask the site owner directly. I have been following their site for a while now, and he/she always has posts with people in your exact position. I would suggest sending some photos and they can accurately price it out. Best of luck!

Q:Why people crazy about indoor outdoor rugs? Give the proper reasoning.
Outdoor : Small and large houses alike can benefit from attractive outdoor rugs. The right outdoor rug can extend your living room into your yard and make use of space you didn't realize you had. If enjoying the outdoors is a priority for you and your family, then read on for all the things you need to know about outdoor rugs. Indoor: One of the most important things to look for in an indoor and outdoor type rug is the size of it. You'll find they come in sizes ranging from small, runner rugs to huge, room-size rugs. Which size you need to get is going to depend on where you want to put it. Many people choose to use indoor outdoor rugs on hallways leading to and from the outside, which is why you'll find many runner rugs. However, other people wish to cover their entire patio on them, and for this purpose you would use a larger one. To make things easy, take your measuring tape out and see how large you need it to be. Chances are they wont have the exact size, but you should be able to find one close to it.
Q:Urine odor is old and on natural dye rug.
You can wash down the walls with a solution of TSP (tri sodium phosphate) which can be found in the paint department. Air sponges will help absorb the odour in the air. Finally, a really good primer/sealant and a good bathroom paint should take care of the problem. If that STILL doesn't work - the smell could be coming from the grout in the tiles (if any) around the toilet. In that case, lift the toilet and clean with TSP or bleach, replace wax seal, re seat the toilet and caulk around the base of the toilet. If you do use bleach and/or ammonia - DO NOT MIX THEM!!! They produce a very dangerous, nasty gas. Good luck!
Q:How do you deal with water stains on woolen carpets soaked in water?
Remove the stains and have the right way to clean the carpet so that it doesn't damage the carpet. So, when cleaning, pay attention to the following points:1, first wipe from the edge of the stain, gradually narrowing to the center, to prevent stains spread out.2, silk, wool carpet should not use ammonia water, lye cleaning.3, oxalic acid toxicity, use should be diluted in warm water, concentrated acid is easy to hurt fiber.4, wipe the force should not be too strong, otherwise it will damage the fiber tissue and surface.5, Potassium Permanganate is a strong oxidant, can damage the carpet, should be used with caution.6, turpentine, gasoline and other flammable materials, use of fire into the closest.7. Alcohol should not be used in glass fibers.
Q:What's the difference between polypropylene carpet and nylon carpet?
