Q:Two wires are made of the same material but the second wire has twice the diameter and twice the length of the first wire. When the two wires are stretched, and the tension in the second wire is also twice the tension in the first wire. the funamental frequency of the first wire is 880 Hz. What is the fundamental frequency of the second wire?
Since the tension and size are different the two wire will have different wave speeds Since v= sqrt(T/mu) mu can be represented by density * area Since the second wire has twice the diameter it will have 4 times the mu and since Tension in wire 2 is twice that in wire 1 v2 = sqrt(2T/4mu) sqrt(.5)*v1 = 0.707*v1 Since f1 (wire 1) = v/2L1 then f2(wire 2) = v2/2L2 so replacing v2 and L2 yields 0.707v1/(2*2*L1) = 0.707/2(v1/2L) = 0.707/2 *f1 = 0.707/2*880Hz = 311Hz
Q:i need 175ft of 110 wire how much does it cost?
depends one the guage and copper prices fluctuate daily
Q:Me and a buddy took the 305 out of the car. I have a 350 to take its place, but was wondering what are the only wires i need to have a clean engine bay. the old engine has a million wires hooking up to everything. Some muscle cars only have spark plug wires, the starter wire and battery cable. What must i do to get mine like that? i dont care about emissions. what must i change or add to the new engine?
I have an '84 Monte SS and wanted the same thing. Here's what I have: the 2 wires that come from the harness and go to the starter (1 Positive, 1 S terminal), oil gauge wire, temp gauge wire, the alternator wires, the wire going to the distributor cap, and the tach gauge wire going to the distributor cap. That's pretty much it, as well as your battery cables, and spark plug wires. You really don't need to do or add anything as long as it runs and everything works that needs to work, it'll be fine. I'm going by memory, so if I forgot something I apologize, but that's the best of my recollection right now. If you have anymore questions you can email me.
Q:Found some electrical wiring resonably priced on craigslist but it says -----8 gauge (AWG), 3 wire, direct burry electrical cableDOES THAT MEAN ITS 3/0 WIRE? Because I need 3/0 wire direct burriedI am looking to buy some extra 3/0 wire and found some on craigslist for a reasonable price....
No, it's not 3/0. 3/0 and 8 gauge are both measures of the conductor size. a 3/0 wire has about 10 times the cross-section area that an 8 gauge wire has. So what you're looking at on CL isn't even in the neighborhood of what you need.
Q:I own a 1990 Toyota 4runner 6cyl, 3L. it had a few performance issues when i bought it. ( just didnt seem to have any power idling at around 200), so before spending money on expensive items, i figured spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. So i just changed the spark plug wires today, and immediatly the truck was runnin much better idling at 800-1000 , about 5 minutes into driving, the problem started again, i parked the truck, it was idling at 200-300 again, opened the hood saw a bit of smoke coming from one of the wires, so im hoping and assuming it was just smoking because the wire was touching a hot surface, i can hear a bit of a clicking noise that i dont remember hearing before, almost like a spark. what could cause the sudden problem, is it possible the wires could be connected to the wrong spark plugs ( i replaced the old ones one by one, so i know i didnt connect it wrong) any tips would be great
The wire burned on something hot and is arcing to ground. Replace it and use a wire loom to stand it away from the problem surface. That clicking sound is the arc.
Q:thats how my after market stereo is hooked up..i just got a system and was wondering if i join the remote wire to the accessory would it be ok? even if the accessory is already joined with the illumination
You need to first disconnect the accesory wire on the aftermarket radio from the illumination wire from the car harness if you are using hose connection to turn on the radio. You need to connect the accesory wire from the aftermarket radio to the accesory wire from the car radio harness, if you are using a wire harness then it would be the red wire and if the factory radio harness is cut then u'll need a test light to locate the accesory wire. On the aftermarket radio harness/plug locate the blue/white wire that's where u will need to connect the remote wire to, in order to turn your amp on and off. Don't connect the remote wire to the illumination wire from the car, or the radio harness.
Q:what is the best wire to use for a chainmail
If you plan to wear this, stainless steel is the only wire that will not rust. Knights look terrible with underarm rusty mail.
Q:Im Very Curious As To How Did The Designer Orese Make Her, African Continent Shape Wire Earrings? I Have The Supplies To Make Wire Earrings. I Would Love To Do A Personal DIY! :~)
as well as on the first page link above, under the category Wire-Framing (P.S. Why did you use initial caps on all words in your question?...kinda hard to read.) .
Q:Their is a Shortage in the wire inside the actuall headphones, I was wondering if I could purchase a beats studio wire to rewire them.
Any wire about the same size as the original wire will work. Only if a special connector is involved would there be any reason to replace the wiring with a manufacturer-supplied part.
Q:I want to connect a fan with light and pull chain only to a box that has the old wiring black and white to the new wiring black, white and green. Is this possible and how do I do it.
First of all, you can do it only if the box is fan rated. A regular box won't handle the forces that a fan places on it. Unless the existing box is metal and grounded, you will just have to install the fan without the ground. If you make a mistake in the wiring, someone could get shocked, instead of the breaker tripping. However, since the fan is on the ceiling, it is unlikely that they would be grounded, and the shock would be uncomfortable, but not serious. If the box is metal and grounded, just fasten the green wire to it with a screw. Bottom line: It is possible, but there are potential problems that may be quite difficult to work around.
