Hot Dipped Galvanzied Razor Wire Galvanized Iron Wire Black Wire
- Q:what size wiring should i use to wire a plug in for a dryer?
- You will need 4 wires to meet current electrical codes..2 black or red wires. (ungrounded conductors). 1 white wire. (neutral or grounded conductor). 1 green insulated or bare copper wire. (equipment ground). Both ungrounded conductors on a 2-pole, 30 amp breaker or fuse. A 30 amp, 250 volt rated receptacle is also required..The dryer will work with 3 wires, but is not up to code, because of bonding/grounding issues
- Q:There are two switches – the left is for the fan, the right is for the light. They operate independently. I want to replace the light switch with one that has a motion sensor. There are four sets of bundled wires coming out of the back of the box. Each bundle has a white, a black, and a copper wire. Two black wires come out of each switch. The top wires go into two of the bundles in the back of the box, the bottom wires are connected with each other and with two more black wires coming out of the other two bundles coming out of the back of the box.All the white wires are twisted together with a red cap. All of the copper wires are twisted together with another red cap.My motion sensor has a red, black, green and yellow wire. The directions say the yellow wire is not used, because this is not a 3-way light. Is there a straightforward way to do this?
- Sure is!. You wire it exactly the way the instructions say to. Which is to use the 2 wires on the existing switch. The bare wire on the switch (if present) is the ground and goes to the green. Just like the instructions say. You are apparently letting all those other wires scare you. The motion sensor is nothing more than an automatic switch. It does the same thing the existing switch does, using the exact same wires. Do Not touch any of the existing splices. Look again at the instructions. Take a deep breath and have at. I've been in control cabinets with Hundreds of wires in them. I ignored all but the ones I need to work on. Other wise I would still be there trying to figure it out! (chuckle)
- Q:I've seen people use it as ...umm..energy generating...majiggy.. (but not alot of energy) including a magnet/something about a magnetic field or some sort?and instead of MAGNET WIRES can i use SPEAKER WIRES?(RADIO SHACK)
- Magnet wire is just solid copper with a layer of varnish for insulation. Speaker wire would work, but you could not wind the wire as tightly due to the thicker insulation. also the wire is very flexible and will not stay in place very well. Also, if the coil gets hot, the insulation on the Speaker wire will start to burn or melt. .
- Q:Two current carrying wires are perpendicular to each other.Wire 1 is placed on top of wire 2.Wire 1 current direction is pointing North, wire 2 current direction is pointing east. Is there a force on either of the two wires?Does one wire spin due to the produced force? Please explain to me how to do this questionThanks
- very confusing subject. look into on to bing and yahoo. just that can assist!
- Q:Ok I've been changing the old outlets in the house and all of them were fine until I got to this 1 outlet. The outlet had 1 ground wire, 2 white and 2 black (if that helps). The wires were a little chewed up looking so when I went to wrap the upper white wire to its screw it broke and now the wire won't reach the screw and certain lights in the house won't turn on because of it. I probably should have left it alone because of the condition of the wires but its too late now so how do I go about getting the wire to reach its screw ? Thanks
- using a wire nut just get the same size wire cut it about 4 inches long and make whats called a pig tail use the wire nut to connect the new wire to the short one its most likley a 14/2 wire if its on a 15 amp breaker if its on a 20/amp you should use a 12/2 wire
- Q:Cant find were to tap the wiring for the puddle lights. Can some one please help!
- i in my opinion only offered a Silverado 1500 on Friday, and that i honestly like it! i appreciate the OnStar, and the XM radio good factors. also, i imagine that's in user-friendly words a extra effective searching truck. As for the experience, that's an truly tender experience, like a Cadillac. mutually, its were given extremely some capacity in the back of it. The warranties are large too. It even comes with a 6 365 days assure on rust! i might want to flow with the Silverado for constructive!
- Q:what size of wire should I use for my 1.5hp aircon, 220volt
- If the distance to the power source is 100 ft or less a #10 wire should work. If it is further than that you should call an electrician. added note: # 14 copper is for light service wire. It would max out under use with an AC and possibly overheat.
- Q:currently I have 2 12woofers wired to a single amp with 2 gauge wiring. Will it make a noticable difference if I upgrade the wiring to 0 gauge?
- Not.rly. if u have bigger wire yea it will have more power running thro it
- Q:When wiring an aftermarket car stereo, do you always match color to like color? Also do you have to use every wire from the wire harness?
- Assuming the head unit follows the standard color code (there are some cheap Chinese import units that don't) then you should match the head unit wire colors to the harness wire colors. There are a few extra rules, though: -If the harness has a blue wire, and the head unit only has blue/white (no blue), then the blue harness wire should be connected to the blue/white head unit wire. If the harness has a blue/white AND a blue wire, then both of them should be connected to the head unit's blue/white wire. Similarly, if the head unit has only a blue wire and no blue/white, then it should be connected to the blue and the blue/white wires in the harness. -Orange and orange/white can be treated as interchangeable; ie, an orange/white head unit wire can be connected to an orange harness wire, and vice-versa. (If the harness has both an orange and orange/white, though, don't combine them--just use one or the other with the head unit). -Some harnesses have a black/white wire; this can usually be combined with the black ground wire. -Brown and orange/black wires in harnesses should be taped off individually and not connected to anything. -Some harnesses don't have a black ground wire. In this case, the black wire from the head unit will need to be grounded somewhere else. There will usually be wires left over. Make sure each one is insulated so it can't cause a short or contact another wire.
- Q:Hi there,I have a very old house which only has 2 wires (1 white, 1 black) coming out of the wall. The ceiling fan / light has 2 red wires, 1 black, 1 green. What is right way to wire for this to operate? Thanks,
- Most fans have a wiring schematic and this will tell you how to wire it. Normally black is the power, green is a ground, which you don't have, and as for the red wires I'm not sure. Is this a new fan or one that has been used before. In the USA we have a white wire which is a neutral. I'm puzzled about the two red wires, these may have been added at a later date. If your in a country that has 240 volts then this may be an explanation. Regards, Dale
